One of the most auspicious rituals of the Diwali fest is the Laxmi Puja.

We Indians dedicate ourselves wholly to invite goddess Laxmi at our place through a grand puja. The main benefit of organising Laxmi Puja is inviting Goddess Laxmi to reside in your family in the forms of good health, wealth, prosperity and serenity.

While a lot of people are staunch followers of Goddess Laxmi, many of us are not aware of the right strategy for performing a Laxmi Puja.

Here, we go with a blog for facilitating you with an ease in accomplishing your auspicious rituals excellently.

How to perform Laxmi Puja:

Start with purifying your home. To begin with, broom all the dirt and specks of dust that is evident in every nook and corner of your house. Clean your house as thoroughly as you can. Once you are done with this, purify every corner of your home with Gangajal.

It is said, that Goddess Laxmi appraises cleanliness and pure homes. Alternatively, you could also sprinkle cow’s urine in every corner of your house.

Define your platform for pooja. Majorly, the platform is always in conjunction with your Pooja room.

Once you are done with place finalisation, place a table on that zone. Spread a new cloth over the upper surface of the table. Prefer to use a red muslin cloth as it is considered to be divine for seeking blessings. Just in the centre, you need to place a few rice grains. For those who do not have rise grains, can alternatively prefer to use wheat grains.

Now you need to place a Kalash precisely at the centre of the grains you set on the table. Fill the Kalash with fresh water up to 75 per cent mark. As a token of tribute towards your deity, immerse a supari, a flower (preferably white or yellow), and a coin. If you want, you may even place a few grains in it. Once you are done with the inner stuffing, you need to place five mango leaves hanging inside out of your Kalash. The leaf placement should be such that it covers the entire mouth of your Kalash.

On the left side of the Kalash, place an idol of Goddess Laxmi sitting over a Lotus flower. You can keep some gold coins (if you have) in front of Goddess. On the right-hand side of the Kalash, place an idol of Lord Ganesh. Exactly in front of both the idols, light a diya and burn pleasing incense sticks before both of them.

Prepare a Pooja thali containing a small diya, a small coconut (alternatively a supari), some rice grains, haldi and Kumkum. Lit the diya in your thali and apply haldi-kumkum and some rice grains on the forehead of both Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi. Rotate your thali in a clockwise direction while you enchant the mantras of Ganesha and Laxmi.

Caste system – India is a land of rich cultural heritage where we have been taught by our religious literature to stay in harmony with each other. But we do follow it? Almost every religion teaches us to follow the rituals of Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam, where the entire world is your family.

Perhaps, many of us are not even aware of the term Vashudhaiv Kutumbakam.

Knowing its meaning and following it religiously is something far beyond the reach of such people.

The caste system, caste-based reservation system is one of the most critical social stigma prevailing today. Somewhere, we still lag in proclaiming us educated to represent a sovereign and democratic India on the global front. Our constitution makers were keen on introducing the caste-based reservation system to uplift those vulnerable sections of Indian society which were left behind.

The sole contributor of the caste-based reservation system is the caste system which has its ancient roots of origin. Caste system which originated in the old times bifurcated Hindu society into four strata’s by their castes and working ethics. Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras were the castes prevailing in India. It was believed that Lord Brahma was the initiator of the caste system.

Brahmins ranked higher in order with their higher levels of intellects. This stratum was believed to originate from the Brahma’s head. The next to follow them were the Kshatriyas or what we call as the warriors. Kshatriya’s were thought to evolve from the arms of Brahma. The third strata of the Hindu society arising from Brahma’s thighs were known as the Vaishyas, and finally, the fourth one’s from his feet formed the Shudras.

The prevailing caste system is an extension of this ancient system of caste. Independent India abolished the prevalent caste based on discrimination. Ahead of this abolishment, the constitution of Independent India introduced reservation quotas for the vulnerably backward strata of Indian society.

The beneficiaries of this law were the members of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes. Both the castes presents a lower status in the entire caste hierarchy system. The bill was passed with an intention to uplift this stratum to mark their social presence with a prominence. Furthermore, the reservation category was extended to include the Other Backward Castes somewhere in the year 1989.

Presently, what we see is an altogether different form of the caste-based reservation system. This system, currently, has transformed more into caste based violence. This is so because the caste-based reservation system was passed for the succeeding ten years right from the date the assembly passed it. However, to gain public sympathy and their support, caste-based reservation system still prevails in our society.

Time has come now where the high caste people are being deprived of their educational and job rights.

Today, this caste-based reservation system has acquired such a form which contradicts the existence of righty to equality entitled on every Indian citizen by our constitution. As the reservation system extends special privileges to specific strata of the society, the others are being debarred of their rights.

It has, therefore, become the need of the hour for the ruling party to evaluate whether there is still any need for the existence of caste-based reservation system in India or not. It is my sincere appeal towards our honorable government to extend this reservation system to those who thrive in hard on roads for a piece of daily bread. These people are the ones who are in dire need of reservation system to protect their rights of being human.

It is a time when we need to take a step ahead in collaboration to uplift this excluded section of the society. It is only then that our country shall genuinely owe its title of Sujalam Sufalam.

You have to struggle no matter what to reach your final destination. Sweat, sacrifice, dedication and so on are the essential factors that decide your struggle outcomes.

It is righteously said that glory clinched in without struggles doesn’t soothe the inner us.

But do that mean smart workers gain success easily?

Are hard workers not smart enough to attain their level of success? Do smart workers find a way out of putting in their extra efforts? If you are thinking on the same line, then it is not the scenario with smart workers. Existence of God – This question has been in debate since the presence of our ancestors.

Before answering this question, let us evaluate from philosophical perspectives. The very practical strata of Indian society are of the belief that what we see from eyes justifies its existence. As no two human beings are entirely alike, our philosophical predispositions too differ and that’s the true meaning of survival. For each statement made, there has to be a counter statement which analyses an incident from the other side of the coin. Other strata of Indian society are purely religious ones. When it comes to a debate between the religious strata and the practical strata on the issue of God’s existence, it is the religious strata which dominate.

Being a student and a staunch follower of the Scientific world, for me too, practical life accounts far ahead than the spiritual beliefs. But this doesn’t mean that I do not trust for the God’s existence. Even science agrees that we can’t see air but are fortunate enough to sense it. Similar is the belief in God. Those who are lucky enough to detect the presence of God believes in the existence of God. Now, assuming God doesn’t mean that we can see God or visualise his appearance. No human being present on the earth is so spiritual enough to have an interaction with God on a daily basis. So how do sense the existence of God? A big question right? Well! Let us try to decode some of these things. Who knows, possibly we might come across a surprising fact.

The complexity of the universe still prevails today as it was decades back during its initial stages of formation:

We all know the fact that the world is highly complex in its origin. As more and more our astronomers keep on digging in to unveil the beautifying mystery of our magnificent universe, the more it comes up with new ones.

Earth:

Now the question comes, as in Why do we fall ill? Well…Well….Well.!!! We fall sick when our body’s defense mechanism weakens. This means that the regular function of our immune system is impaired. Our immunity is not able to mount its flight and fight response to protect itself. When does our immune system decrease? Our  immune system decreases when we have microbial invasion within the body. This microbial invasion may either be through the air, water or the food.

Today we all so busy in earning a livelihood that we actually forget to live a happy life. We stress our selves beyond the capacity of our body. This overstress up to a particular stage seems to be good, but later when the stress limit crosses its bearing size, our body starts showing its anti defensive action. November 8, 2016 witnessed a symbolic night when the Government of India suddenly called off the 500 and 1000 rupee notes of Mahatma Gandhi series under the concept of demonetization.

To start with lets first take a snap of what Demonetization actually means?

In India, demonetization means a process which debars the currency in use from being a legal tender, whenever the need to change the national currency so arises.

This national currency change becomes the need of the hour to crack down illegal activities pertaining to the use of currency for terrorist activities or to stop the flow of black money or illegal currency in common practice.

Tracing back, the first ever demonetization India faced was back during the British rule when the government called off the denominations of 1000, 5000 and 10000 rupee notes and withdrew their status of being a legal tender. This happened somewhere in Jan 1946. However all the three denominations were re-introduced in 1954 again. In early 70’s, the then government formulated a direct tax inquiry committee which thereby suggested demonetization to elicit the black money in use. Many such demonetizations have marked the Indian history later too.

Now the Narendra Modi government called off for sudden demonetization under the collective suggestion of the Governor of Reserve Bank of India ie Mr. Urjit Patel and the Economic Affairs Secretary to counterfeit forgery. According to their reports, where the supply of notes of all denominations increased by marginal 40% between 2011-2016, 500 and 1000 denomination notes supply hiked by 76 and 109 respectively. Sources suggested that whatever fake notes were introduced as a result of forgery, were mainly used for funding the illegal activities and hence in order to curb this, demonization would be the only step.

The sudden announcement of the call off led to the notes shortages for a longer period. As the announcement was made all of a sudden, people had to rush to get their currency exchanged which was eyed stringently by the RBI. While the demonetization process was being executed by the government on a strict basis, there were anger and frustration between the people as well as the other political parties which lead to the opposition to the central government move. Not only this, the process witnessed nationwide strikes across the entire country.

Post demonetization report released by the Central Bank suggested that 97% of the total 500 and 1000 denominations that were demonetized reached back to the system indicating the failure of the government to counterfeit the black money in circulation. However the human trafficking business saw a decline in its trade as per suggested by Kailash Satyarthi, who welcomed the government move in context of curbing the child exploitation and human as well as sex trafficking though not completely but to a large extent. Even Maoist and Naxalist fell short of currency due to such a sudden dilemma. However, the scarcity of cash created a chaos amongst the local people as they had to deal with the long queues to get the notes exchanged. And many times the bank counters as well the ATM’s ran out of cash. Many people even died waiting long in queues and several causalities have been recorded too. Stock market and transportation too were disrupted due to this sudden call off.

In present context, if we talk of, demonetization did gave a lumpsum blow to the flow of fake notes somewhere however failed to curb the black money completely out of the market. As soon as the legal tenders of 2000 were released, they met an immediate clash with their counterfeits in the market. Thus the main reason behind the historic step was a complete flop. Demonetization couldn’t stand up to its words of eliminating the black money and counterfeit currency scam that persists even today.

God and Technology  – Today in this highly progressed era of mankind, we have people belonging to two different mindsets.

One half of them strongly follow God and the other half a strict disciple of the technology.

Many people do exist who follow both of them with a perfect blend of thoughts from both perspectives. Anyways….. God and Technology – the two aspects of the same coin. God who created man who developed technology and technology now in turn is in the search of God’s existence. Sounds strange? Yeah.. We are all aware of the concept of the concept of the God particle and the sound of Sun detected as “OHM” by one of the technologically well-advanced research institute NASA.

The tug of war between God and Technology is age old. Nothing new.

The follower of God believes that it is ultimately God which controls and drives everything whereas the followers of the technology are of the opinion that technology rules the world. Probably this must be because one is visible while other isn’t. Who cares? Even the air we breathe, microbes that surround us are invisible. Right? Still we blind folded believe their existence. Isn’t it funny? I mean someone just wrote something and we jus follow it. Just because it was somewhere taught in our schools and is related to our existence, we study it. But did you ever imagine what the technology actually tries to convey? It conveys the beauty of nature and the genuine efforts of Man to modify its creations for the development of mankind.

On the other hand, those believing God are of two types. Having faith in God and having faith in myths. By the way the myth word strikes resemblance with the postulates and the hypothesis we have in science. Then???Ummmm!!!! A matter of concern here. We ‘so-called educated people’ always cure the myths our customs and religions ask us to follow. We all believe it’s just a waste of time. No results. No guarantee. Nothing. I believe is as long as it doesn’t harm anyone there’s no harm to follow the myths.

For eg., let’s say not to look at the eclipse with bare eyes is one of the famous myths as per our age old thinking. Let’s for example take this assumption to be true. Even the scientific community believes that the eclipse shouldn’t be watched with bare eyes as it can harm the eyesight and the concerned person may end up being blind. Another misconception is that we should restrain from eating anything during Solar eclipse Nahi toh Suryadev Kopit Honge. Chalo for that matter even ye bhi Palle Padhta hai because eating during eclipse may be open invitation to a wide range of harmful micro-organisms to spoil your food as the direct sunlight isn’t available to destroy them by UV radiation.

Practically speaking, the war between the disciples of God and Technology is never ending one. Let’s take an example of Ganges. It is an age old myth that Ganga was cursed by Goddess Parvati that when she reaches Dharti in Kaliyug you’ll be dirty throughout or what we called Maili.

By that time just remembered the lyrics of the song “Ram Teri Ganga Maili Ho Gayi!!!Papiyon Ke Paap Dhote Reh Gayi!! Jokes apart, the technology believes that present situation of the Ganges is the by-product of the Hindu rituals which were performed fir ages. Irritated by this finally God one day decides Aj prithvi pe jake sab khatam hi kar daloonga. And now that we have the fierce battle between God and technology to prove who’s the best?

God sheds all his power over technology and technology uses all his inventions until now to smash God. Finally, they both end up ending the world. Just the two supernatural power persists with no fan following. Just a hypothetical story for change. No serious concerns.

The difference in opinion will however continue to exist between God and Technological aspects. It is we who have to make a smart choice of believing God and trusting technology for our development.
