It is no secret that Andaz Apna Apna has developed into a cult movie in India. However, did you know that it was a box office flop when it released in 1994?

Yes, the film suffered monetary setback and is considered an average grosser.

The movie gave us numerous memories to cherish over the years. From Salman Khan and Aamir Khan’s camaraderie to Shakti Kapoor’s dialogues as Crime Master Gogo and Paresh Rawal’s double role, the entire film had us in splits.

Though the movie was a box office disaster, it was received well by the critics and the audience alike. The reason behind the movie’s failure was seen as it being way ahead of its time.

The Movie Would Not Feature Salman or Aamir

Salman and Aamir were the lead actors in the film. They had their difference, as both actors needed more screen space than the other. Eventually, they agreed on the same amount of screen space. With too many hits behind them since 1994, the two actors are big enough appear together on same screen, regardless of their friendship. Egos are bound to clash.

Other Cast Members Would Cease to Exist on Screen Too

Another surprising fact about the film is that none of the lead actors were on talking terms with one another. Even the female stars Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon had their share of difference. They would definitely not want to appear on screen together again. Shakti Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Viju Khote and Shehzad Khan, who played Crime Master Gogo, Shyam Gopal Bajaj/Ram Gopal Bajaj, Robert and Vinod Bhalla, respectively, would not appear together either. These actors justified their respective roles. It would be tough to imagine any current actor stepping into their shoes.

The Director Would Be Different

In all honesty, Rajkumar Santoshi did a great job keeping a bunch of angry actors together till the film’s production ended. However, he has not been making movies frequently which would mean bringing in a new director. Chances are good that David Dhawan would want to be in on this project. He is one of the best directors when it comes to comedy and is renowned for working with Govinda on a number of projects.

The Main Cast Would Be Current Actors

With Salman, Aamir, Karisma and Raveena out, the modern day Andaz Apna Apna would require a young cast. With David Dhawan as the director, Varun Dhawan might get to play one of the lead roles; Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor might compete for the role, too. Of course, Alia Bhatt would not be far behind either. Ranbir Kapoor or Imran Khan might take up the next actor’s spot with Deepika Padukone closing the auditions with her performance approval.

The Movie Would Tank Because…

The story would be different obviously. It would also include an item number (or two more), which would be one of the primary factors for the movie making good revenue. The modern day screenplay in Bollywood has gone for a toss, when it comes to high budget movies. On the other hand, low budget movies make more sense, but do not earn much. This movie would be a big budget film and suffer the same fate as other movies such as Happy New Year or Kick. They had no material whatsoever, but were in the one hundred crore club. Though movie critics like Taran Adarsh would commend the movie, it would suck genuinely.

Hold onto their purse strings:

Yes, follow this literally! Whenever they feel like shopping, make sure they don’t have enough money to spend on stuff. This way, they won’t splurge and will only buy what they absolutely need to. It’s a good idea to set a limit on their credit and debit cards and even on one-time withdrawals, so that they don’t end up binge-spending. Because if they don’t have the means to spend, how are they going to spend, eh?

Be stern:

This works the best. Follow this rule to the T. If he/she wants to go out for a spot of fun and you know how much he/she likes hitting the shops, take a stand. Tell him/her off, shout, scold and be stern. You have to let your displeasure known, else there’s no way for your partner/friend to come out of this addiction. Whatever you do, do not encourage their habit by allowing them to go on random shopping sprees.

Fellow addicts:

You can help them form their own Shopholic Anonymous by bringing together all the addicts in your city together. You can make use of social media tools and web forums to form a gang where your partner/friend can seek professional help in a friendly environment. This is also a good way to swap stories and incidents that will help your partner grow and come out of this addiction. Don’t forget to enroll a professional therapist, else everybody would be seen shopping instead of fighting the addiction!

Mix and match:

Whenever the situation arises where your partner is longing for a trip to the stores, let them raid their closets. Urge them to mix and match stuff and wear fusion clothes/accessories/shoes/bags and so on. If they have a shopping-addiction for any other product, get them to mix and match with those also. This way, you can make it clear to them that their shopping is born out of ‘want’ than ‘need’.

Fine them!

Well, this can happen only when your partner is willing to come out of this addiction. If not, there’s nothing you can do to get them to stop being the way they are. Whenever he/she buys something that’s unnecessary, fine him/her. It could either be in cash or kind depending on the person. But be strict and sharp and get them to learn it the hard way. Kim Jong Un, the infamous North Korean Leader whose name rose in controversies for his indomitable wrath against America and brazen flexing of power in regard to it. Little did we knew, India has a fan base of Kim Jong Un who chose him as the ‘cult of personality’ whose picture, they thought has the merit to feature in their election campaigning posters. Here’s talking about Kerala CPM, a handful of communists who are apparently die-hard fans of Kim Jong Un for his ‘anti-imperialist’ stance.

It seems, Kerala CPM has found their new communist hero earning Che Guevara a breather. Hilarious as it comes, the have put up flex boards in Nedum Kandam town and Thanni Moodu in Idduki district placing the Korean autocrat’s photo next to their signature hammer and sickle logo.

The incident came into notice on Sunday leaving the CMP red-faced. It shamed the whole brand of CPM in India as the posters showed up with a picture of Kim Jong Un saluting the logo. The posters were made to announce a party gathering in the town.

There is an area committee conference slated to be held in the run-up to the quadrennial party Congress in Hyderabad around April next year.

The overly hilarious part was, the staple Marx-Lelin-Stalin Trio was missing from the posters and the Party’s district leadership was unrepentantly nonchalant about the bizarre replacement.

They however, furnished logic for backing their stance and we marvel at their limited world-view.

With little-to-no-remorse, they said, ‘Kim is the one and only communist leader who dare to challenge US President Donald Trump. He is a die-hard fighter against  American imperialism which has killed thousands while playing the role of the World’s cop. For us, that is the important thing; We do not consider other elements of Kim’s personality’.

Now that’s a serious blooper they made coming up with this announcement. The whole thing, however was mouthed by CPM District secretariat member PM Vijayan, as per the reports of The Times Of India

However, the district party office seemed to be singing in a different tune. They divulged to the Indian Express that they are downright embarrassed by whatever happened and that happened at the regional level as local workers had put the posters up without intimating them about it.

The posters were soon removed after they sparked quite the furore in the media after grabbing attention of some senior party members. The workers, who have gone to this length, are still outside the custody.

BJP’s Sambit Patra was the first politician who expressed his antagonizing views on the CPI(M) faux pas and hurled taunts on their rival party in Kerala. He said, he is smelling a rat that the CPI(M) might be plotting a missile launch at the RSS, BJP offices.

Kim Jong Un, who made North Korea a reclusive country where 11 musicians were killed allegedly for making a porn video contrary to which young girls are forcefully made to absorb into sex slavery, guards are given the immunity to drown a woman’s face in a bucket full of water whose baby’s wails angered them. Oh God, trust me; it is the most irritating situation to be in. Have you ever been in a situation where two of you are chatting with each other, conversation is going smooth, but suddenly, the person you’re talking to stops replying your text & you’re like “WTH? Why is this person not replying me even though they’ve SEEN my message (blue ticks)

Ugh, I know, this type of situation is the worst one to experience.

When we’re caught up in this mess, there are many thoughts that keep coming in our mind. Here, listed below are some of them.

1. Why this person isn’t replying me?

First thought that comes to mind is, why the person stopped replying. Like seriously, everything was going so smooth, conversation was interesting etc, then why?

2. Am I that boring?

Even though we shouldn’t, we blame ourselves thinking “maybe this person got bored.” You know; it happens a lot, right? We have this bad habit of blaming ourselves.

3. Did this person dropped the phone?

Yeah, we say shit like this. I mean, deep down we know that nothing such happened but yet, to feed our mind with reasons, we always say this shit.

4. Should I text something interesting?

Yeah we FEEL that maybe sending an interesting text or maybe copy pasting a joke will turn the situation into better. Sometimes we do this thing & still the person doesn’t reply. What happens next? Oh God, we keep saying “I shouldn’t have done that because now the person will think I’m a despo.”

5. Maybe this person is busy on FB

Just to be sure, we open FB and then we check whether so & so person is online or not.

6. Maybe sleep ruined it all

AFTER 2 hours, we think maybe this person is sleeping. So yes, I’ll wait till morning.

7. Maybe *Whatsapp Calling* will help

Oh shit, I shouldn’t have done that. IF this person ask me “why was I calling?” I’ll reply “Oh it happened bymistakely.’”

8. THIS ISN’T FAIR

When it gets too much, we end up saying “Alright, this isn’t FAIR now.” “I’m not going to talk to this person ever again.”
