Love happen twice – When you say ‘I love you’ do you mean it till eternity?

Don’t answer in a jiffy. First understand what is love. Is it only feeling butterflies in the belly, blushing on being  teased by his/her name, relating to every love song sung and finding world to be a beautiful place, as described in fairy tales? If you think only this is love, it’s not your fault.

Unaware of the fact how stories, which are taught to us, influence our mind; conscious as well as sub-conscious part. The reason why almost every girl dreams of his prince charming, least till the time someone breaks her heart. Not physically though, but emotionally and somehow mentally as well. Now, the definition of Prince charming could differ from person to person. Still perfection is the commonality they share. Be it sturdy body, puffed chest, manly voice, broad shoulders and other synonyms of handsome, not gentleman though. Coming to the square one, can love happen twice ?

The food you eat, attire you opt, people you hang out with, colour preferences and what not, all hands to influence your behaviour and has a direct impact on your mental being. Have you ever wonder how powerful is music, that it can makes you cry, laugh, gives you goose bumps, motivates you and can even cure conditions like insomnia, depression, release oxytocin, etc.

At the same time, it has some side effects as well and that is the result of excessive listening.

Besides, these lyrics affect your mentality as well. The way they portray women in their songs is no less than an object of interest. Talking about empowerment, one should not unheed such lyrics while blaming the stereotypical mindsets.

Sense: 

Songs like DJ wale babu, Hookha bar, Tera buzz, Blue eyes, Party all night, Meri wali ding dong, Pappi song, Aao raja, etc. lacks the basic sense of understanding. Be wise while making your playlist. Noting, eventually you believe in what you listen or say frequently.

Beats: 

Beats are not only addictive but affects directly to your brain receptors if played repeatedly with no pause. Songs such as Manali trance, Dum maro dum, Engine ki seeti, Horn blow, Chotey chotey peg, Second hand jawani, Backbone, Naah, Race on my mind, etc. seems to fill you with vigour and enthusiasm yet at the same are addictive. Be it trance, psychedelics or any other form of EDM, their excess is always lethal.

These days, it is quite cumbersome to find a meaningful song. While running in the rat race seems to be human tendency, notwithstanding the same is the trait of an artist. One should always pay attention to what they listen, for what you listen is what you become. While Indian music, once considered divine, has now majorly mended by the western trend and thus losing its cultural identity.

I am in no way criticising the songs mentioned above for they too are the result of sweat and toil, yet when comes to build a good taste, I prefer to keep them aside. Listening to these songs rarely or dancing on their beats in a party or on an occasion will not harm your personality but to add them in your playlist might affect. Your playlist defines your personality and your taste. Sahastra Ravana – Since childhood, especially if you are born and raised in Northern India, the only Ramayana you are aware of is the one written by Valmiki, the first Sanskrit poet (Adhikavi). On asking the plot of the epic, your probable answer would be the synopsis of the movies and television shows you watch based on it.

Indubitably, in that context what you know is not more than what is been showed to you, be it through a 180 minutes movie or 25-30 minutes daily show. The title might bewilder you but more than that you would find it interesting to know there are more than 300 versions of Indian epic poem, the Ramayana, known to exist. Albeit the one attributed to the sage Valmiki is considered as the oldest version among all.

Before answering the question who killed the Sahastra Ravana, if not Rama, let’s first know the backdrop of the story.

In Adbhut Ramayana, one of the version of the Ramayana, also referred as deviant composition, the Goddess Sita is not depicted as demure and helpless rather fierce and sturdy. Coming back to what you all might have heard and watch the story of Ramayana which says, the demon King Ravana also known as Dashanan (one with 10 heads) abducted the Goddess Sita and prison her in Ashok Vatika, in the premises of his kingdom.

It is said that the erudite Ravana knew his this act might bring him to his fate, death, despite he did so to know if Rama was the incarnation of God or not and this led the battle between the two. In order to rescue his wife Rama head to Lanka with his army of monkeys and other creatures. This might interest you to know that Ravana was the Brahmin who performed the rites of purohit when the Rama Sethu bridge was constructed. And then held the battle, in which on the 10th day the elder Ravana’s brother Vibhishana told Lord Rama about the boon that Ravana beseeched from the creator Brahma and thus asked him to strike the arrow to dashanan’s navel in order to kill him. This is how the demon king met his fate and lord Rama won the battle.

Is this the end of the story? Not really, soon after this the divine couple went back and had their me time while one of the doota came to inform about the Sahastra Ravana (with 100 heads) who was forming his army to attack Ayodhya. Boosted with his recent conquest, Rama in no second was ready to fought against him and plan to knock him down. It is said that the Sahastra Ravana was the elder brother of Ravana, more powerful than him. While fighting in the battle with him, Lord Rama and Shakti were wounded and fell unconscious. The omnipresent, Goddess Sita saw this and filled with rage she took the form of Kali/ Bhadrakali and came to the battle field to fight with the tremendous giant Sahastra Ravana. Her complexion from fair turned to stark blue and her attired got transformed, wearing garlands of demon hands around her waist and tiger skin skirt. She fought fiercely with the demon and defeated him. This is how Sahastra Ravana was killed by Adi-Shakti, Sita.

The story might be queer to many and unheeded by much, yet talks about the valiant Sita who was portrayed only as meek and helpless in the big screens and even in some hard-covers. Albeit some people even claim it as merely a fiction while some believe and preach about it, as a matter of fact is it all upto us how we perceive.

Terrorism and Corruption – Ever had a thought, if being Indian makes you celebrate the winning of nation’s cricket team or such, also makes you ashamed when comes corruption or terrorism.

If by corruption you think of a big scam like that of coal, 2G-3G or Common Wealth Games’ then your definition is missing some minute yet major things.

From the time you cry first, to the time when people gives you farewell by shedding tears, you knowing or unknowing hands to corruption. Be it bribing the traffic police, when you are not wearing helmet of seat belts, travelling without tickets, not paying taxes, unethical use of Government aids and what not, you do one or many. To bring them to your notice, all these are corruption.

Terrorism and Corruption – Now comes terrorism.

What was terrorism centuries ago is not same in context to today’s scenario. Our freedom fighters fought audaciously to make sure the coming generation breath in the air of free and Independent India. But what we see terrorism today is young, brain-washed people, nonchalantly causing harm to humanity. And Ironically, before they realise this, they are dead. The question that pops up at such point is, how can you stop those who aren’t afraid to die? By educating them! Note, by education I don’t truck to the poems of Coleridge, Tennyson, plays of Shakespeare and anything that serves complexity rather than some basic ethics of living.

They should be aware about the things happening, not in the world but atleast in their surroundings. They should know the basic difference between right and wrong, good and vicious, legal and illegal. When they will know this, along with the consequences of having done something wrong and being caught, they would fear doing crime as well. Moral education is something that won’t add good grades to your marksheet, helps you to lead a good grade life.

Education is a big tool to fight against almost all the social evils prevailing in the society including Terrorism and Corruption.

Despite of so many educational programs and Government aids the roots of corruption has not only blocked access to free education but lead to child labour and illegal trafficking. It is one of the root cause of making the gap between rich and poor wider and favours the prior and suppressing the later. Be it the alluring and fancy Bollywood, sacred jobs like that of Doctors, the preacher of justice; the Judge, Lawyer, Administrators, the makers; Engineers and Architects, Artists and all those who serve the nation in a way or two, all are prone to corruption. What allure them is not only the money but fame as well.
