Disclaimer: Youngisthan.in do not intend to criticize or hurt any religious sentiments. This post is informative and the opinions are that of the writer.

Sokushinbutsu: This ritual is no longer in practice but in the 11th and 19th century, the Biddist monks in Northern Japan practiced this process of austerity till death or mummification.

Buddhist mummies were referred to as the ‘Bodhisatvas’ i.e. deliberately not allowing the body to decompose. It is a belief that the Buddhist monk was able to mortify his flesh and hence even after death the body was still deliberately kept.

The practice of austerity till death was not suicide for the Buddhists at that time. Today none of the Buddhists follow this practice and it is banned in Japan.

Well that was Japan but India is known for carrying harsh rituals in the name of traditions.

Sallekhana/ Santhara/ Samadhi-marana/ Sanyasana-marana:

Whatever is the name the practice is very drastic and more shocking is the fact that it still prevails in our country.

In this ritual the person fasts till death. It is in Jainism.

As per reports every year on an average 240 Jains fast till death in our country.

What suicide???

Hell no…this according to them is the way of burning karma.

Who is allowed to undergo this process?

Physically fit person is not allowed. Here more importance is given to the mental stature than physical being. You may be suffering from a terminal disease but if you are mentally prepared to sacrifice all the worldly pleasures then you would be allowed to perform this process.

Prayopavesa:

This is again a similar practice of fasting till death in Hinduism.

November 2001:

Satguru Sivaya Subramaniyaswami had subjected himself to ‘Prayopavesa’. He died on the 32nd day of his fast.

Please note I am not speaking against any religion or do not intend to hurt any sentiments. I am just raising some genuine concerns.

In a country where ‘Eutheneia’ is debated these practices go on in the name of religion…are we deliberately being blind?

Is there any science behind such practice?

There was a time when even ‘Sati practice’ was carried out in the form of a ritual. Today that practice doesn’t exist anymore.

It is high time rational thinking takes the center stage.

Since eternity, the argument is all about how girls don’t have brains and they are only concerned about beauty and blah blah blah! What we think instead is that girls do have brains and vanity or self love is a birthright of both the sexes.

How many of you do exercise that right, huh?

The Self-love Phenomenon

To be honest, from the time this selfie phenomenon on social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp etc. has taken the world by storm, a lot of skeletons have fallen out of the cabinet. Yes, the self-love is all out now waiting for appreciation, admiration and seduction. Of course it all started with girls taking sexy pictures, initially, fully clothed, in their bathrooms with a pout! The trend slowly shifted towards wearing shorter sexy clothes and poses, which showed the curvy figure as well, thereby enticing so many men to fall in love with the girl just by looking at her picture!

The Entry of The Bathroom

The trend continues, but then men also got an idea that they are also handsome and smart and need some love and cheering up. Hence, the run to the bathroom was expedited with the sole objective of showing the world what one got beneath those clothes! Where else can one expect to flaunt their beauty except in the privacy of a bathroom, standing right in front of the mirror and spending hours in clicking selfies!

No, not everyone has six-pack abs, but those who do, what’s the harm in showing off? Now we have so many guys displaying their well tone bodies making girls go “whoa” sitting in front of their laptops and ogling at beefed up male physique! And those who don’t have that well toned body, they found an innovative way too; just have a head shot or a picture till the chest level to hide that little paunch down there while still seducing the opposite sex!

Good or Bad?

Frankly speaking, this is all good and actually a welcome change! Self-love is important and then only you can love others. Also, if the desire to click a sexy selfie showing off a great body makes one join the gym or is a motivating factor to maintain good health, nothing better than that!

So who looks good in those selfies? Women with their usual pouty pictures with full on make up or guys with their toned-not toned bodies, yet trying their best to charm?

Do share your opinions with us! We would like to know who wins the battles of selfies?

And yes, keep clicking those selfies, the bathroom mirror is waiting for you!

Rape is a crime while sex is an act of pleasure.

Rape:

Before even talking about this gruesome crime we need to discuss sex. Yes for some weird reason rape and sex are mixed topics in our country.

Sex is considered a taboo. People aren’t educated about sex properly.

Sex needs to be seen and discussed beyond safety issues and rape.

Sexual needs aren’t discussed and embraced openly. Hence we remain ignorant.

Previously when I posted an article on sex it was purely aimed at initiating and broadening people’s mindsets about topics like pre-marital sex and live-in relations but all the comments on that post were only talking about rape.

Yes not denying that rape happens and even false allegations happen.

But when someone is talking about sex, why do we tend to link it with rape? The act of making love is either a taboo or a crime.

Why can’t it be seen as a beautiful pleasurable experience that two adults indulge in?

Bollywood industry also somehow used sex as a tool to depict gruesome crime scenes. People didn’t have access to sex so these scenes became their only way of exposure. Crime scene became a mode of entertainment and was used as a tool to titillate the audience. It worked because we didn’t get to see sex otherwise.

Quite amusing censor boards never encouraged sex scenes but it was all right to show gruesome rape scenes. We all remember the famous rapists Ranjeet, Shakti Kapoor, etc. the list is endless.

Skin show only meant by tearing girl’s clothes. So when a girl chose to wear a bikini it was assumed she is asking for it.

In real life our society deprived us from sex and hence reel life crime scene became the only outlet of emotions.

Somehow we all are highly baffled about rape and sex. Rape talks seem to be the only way we talk about sex. But intercourse and physical intimacy can happen without force also.

It is very important to have a proper understanding of sex firstly, have discussions about physical intimacy, broaden outlook about such subjects.

It is important to have the discussion of intercourse without linking it with rape, safety issues, torture, etc. The demarcation between the two topics is somehow so blurred that people just can’t imagine the act of sex as a pure sensual topic of discussion.

Neither you are a college student nor are you a seasoned professional. You have discovered a few things in life but are confused about a lot of other things.

It is a very interesting stage in your life wherein you can mould yourself into your future self or the kind of person you wish to become.

Here are 7 Things to do before 25.

Things to do before 25 –

Understand the value of love

You might be someone who had several relationships in the past or you could be someone who has never dated in life. Regardless of your relationship status or what you have experienced in the past, this is the time when you need to be clear about your ideas about love andhow you see it.

Get serious about your career

Our school or college grades can only help us reach a certain point in our lives. After that point, how we take our career forward and grow as a professional depends on the way we perform in the real battle field. You had your share of fun in college and you will have many opportunities to enjoy life in the future too but under no circumstance should you neglect your work.

Do something for your parents

If you have already started working and earn a fair amount of money, do not blow it up all on yourself. Try to save a part of it for your parents. Your parents must have made a lot of sacrifices and given up on their dreams to make yours come true. Now, it is time for you to make sure that they get to fulfil some of their wishes too.

Liking a girl is not really the main issue here but pursuing her despite her rejection turns out to be ugly. Guys think that if they constantly keep trying then the ‘no’ would turn into ‘yes’.

‘Ladki patana’ is like a subject that men take pride in mastering. Well there are times where such constant measures of hitting on a girl can lead to really grave consequences and traumatic experiences for the girls.

Persuading a girl in the neighborhood:

Our society tends to judge a girl before the guy. When a girl is raped it is usually concluded that she asked for it. Similarly when a guy is hitting on a girl, people in the society easily tend to mark her character and might even go to an extent of tagging her with horrific names (wh*re, sl*t, etc.)

Constantly when a guy follows a girl in the neighborhood; firstly he is invading her privacy and secondly people tend to judge the girl. Moreover when the girl doesn’t pay heed to the boy, people pity the boy’s plight and conclude her of having an attitude problem.

Hitting on a girl at work:

This is the worst situation for any woman. Already working women face the challenge of proving their skills at work. Our society has still not accepted the concept of women working and earning for themselves. Firstly it is the society that they need to fight and then to be in the man’s world is really not easy. If you tend to succeed instantly and by coincidence if your boss also happens to be a man then you are easily rumored to be sleeping or physically satisfying your boss to reach your career heights.

In such an environment if a guy (boss/ colleague) keeps pursuing the girl then it becomes a mental torture. Office affairs are not unknown but when the woman says no and the guy still pursues then it gets murky.

Hitting your sister-in-law:

This is again a common case and is probably the worst scenario for any woman. If the perpetrator is outside he can still be tackled but if the predator is within the family then the woman becomes extremely helpless.

Especially when the person in question is the husband’s brother, which would mean the strong bond between the two brothers. No woman would want to be the reason for any fight between two brothers. Mostly our society is structured in a way that even after marriage the wife still continues to face hardships gaining acceptance at her in-laws. If such kind of an incident takes place then it becomes extremely difficult for the woman. She can’t reveal to her husband about his brother.

In the name of protection the brother-in-law would have his vested interest and try to accompany the girl places where her husband might not be able to make it. She can’t deny, can’t go with him, can’t tell her husband about it, etc. the dilemma that a girl goes through in such a situation is really pathetic.

When the guy friend never understands that he can never be the boyfriend:

This gets really irritating. It is a very common Indian mind-set that a girl and a guy can’t be friends. Just because a girl is sharing her deepest secrets and may be even being physically comfortable with a guy friend doesn’t mean she sees him like a boyfriend. Some guys don’t understand this. They might have spent really good time but if the girl finds her man then this reality isn’t very well accepted by the friend.

He would secretly hope for them to break-up or would go to any extent to do that.

Below is a song from the movie ‘Mere yaar ki shaadi hai’ where the bachelor party turns into a nightmare for the couple.

When a young boy keeps going behind a woman:

Juveniles are no exception to eve-teasing. When matured men don’t understand a girl’s denial then what can we even expect from young boys in their teens? Moreover our films also have had such bad impacts that men are born with the intention of pursuing till the girl gives in.

For example check out this song ‘Lakh Lakh’ from the movie ‘Kambakkht Ishq’. Akshay Kumar literally harasses Kareena Kapoor in public but hey he is the hero!!

Such depictions in popular media have built the stereotype and even kids grow up thinking it is cool to harass women.

At such young age they tend to believe whatever they see. It is very important that the society learns to respect women and the space.

Nobody in this world has the right to invade that space. Liking a person is a very beautiful feeling indeed but men should also need to be mature enough to handle rejection. A woman should never pay the price for a feeling the guy develops.

The main problem is some men can’t handle rejection.

There is no set limit for fun and laughter in a bachelorette. You have plenty of occasions to flaunt your fancy dresses, so let’s hold it for your bachelorette. Funny costumes always add spice to the show and makes you less conscious for your outfits. This helps you to involve fully to the events and enjoy more.

3 Fun in the air:

Before you get yourself dressed in perfect bride/groom outfit and swear on the name of love, the vows, it’s time for some fun. Drinks are always complimentary along with crazy games as discussed above. Pool parties, discos, clubs, pubs and even farmhouse are prefer as the venue over hotels and other areas that restricts in respect to place and noise.

4 Crazy photoshoot:

How can you bid good bye to your happening bachelorhood without making memories and preserving them. Photoshoot with your bestfriends, close akin, colleagues and all those who made your life a little easy, is must. This may not be your last night out but indubitably of your being bachelor. Make sure you grab all the possible opportunity to make it a memorable one.

5 License to all, for last:

Now, since you will be having a spouse soon, a family you would be responsible for and lots of expectations, that will limit you to many things forsure. So this is the last time you have the liberty to enjoy your bachelorhood and as the matter of fact you would be having license to all the things, make sure only the legal one to do. Enjoy it and yes you don’t have to worry about how it looks. What seems to be ugly is real, remember.

What adds more vigour to your bachelorette is probably not just the fact that you will ring your bells soon, but the fun of things you can only enjoy at your bachelorette. Yes, as discussed earlier, your life changes after marriage, especially when you live in India. For Indian, marriage is coming together of two families than just the partners. So before you enter to the new phase of your life, celebrate a big time and let your people know it’s your bachelorette.

There has been a sudden increase in the involvement of youth in all the sectors of the nation. There remains no doubt, as to why the youth today is considered the strongest advocates of society and an important part of the government to be.

Talking about the contribution of youth in the education sector, a number of non governmental organisations that have opened up are a venture by the youth. There are organisations opened by the youth, for the youth and empowering the youth, for example, Teach India. Why is it that for most of these NGOs we talk of, the founder is a youth? Not because, they had a lot of moolah to spend on, but because the issues of the country made them take a step towards development.

The issues of unemployment and illiteracy struck the chords of few people(now founders) to an extent that, they took a profound step to open up these organisations. Taking a step for those who can, but aren’t able to, or who couldn’t adhere to those opportunities, is a big step towards change.

The reason why the Lok Sabha elections in India, is considered as the Godfather of all elections until date. Never in the history of India has the internet been used so vastly by the politicians to promote their portfolios. Never in the history of India has the youth been so indulged in politics. Never in the history of India, has politics seen this great number of young voters. Call it the power of internet or the realization of the power of voting, but never in the history of India, has the elections created this big a hype. Unfortunately, we can’t really say that politics as a career has a strong hold on the youth.

Coming over to the employment sector, a number of jobs have emerged, which the youth can take up even while studying. And the source of these jobs is again the youth itself. Probably, helping each other with resources and barter, is what they consider as the best deal. There is not a single startup, wherein the brainstorming hasn’t been done by a youth. Employment setups, be it a DJ in pub or a language tutor in a coaching class, whatsoever profession we talk of, has been created by the youth.

Youth voice – Today, wherever and whichever sector we can think of, is associated and being led by youth. The personality cult has thus, left an amplifying mark on the society. There is a reason why do people call the younger generation as the leaders, entrepreneurs and a change-agent for tomorrow.

Youth voice – More power to Youngsters!

Most of the young individuals in India strive for the best today and are not merely satisfied with mediocre results.

But as every young Indian takes a step forward in the global world, he needs to learn and absorb a few things.

Here are 7 Things young Indian needs to learn –

Things young Indian needs to learn

Gender no bar

Even in 21st century, in a developing country like India, people are discriminated based on their gender. It is high time we get rid of gender biases and understand that a country progress only when both men and women are given equal opportunities and are encouraged to do all that they want to do in life. Young people should also not discriminate between themselves because of gender.

Do not rush into marriage

In Indian society, people start pestering you to get married as soon you hit early or mid-20s. Whether you are a young man or a woman, do not let people coerce you into getting married before you are ready. Apart from being ready to take the responsibilities that come with marriage, you must also find the right person whom you would be happy to share your entire life with.

Career is important

A lotof young people start taking things a little lightly as they grow up. While it is okay to indulge in some fun and enjoy the brightest days of your life, you must, under no circumstance, lose focus on your career. You must maintain a fine balance between your personal and professional life but should not neglect work.

Parents

Most young people move out of their homes once they go to a different city for higher studies or to work. You might be miles away from your parents but you must always make time to talk to them every day and be well-informed about their well-being. You are the most important person in their lives.

Time management

As a young individual, you will have a lot of things to do in a day. Apart from dealing with immense work pressure, you have to make time for your friends and partner. Every day you should chalk out a proper schedule and make a list of the things you have to accomplish in a day. Design the schedule in a way that you do not end up missing out on any task or activity.

Goal driven

You should strive to live a life that is driven by one or a few important goals. It is important to introspect and figure out what you want to achieve in life. You should, then, try to take a step forward in that direction every day. You should not wait for a particular day to do something significant or big. Small steps would help you realise your dreams one day.

Keep your feet on the ground

There will be times when you will achieve something big and that will put you in a state of elation. You will want to celebrate your success and let the whole world know about it. There is nothing wrong in that but you should never let success get to your head. Life is a long journey and there will be many successes and failures.

These are the Things young Indian needs to learn – As a child, you must have heard your parents telling you that if you build your base well, you will face no difficulties as you grow up and move forward in life. A few well-learnt lessons go a long way in helping you shape as a good human being and propel you forward to achieve your dreams.

Now that you’re here, I’ll assume that you think your LIFE is MEANINGLESS. Let me add, you’re NOT the only one caught up in this mess. There are so many like you out there who think that they’re LOST and nowhere in LIFE. I’m not even going to say that “everything you FEEL is OK or you know; chalta hai & stuff.”

Honestly; I’ll tell you what you should do.

But hey, let me add, that in the end, it’s all about you and what you think about doing it. The main question is, “WHY?” Why do you think that your LIFE is empty and dull? Many don’t know the answer to this question and I would say that’s Ok. But just in case; you know what’s wrong then you need to change it. Frankly; based on my experience, I think many Feel that their Life is empty because they FEAR change. Secondly, I think they Feel so because they FOCUS on other’s happiness and then compare it with their own.

FEAR OF CHANGE AND COMPARISON are really, really dangerous. But hey; YOU can beat that. You can change everything to add meaning in your LIFE. I don’t know your background but I know that we all have problems in LIFE. Sometimes, they’re heavy and they make us a loser. But remember the popular saying “this too shall pass.” It isn’t going to swipe rightly but you’ve to put an EFFORT. Once you Figure out why your LIFE is meaningless, you work on changing it. On the other end, IF you don’t know why you FEEL so weak, then bring changes.

You don’t like something, take a step and change it.

You know; procrastination also plays a big part in this mess. Sometimes, we know what we should do but we procrastinate into not doing it. Honestly; that’s one thing that keeps us behind and sad.

Second thing is comparison that kills us. Remember, when you compare YOURSELF with others and it makes you FEEL a weak person, then problem is with you. Stop checking their Instagram stories, their FB posts or anything and everything that’s related to them.

JUST DON’T DO IT.

What happens is, sometimes we see their LIFE and then we compare it with our LIFE and we make things worse by calling our LIFE meaningless. Comparison is the worst, so avoid it.

To bring back meaning in your LIFE, do this.

BEAT THE FEAR

AVOID COMPARISON

FIND OUT “WHY” YOU THINK LIFE IS MEANINGLESS

WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT

TAKE A STEP AND WELCOME CHANGE

DO NOT PROCASTINATE

THINK POSITIVE ALWAYS.

You know; you should always be happy by appreciating the LIFE you have. Others know what they want in life but it’s Kinda okay if you don’t. Maybe you’re yet to FIND IT. And you know; damn what others think, just do your thing. To be honest; I do, sometimes FEEL the same as you do. I’ve been there in that mess and I’m thankful that I pulled myself out of that negativity. You know what; you can do it too. In the end; you know yourself better.

You know the changes you want and you know what will bring you happiness. ‘

Life Is Meaningless : So, bring back the meaning by trying new things. Take baby steps, because that’s how you learn to take big steps later. So now, try your best to remove the “LESS” from “MEANING-LESS” and be happy.

We all have certain dreams, aspirations and aims which are more related to what we want to do but the reactions from the society makes it impossible for us to go ahead with them.

People often call such people as the ‘Bad Elements’ of the society but according to me, this is exactly what we should be.

Let’s cut the crap and come to the point, today I’ll be taking about a trend-setter, a badass, a man of his dreams, a tattoo artist, an artist and an achiever. I am talking about Tattoographer Karan- King who is the first in 1.3 billion Indian to get his Eyeballs Tattooed. Yes, you heard that right. He got the white part of his eyes colored with black color. Leaving aside the eyeball ink, King also has 22 piercings on his body and is on the way of getting a full body-suit tattoo which will cover him entirely. He says that the first tattoo he ever got was when he was just 13 years old and started making tattoos when he was 16 years old but back then, it was just a hobby for him. Today it’s his passion!

Though a lot of doctors have argued upon the adverse effects of getting the eyeball tattooed, Karan on the other hand says that he agrees that the risk is involved and hence, people should get it done from trained professionals and tattoo artist. He got his tattoo from Howard Smith from New York, who is the person who invented eyeball tattoos and has inked around 100 people in the eye. Karan says that he has no regrets for getting his eyes colored as it was something he always planned to do and did a lot of homework before getting it done. He also confessed that he debated for a long time with his family and friends before getting it done.

According to him the inking procedure feels like hot needles getting pricked in the eyes at a fast pace, it takes around 40 pricks in the eyes to get it covered in the color entirely. This 28 years old wild-heart is becoming an inspiration for a lot of people not only in the aspect of tattoos and piercings but in the aspect of following ones dreams. A lot of people have been criticizing his deed but he has only one reply for his haters and that is “I was about to be dislike for my accomplishment anyways and still I did it because I wanted it; my eyes; my happiness; my life”. Isn’t this the best reply ever? Karan has broken stereotypes in a country like India which is in it-self a very big achievement.

We are proud of Tattoographer Karan – King for standing and living-up for his dreams. He is an inspiration no matter what, people will always have a problem with everything you do but at the end of the day what should matter to you is YOUR OWN HAPPINESS.

You grow up.

You complete school education, then college, and then you FACE the world. You take decisions on your own and you live your LIFE the way you want to. Just like your other friends, you start looking for a job and then LIFE just begins. At one point, you realize that whatever you’re doing is not really the thing you should be doing. But still, you continue with it because you don’t understand “what to do next?” You know what; you’re NOT the only one in this. I’ve been there and I know how much this feeling sucks. You know; 20’s are really hard. Yeah, some are lucky because they know what to do and they’re doing it too. But others who have no idea about it, feel trapped and confused in life.

Honestly, people who’ve achieved things in LIFE, sometimes feel the same thing. Yes, even they question about their existence. Even they say “I don’t know what to do in my LIFE.” Sometimes we pick a career and later ends up knowing that “This isn’t going to work.” We take wrong decisions in LIFE and that’s something that we cannot ignore. Now that you’re reading this, I’ll assume that you’re in the same boat and you have no idea where you’re going. I would say, do not stop.

Well, it’s OKAY if you have no idea about what to do. The best you can do is, try things out i.e. do a job and see IF that brings you happiness. You don’t like it, do something else. In the end, you’ll reach your destination. I mean, you’ll get a place that’ll make you believe that this is something you want to do the rest of your life. Changes will happen and let them. Go through changes and make your journey interesting. To be honest; maybe the next thing you’ll choose to do will not make you happy either. But c’mon, experience it. Who knows you might even love it.

NEVER STOP TRYING.

Get motivated by going through changes. Do not FOCUS on others. IF you cannot ignore ‘em, that’s FINE too but don’t compare your LIFE with theirs. In life, things will keep happening. Bad ones too. But, you need to accept ‘em. I still FEEL sometimes that I wasted my LIFE and stuff. But I know I’m not giving up on me and that’s my biggest win. I mean, you should accept things to move ahead in LIFE.

DO IT.

Sometimes when I’m depressed, I Google to find out whether there are people like me or not. I Google to know how people figured out what to do in life. Surprisingly; I stumbled upon best answers and they made me strong. Don’t believe me? Read these answers –

I actually made a list of the things I did NOT want to do. Since this eliminated almost 90% of the viable career-paths available to me, it made it much easier to choose. It’s a good place to start. – MAKE A LIST ABOUT WHAT “NOT” TO DO.

I’m 32. What I want changes every five years. Right now I want to go back to school and move into this adorable house in the middle of some forest my family owns. Who knows where I’ll be in five years. – CHANGE KEEPS HAPPENING.

The problem most people have is, they think you have to know what you are doing with your life. When really, most people learn that you just keep going… until you don’t. – SO TRUE.

I’m 22, and my problem isn’t that I don’t have any ideas, it’s that I have far too many ideas about what I want to do with my life. – THAT’S THE POINT!

You know what; once you’re done reading this, make a list about what you’re not interested to do. This will help you A LOT to understand about the things to avoid so that you don’t waste your time on ‘em. And yes, sometimes you don’t know what to do because you’re good at too many things i.e. it can be photography, dancing, singing or writing anything…One at a time, do it and try ‘em out. What makes you happier and fills your pocket might be the thing you can continue with. Most importantly; remind YOURSELF that you don’t have to compare your life with others.

Comparison damages LIFE.

Plus doesn’t matter IF the job is small, do it if you’re interested and get an experience. It’ll take time, maybe years but don’t give up.

I know that at one point; money becomes really important. You might even have to do a job that you’re least interested in to make money. In this situation, try to do a side thing that brings you happiness. Continue with it and who knows, tomorrow you might start getting paid for it. It’s all about trying. Take advantage of opportunities.

Confused In Life – Overall, try things out. It’s OK if you end up not liking the job, at-least you’ve learned about what you shouldn’t do in future. Next time; try something else and its okay if you hate that one too. Just keep trying and one day, you’ll get the result.

These people are an integral part of our society and matter as much as any straight person does but the problem in here is the acceptance.

First of all I need to ask this to people, what is society basically?

A group of people who have different thinking than you, they have a problem with your way of living, they have a remark on everything you do and they set certain measure which are said to be ethical in terms of being social enough and yes, THEY DON’T MATTER. Who is society to accept or not accept the LGBT category of people? Who gave them the right? Why do we even care about them?

A lot of people from this category are living hell of a life because they are scared of the reactions that society would give them which certainly disgust me to a massive level. Though they are part of a free society they have never really experienced freedom. We, the people of the Indian society should be ashamed for raising a question on someone’s existence only because of their gender or hormonal function. Besides people who have been hiding beneath the bodies they have been given by default, there are some who have guts and power to express it to people in a very courageous manner. This is another story which has inspired a lot of more like him.

There is this 21 years old boy from Mumbai named Nakshatra Bagwe and he is GAY.

He has been fighting his internal feelings and hormonal turmoil since a very young age. He was 14 years old when he noticed his attraction towards boys which obviously wasn’t normal for him so inspite of telling it to his friends and family he took the help of the internet to see if he’s the only case like that or there are others like him. To his surprise he found out that there are a lot like him but that didn’t give him enough courage to speak it out to his parents and friends.

Years passed and he dated some people from his gender but then, there was an incident which literally shattered his world into pieces. He lost his boyfriend in a car accident which jolted him to the core. He was badly hurt but decided to move on and also got into some more relationships after that.

It was getting too much for him to handle as he used to feel uncomfortable when his male friends used to talk about females in front of him.

One day when he reached the rim of his tolerance, he decided to tell it to his parents but as soon as he told them they were absolutely devastated as obviously it wasn’t easy for them to tolerate something like this from their 21 years old son and hence, they started growing apart. Recently Nakshatra made the first-gay-themed short movie of India named ‘Logged-Out’ and also won an international prize for that, this made his parents really proud of him and they accepted him the way he is with open arms after watching the movie.

The entire family used to discuss openly about LGBT rights and hormones and everything which is involved in this scenario. In fact his parents started shutting everyone who said badly about their son no matter if they were relatives or friends; they kept everybody shut on this topic.

Nakshatra used to organize certain gay parades for which his mother started supporting him.

The best memory of him during the entire acceptance process was that one day during a gay parade his mother accompanied him holding a banner which said “I AM PROUD OF MY GAY CHILD”.

When asked about his future plans and his dream he said that he wants to find a nice boy for himself, get married to him in the traditional Hindu manner with a great pomp-and-show, adopt a stray dog and also a child after some months of their marriage. He also said that right now, he is majorly focusing on his career. Isn’t this so beautiful?

This is the best thing any parent can do for their LGBT child. Acceptance from his family made his life a lot easier than it ever was. A simple gesture of acceptance is all that people need and in this case acceptance plays a very crucial role. I hope this story acts as a motivation for all the other parents as this is a natural phenomenon and people who go through this should not be made feel guilty about it.

Are you unhappy in your life? Do you always end up getting unhappy, no matter what you do to feel good? Do you feel that the things that are happening in your life are only bringing unhappiness in life? Honestly, why are you unhappy? Is it because your parents told you that they’re not proud of you? Is it because you don’t have any friends? Is it because you are missing someone who doesn’t care about your existence?

Hey, what are you doing to change that? Change – yes, this question will always be there.

You know, sometimes, life really, really gets hard. Sometimes, we feel that there’s no point in living a life that has no happiness in it. You know what; frankly, I will tell you “why” you are feeling so unhappy. But, in the end, make sure to do the change, otherwise you’ll feel stuck in the same boat of unhappiness.

Listen; there are so many things that keep happening every day. There are so many problems i.e. relationship/ money/ work etc. It’s all your responsibility to find happiness in all the chaos that you’re experiencing. No matter what; be happy. Look, you’ll be unhappy again. Yes, that’s the truth and you can’t ignore that. Life knows how to surprise people, so get ready for everything. Get ready to be broken; unbroken, broken…it keeps on repeating. But, you need to find the spark, you need to do it for yourself, because no one’s going to come towards you and sell happiness. At times; you might also end up in a situation where you feel things are going great, but why am I feeling unhappy (?) The feeling of emptiness will keep you awake and it’ll consume your time.

In the end, it’s your responsibility to fight that feeling by changing your thinking. I don’t know what’s happening in your life RN, but I want you tell you the things that you might be doing wrong.

Ask yourself – Am I comparing myself to others? If you are, then you need to stop it. I did the same thing, but then I realized that by doing that I’m self-sabotaging myself. You need to stop comparing yourself to the ones who have friends, who are making more money than you in life.

Doing so will make you think that you’re useless – Yes, that happens a lot.

If you’re judging yourself negatively, then I don’t think you’ll be able to feel good. Look, when we judge ourselves, we mainly focus on our flaws negatively, and that ruins our mood.

So, don’t do it.

Sometimes, change is necessary. It’s important to get out of the comfort zone, it’s important to do something that makes you happy. It’s important to change. What happens is, sometimes we know that we need change, but we don’t do it because we think about others.

Be brave to deal with unhappiness. Be brave to accept things. Be brave to face your problems, instead of running from them. FIND SOLUTIONS, even though no one’s helping you out.

Don’t wait for others to make you happy. Just DON’T. Gift yourself happiness by loving the things that you have. Accept it or try to get out of it. Do it for yourself. Let others talk, talk, and talk.

But, remember, it’s your responsibility to make yourself happy.

BEING HAPPY IS EASY – JUST BELIEVE IT.

Now, no matter what it is, share your unhappiness, so that we can talk. Most importantly, don’t just read these written words for the sake of reading, but take them seriously.

Letter For All The Unhappy People – Share your thoughts on “how to be happy” in the comment section below, so that it’ll help people.

We belong to the 90s generation which now is two decades away and that generation has become really old school for the youth of today. But in the 90s, we knew how to live life. Today’s young generation have their faces immersed in the six inches I-Phone screens and are completely taken over by the virtual world.

Let’s find out what are the Issues of youth and what is plaguing the present youth.

Issues of youth –

Losing Collective identity

Yes, they are losing it all. Now nobody seems to care what epidemic is affecting which part of the world or which country is at war with whom. All they are concerned about is themselves and themselves only. What more, most of today’s youth are completely oblivious to the hardships of life.

Broken families

There was a time when people actually made an effort to make marriages work and sort out their differences. Today, its all about who gets divorced at which age. Nobody seems to give the marriage a try and spends more time cheating on their partners than hey spend at home. Children are the most affected by this disruptive families and it takes a toll of their personality development as well.

Drugs and alcohol

This seems to be affecting every single youth, aged 13 to 18. Youngsters today have forgotten what it is to go out into the garden and play fun games. Now their games are Clash of Clans and Counter Strike and their friends get-together means drugs, weed and alcohol.

Materialism

When we were children, we didn’t even bother to look at price tags or brands to wear clothes and shoes. We wore whatever our parents brought us, even if it was from the streets. The youth today, with so much of brand awareness all around, seem to be drawn towards luxurious brands because that would mean they belong to the upscale modern generation.

Early puberty and maturity

Whether they know what it is all about, they don’t seem to bother much. Children of 10-11 years are getting intimate with their partners, only because everyone else is doing it.

Violence in school

I mean, what is that all about? Students are carrying guns to school, molesting others, raping women if they say no to them and of course, there is bullying which has grown manifold since the last generation.

Obesity

Fast food and junk foods have lead to obesity being a growing epidemic in this world. More than 40% of the world’s youth are dangerously obese and without being aware of what dangers it holds.

Economy

Some have jobs and some don’t, owing to the failing economy of the world. Many youth are sitting at home unemployed due to the sheer lack of jobs and money to pay them.

Poverty

Most people have no idea that more than 50% of the world’s population is completely immersed in poverty and that they hardly get a square meal a day.

Education disparity

Last but probably the most important is this aspect. Only the proper rich people somehow get more amenities and facilities at school while middle class people don’t. middle-class people do not receive the same schooling like rich people do, which is why they are left half-educated and thereby, jobless.

These are the Issues of youth – It is very important to draw attention to these issues and acquaint people with them.

So we encounter everything, great or terrible, with expanded levels of power. This has prompted to some extremely intriguing exploration on the impacts of being popular or being unpopular in school. So, when you are unpopular in you school, does it impact you in any way in future?

Yes, it does and you would agree with the same after listening to how this guy regrets not being popular in school.

He went on to Quora to describe how being unpopular in school affected him in future, here have a look:
“I wasn’t exactly unpopular in high school, but I was very socially awkward. I ran with the nerd crowd and had absolutely no traction with the ladies whatsoever. Towards senior year I found a few avenues to express myself — sports, music, theater — and made an effort to branch out socially. I’m glad I did, and regret not getting started sooner.”

The Regret

Being unpopular in school and not having a strong peer group in early adolescence made it hard to do the necessary developmental work of differentiating from my parents and figuring out who I was.

I wasn’t always getting good social cues from my nerdy peers, and I didn’t feel safe experimenting around them — they were just as anxious and desperate to please authority figures as I was. As a result, when I went to college and started feeling safe enough to do the adolescent rebellion thing, I carried it way overboard. Instead of being too timid to try drinking or weed, I colossally binged. Instead of being too dorky to make a move on a girl, I threw myself at them thoughtlessly and immaturely (when I could make a move at all.)

Some of my adolescent rebellion carried over long past the point of it being age appropriate, and to this day I’m still sorting out my authority issues. It’s all worked itself out in the end; I’m happily married (to my great surprise) and am going after my dreams with a (mostly) confident sense of self. But it was a difficult climb to get here. I had to build my emotional and social intelligence more or less from scratch in adulthood.

The effect

I know the popular kids had their share of drama and misery, but at least they could look to their clique for support and a sense of identity. Some of the tightest cliques from my high school are alive and well twenty years later. I’m friendly on an individual level with just about everyone from my class at this point, but it’s mostly on the Facebook level. I appear to be constitutionally incapable of belonging to tribes and clubs (except on the internet.)
The lone-wolf thing is great for maintaining a skeptical and iconoclastic mindset. It’s fueled my artistic and intellectual ambitions, and is the basis for my entrepeneurial spirit. I love being alone, which is wonderfully conducive to creative work and introspective writing. But relationships outside my family and close friends can be a challenge, and I would wish to have had an earlier start learning those kinds of emotional skills.”

Yes, being unpopular in school can be a little negative for your future, but there is always scope for a change in personality. If you weren’t popular then, you can be now.

The world is full of wrong doings these days and all we see around us is malign.

This is why the society needs a change and it won’t appear like a magic, each one of us need to start from our own home. As we know, we always bear what we sow and that’s what we need to keep in mind. If you want to play a part in making this world a better place, there are some things that parent needs to teach their children Like these:

How to handle things with peace

If your child ever fights with his siblings, or in school or even argues with you, you need to make him understand how wrong this behavior can be. Even you need to be totally non-violent in front of him to make him understand this. Tell him how he can handle all these things by just talking peacefully and sometimes by ignoring the situations.

Helping the ones in need

Take him to orphanages or old age homes to do charity and service. Sometimes, just ask him to help the people he finds on road who are in need of help. Give a hand to someone who fells down, pick the burden of old ones and share food with the ones in need.

Believe in equality

Make your child believe that there is no one below or weaker than him and everyone is equal. Whether it is a woman, a man, a child, a poor guy or a rich person, everyone is equal and he must give equal respect to all of them.

Respect women

Your child must not be like one of those who think women can be oppressed or wooed just because he is a man. He needs to know that women are just like men and he needs to respect a woman regardless of the family she belongs to, the habits she has, the clothes she wears or the way she talks.

Contribute to society

Yes, he will follow his heart and achieve all that he wants to but at the same time, he has a role to play in the society. He needs to make this world a better place by doing tiny good deeds here and there.

These are the things that parent needs to teach their children – If these 5 attributes are embedded in every child of this world, I bet that in a few years, this world will be full of peace. After all, we can hope for the best in every situation, right?

Recently, after a six-month investigation, Texas authorities in the state of America, have arrested a man named Sumlin, they say, was running a prostitution ring that targeted up to 30 college-aged American women who were forced into flesh trade.

The man was clever enough to lure the women by placing modelling advertisements and then show them the way to easy money, while working his web around colleges and through the internet. The young and aspiring girls, who definitely loved the money part, were easily drawn towards the profession and they had no qualms in landing in an escort business for.

The body measurements worth the business, the acts that they can perform in front of the customers, the attire they need to wear, he taught them everything. He was a hardcore professional and knew how to coerce the innocent girls, looking to pay for their expenses, into a hefty profit making trade.

He was arrested when a police official posing to be a customer visited his business and busted the scam. The investigation is said to be a coordinated effort between the San Antonio police, Dallas police, and the Texas Attorney General’s Office.

While this remains a story from another nation, we have many versions of our own country, involving college students and girls from good families too!

Many young girls coming from small towns and districts around metro cities indulge in the oldest profession in the world when they come to the big cities to study or work. Selling sex for money, becomes their easiest mode to survival and some extra stash for a lavish living.

What are the reasons:

Coming from poor families, they dream of better lives, but do not have them. Given the irresistible lures of big cities, the flashy lives, they get mired in this muddy terrain because of poverty. Most of these girls are in the age-group of 18-25 and It is the tempt of the glitter that plays a major role in attracting these small-town girls.

Since these students are young, they get good money from their clients, which is collected either directly or through their brokers. Each girl earns almost 6000 to 10,000 per night. And on an hourly basis, their charging rates are 1500 to 2000, depending upon the client. On an average, each girl indulges in paid sex at least twice a week. So, in a month, they rake in plenty of moolah!

Each girl has more than six-seven SIMs and they keep changing their numbers. That’s the smart way of operating and to keep the covers on!

And quite astonishingly, not all of them are from stark poor homes. There are many who are from decent middle-class homes, and indulge in the skin trade to earn extra stash. A part of this money is spent on their books and other education expenses, but in most of the cases, it is blown on expensive mobiles, la-di-dah makeup, accessories and smart new wardrobes. Almost all these girls are addicted to liquor and live under the illusion of being loaded, faking a lavish lifestyle, just like other rich metro dwellers.

The painful fact remains that a substantial number of college students sink into this dirt, simply to fund their higher education they aspire for. And also, to feed the family in their hometown, and some to fund the education of younger siblings. They do this under the covers of part-time jobs, as told to their families.

We are living in a rotten world, where some attain education only after paying a heavy price!

We hope, these college girls see a way out and decide to live a respectable life.

We wish a happy student life to them.
