Coming closer to the truths of the god, it is said that there are 19 different avatars of Lord Shiva.

Each of the different avatars of Lord Shiva has a specific purpose and is known to serve a precise purpose.

So, here are some of the lesser known avatars of Lord Shiva.

1 – Bhairav Avatar

When Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu had a fight over superiority, Lord Shiva had to take this avatar. Lord Shiva took the form of Bhairava and cut off Lord Brahma’s fifth head. Been guilty of cutting off the head of a Brahmin, Lord Shiva had to carry the skull of Lord Brahma for next twelve years.

People have witnessed screams of people and loud noises from this shrine. People often come to seek tantric help for the possessed person. The victim can book a room at Rs. 800 in this temple and then the treatment begins. You can see the victims rolling on the floor to get cured and the violent victim is been chained to the wall.

I looked up at the sky and stepped out of the gate for that most awaited morning jog.

Yeah, I waited for almost 8 hours before I could get up and get going. Just saying!

As I took a few steps towards the road, I bumped into Mrs. Kashyap. She had this huge thaali in her hands and was all decked up.

“Good morning ji, where are you heading early in the morning?” I asked in a rather sugary tone.

“Ohhh good morning, I am going to the temple, to offer these moti choor ke ladoo, I got them specially made from Haldiram, poore 1000 rupaye ka thaal bana hai! My husband got promoted to MD post in his big company, so we must thank the God, you see! thank the God “ Her voice was quite celebratory.

As she finished talking, this clumsy looking, painfully thin, rag-picker boy (5-6 years probably), in murky looking clothes, those were covering his body, came close to us, pulled on her sari ka palloo and said in a dim voice, “Ek laddoo do na, maine kal se kuch nahi khaaya”.

“Hat!!! Door hat, mere kapde mat kharaab kar! Bhaag yahaan se, ye ladoo bhagwan ke liye hain, tum jaise bhikhariyon ke liye nahi!” And proudly, she headed in her direction!

I could not help but smile, took out my mobile from my tracks pocket and called home “Meera, zara 4-5 bread piece aur ek glass doodh neeche le aao, yahaan ek bachche ko de do”. I asked the boy to wait till my domestic help comes with the food that I called for.

I again started to walk, as my eyes met 75 years old Mathur uncle carrying a big milk can, which must have weighed around 5-7 kgs. He is an old, feeble man with a pale bent spine. He could hardly walk, and the weight of the milk can was further pulling him down. “Mathur uncle, what happened, can I help? Let me hold this can for you”, I gestured to take the can from him.

“No, no!! I have to carry this to pandit ji’s home every day for 21 days. My Guru ji told me that I must offer 5 litre milk to pandit ji, and carry it myself or by a family member, and I will definitely be relieved of my Asthma, after I complete this ritual. Our God lies in our Guruji, I have to do what he says, and I will definitely be well. My Asthma is actually killing me now!”

“But you are so unwell uncle, you should take rest at home, let your son do it for you.” I said in a helpless tone.

“Oh, what are you talking, my son has no time for me, he has gone to visit Amarnath with his family. He wants to please Bhole Baba!” And he moved forward.

I sighed, and as I was about to step forward, I heard someone call my name from a distance. I turned around and saw Usmaan bhai rushing towards me. He almost sprinted towards me, and while trying to catch his breath, he muttered in a single breath “See, my bai has fallen from the stairs and is hurt. Her foot is bleeding. She is sitting in the staircase only. Please take her to the doctor for the first aid, here is some money. I could have done it myself, but it is my namaaz time and I cannot miss it, my Allah will not be happy. I have to rush to the masjid. I am already late. Please do it for me.”

He shoved a few hundred’s bills in my hands and went off in a hurry!

I gave up the idea of morning jog and started to move towards Usmaan bhai’s flat, to take the bai to the clinic.

By now, I was quite confused and asking myself, “We all are so devoted to make our Gods happy? Where exactly is he?”

Do tell me if you have the answer. I shall be waiting.

Writer’s Note: With this story, I absolutely do not have any intention to hurt anybody’s religious sentiments. The only objective is to draw attention towards something, which is getting lost somewhere in the process of pleasing our Gods, which is called Humanity.

When you are standing behind an old Indian temple, you will be shouted out the anecdotes of history by the lifeless walls themselves for they are full of life but we need to have the right pair of eyes to see it. However, Indians are somewhat religious fanatics and the heightened fanaticism dampens the majesties of architectural delights.

Also, where there is belief, there is fear and in archaic times, deities were worshipped and offered gifts through myriad rituals in order to safeguard the lives and properties from the natural vagaries. As per Hindu mythology, there are 33 million gods and goddesses after whom temples have been raised too. The shocker of facts is, non-living creatures and even animals too are worshipped in the same stature as gods in India.

However, we will name a few Bizarre Indian Temples and their bizarre rituals in India that will surely make you roll your eyes in surprise:

Bizarre Indian Temples –

1 – Sonia Gandhi temple, Telengana:

In view of her popularity, Sonia Gandhi temple was raised by some followers of hers in the separated state of Telengana. In this temple, there is a stone idol of Sonia Gandhi posing as a goddess with lotus in one hand and a plate full of rice in another.

2 – Bullet Baba Temple, Rajasthan:

People worship the motorbike of Om Singh Rathore who died in a car crash for unknown reason. This might look strange to you but the villagers might have their own reason whatsoever.

According to the belief, every work should begin after offering prayers to Ganesha. Thus, people follow this old-age custom and seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha.

But, have you ever wondered why we pray to Lord Ganesha first? Well. There are various stories that prove him the most intelligent of all. In fact, the Lord Ganesha is also best known for holding expertise in 64 arts. These include knowledge, creativity, drama and much more.

But, these are facts usually most of the people know about him. Thus, know some more surprising reasons why we pray Lord Ganesha first.

Reasons we pray Lord Ganesha first –

Birth of Lord Ganesha

Lord Shiva got married to Goddess Parvati and they had a baby boy. This child was named Kartik. Lord Shiva sent Kartik to resolve the problems people face in different parts of the world. At this time, Kartik was a young boy and he was also close to his mother Goddess Parvati.

Thus, he [Kartik] took a promise from his father that he will make sure that Goddess Parvati will never miss her son. Lord Shiva gave the promise and Kartik went to accomplish the task assigned.

After few days, Goddess Parvati decided to give birth to another son. Thus she started doing meditation for some days. She then formed a baby boy like structure from her sweat that popped up during the meditation time. After which she propelled life into that structure and named him Ganesh alias Ganpati.

Appearance of Ganesha

One fine day Goddess Parvati went to bath and ordered the Ganesha to stop anyone from entering inside. Lord Shiva came there after few minutes and tried to get in. But, Lord Ganesha stopped him from entering the arena.

This made Lord Shiva angry and thus he chopped off Ganesha’s head. The goddess Parvati came running as she heard her son screaming. The mother got angry with the incident and asked Lord Shiva to make her son alive again. Else, she will destroy the entire universe. Thus, Lord Shiva asked other gods to bring the head of the first animal they saw.

Sometime later, the gods came to Lord Shiva and offered the elephant’s head they bought. Goddess Parvati’s son Ganesha was brought back to life by fixing that elephant’s head to his body. Thus, he got another name that is Gajanan. This is the Sanskrit meaning of elephant.

How Ganesh become the First God of Hindu People

Once, both Ganesha and Kartik his elder brother tried to portray themselves as elder than each other. This is when Lord Shiva intervened and gave them a task to accomplish. He also made it clear that the winner of this task will be the known as the first among the gods. Thus, people will pray to him before offering prayers to other gods.

According to this task, the one who will finish the complete round of this universe and will come back to Lord Shiva first will be the winner. Kartik, the elder son sat on his peacock and fled to take a round of this universe. But, Ganesha who had a mouse as the mode of transport thought how to complete this task before Kartik. Because taking a quick tour of the universe by sitting on the mouse is not possible. Then he decided to do a parikrama [round] of his parents. After which he said that my parents are my universe. Thus I took around them only.

Both, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were pleased to hear this from Ganesha. Thus, Lord Shiva declared Ganesha the winner of this task and made an announcement that he will be the first God to whom people will pray. He also added that every auspicious activity will begin only after praying to Lord Ganesh.

Yogic Belief

Another reason why we pray to Lord Ganesh first is that he rules the Muldhara Chakra. According to this belief, the human life is segregated into two parts. One is material and other is spiritual. Coincidently, Lord Ganesha controls both of them. The material way fulfills the expectations and the desires of a human being. On the other hand, the Spiritual way is the life cycle of a person from birth till death.

Thus, this is a reason why we pray Lord Ganesh first. It is a belief that we must seek the blessings of Ganpati to live a smooth and hassle-free life.

These are main reasons for why we pray Lord Ganesha first. We the humans stay protected from obstacles and sudden death by offering regular prayers to Ganpati-Gajanan. Thus, those believing in this divine power pray for the success and prosperity of any new work they wish to commence.

As a result, there is a fast-spreading belief that Lord Hanuman is still alive and well on earth.

Lord Hanuman is still alive –

While events in the Ramayana took place during the Treta Yuga, events in the Mahabharata occurred during the Dwapar Yuga. The latter has anecdotes describing encounters between Bhima (the second of the Pandavas) and Lord Hanuman. Similarly, Sri Rama’s devotees, such as Swami Ramdas, Swami Tulsidas, Sri Satya Sai Baba, Ramadas Swami and Raghavendra Swami, appeared to have had visits from Lord Hanuman, right from the 13th century to the 17th If this is so, then the Monkey God must have been present throughout all these ages.

Lord Hanuman’s original place of residence is the Gandamadana Mountain, Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu. People believe that the Monkey God appears at the temple dedicated to Him, in order to fulfil the deepest wishes of His faithful devotees.

Some people claim to have seen His footprints at various places in India. They not only worship these footprints, but also set up temples around them.

Lord Rama himself commanded his ardent devotee to remain on earth, even while he gave up his own mortal form. Obeying his command, Lord Hanuman began to reside in the jungles.

While he was resident in Sri Lanka’s jungles on Piduruthalagala (tallest mountain), some tribals came forward to serve Lord Hanuman. Pleased with their devotion, he gave them a special mantra, which would make him visible to them. He further assured them that he would return every 41 years, in order to deliver Atman Gnan to future generations. The tribals still live in the same place, performing Charan Puja to invite the Monkey God during the specified time. The headman even maintains a logbook to record every word uttered by Lord Hanuman during his visits.

The mantra is available to all, but comes with two conditions attached. While chanting Kaaltantu Kaarecharanti Enar Marishnu, Nirmukter Kaaletwam Amarishnu ((कालतंतु कारेचरन्ति एनर मरिष्णु, निर्मुक्तेर कालेत्वम अमरिष्णु) repeatedly, the chanter should feel a soul connection with Lord Hanuman. This is possible through contemplation and meditation. They should follow the chanting. Secondly, no other human being, who does not feel this connection, may stay within the vicinity, when the chanter is going through this exercise. The distance between the chanter and the onlooker, should be 980 meters.

These things prove that Lord Hanuman is still alive – You may choose to believe or not believe! However, lakhs of devotees of Lord Hanuman are confident that if their ‘thirst’ to have a glimpse of him is genuine, they will be able to see Him.

Goddess Kali wears a mystery about her which is hard to fathom unless one delves deeper beneath the veil of sensational images she is made incidental to. But then again, in her fearsome version, she can stifle laughter of all things evil in her inscrutably domineering wrath.

Her introduction in this world:

It was Ramkrishna Paramhamsa who came into Goddess Kali consciousness first and introduced her to theis world. The humankind staunchly knows her as the supreme mother of the Universe now.

Why is worshipping Goddess Maa Kali is important:

Goddess Kali – Maa Kali is symbolic to the power of time and she indicates that nothing is permanent in this world. This is whys she wears the garland of skulls, it is but a symbol of transition from death to immortality. She dances intensely on the bottomless abyss; she has a dark blue colour, on in her entirety she is the manifestation of cosmic wisdom. She is the holder of Vidyut Shakti, which is the lightning or electrical force from which the entire world borrows energy. Her seed mantra is ‘Kreem’ which denotes Kriya Shakti or power of transformation which is at play behind the transformation of life.

So, apparently when we worship Goddess Kali , her benevolence and blessings are endowed upon us. Her blessings are empowering and we are insured for good health, fortune and wisdom in the long haul. Deepavali is a festival of lights to slay the demons of darkness. India celebrates this festival with pomp and grandeur because Goddess Kali is known to eradicate all darkness with her celestial acumen. Hence, offering our prayers to Goddess Kali during Deepavali is an imperative.

From Sonia Gandhi temple to Bullet Baba temple, there are many temples in India known for its special or bizarre reason. Today, we would introduce you to the most famous temple of India where people come to pray for their visa clearance. Going and settling in abroad is a dream for many but not everyone can live their foreign dream.

Apart from various other components one key factor which is important for going abroad is visa clearance.

Visa temple –

If you‘re an Indian and eagerly waiting for your visa clearance, we would mention a temple where lakhs of people go to pray for their visa clearance. Yes, we are talking the infamous ‘Visa Balaji’ temple in Chilkur.

Visa Balaji temple is situated in Chilkur, Hyderabad and is considered to be one of the oldest temples in Telangana. This temple is known as the visa temple as worshiping to Sri Venkateswara Balaji deity will help you in getting visa approval. With more than 75,000 to lakh people visiting the temple, Fridays and Sunday’s have always been a rush affair. Devotees stand in line for a long period of time in order to seek to bless from the deity. However, if you are praying for a visa approval here, you’ll probably need to come back once your visa is approved.

It is said that once their visa gets approved, they need to come back to the temple and take 108 rounds of parikrama. According to the last year data, it was said that highest number of students settled in the US belong from the state of Hyderabad. Now we can imagine how many devotes and students might reach the Visa temple to get their American dreams come true.

While visa is the main thing which draws people towards the this visa temple, there are many other things for which people come to visit the temple. Many people come to get rid of their marriage problems while some come to pray for their debt clearance. The temple generally swells with young women and men praying and praising the lord for visa clearance.

And especially in this time of year when the nation is soaked in resplendent festive hues, one yearns for going back to his ethnic root. There are people who are stuck in another city for work and they make do with whatever celebrations are up for grabs.

Then, unknowingly the only beacon of hope, the city becomes his home.

Guwahati is such a city which perpetuates the Durgapuja celebrations in Kolkata with pomp and grandeur and we will discuss here about the Bamboo Tallest Durga idol that was built by a Muslim man which took the internet by storm.

Guwahati is its own competition when it comes to tendering surprises. It outdoes itself in every year and the efforts are painstakingly perfect. This year, Guwahati has raised a 100 feet sculpture Goddess Durga with Mahisashur begging mercy on her feet. Bamboo is considerably the most eco-friendly material to build an idol and Guwahati is the second to make the cut after Kolkata.

The Deccan Chronicle was first to break the news who reported that the Tallest Durga idol is made by Bishnupur Durgapuja committee near Sarabhatti, under the surveillance of art director Nuruddin Ahmad flanked by 40 artisans.

To hear directly from the horse’s mouth, we have laid down a very inspirational statement given by Nuruddin Ahmed:

“Many people ask me why I make such idols as I am a Muslim, but I want to tell that I have been doing this work since 1975. I always think that an artist has no religion and his duty is to serve humanity”.

There were as many as 5000 Bamboo poles of varied kinds have been used to raise the sculpture. It was almost shattered after a storm got Guwahati crippled a few days back and was re-modified.

Modern-day couples have been inspired by the eternal love story of Radha and Krishna. Even after so many eras, heavenly couple Radha-Krishna is worshipped together not only by youths but by everyone.

With Krishna, Radha is considered to be the supreme goddess as she is said to command Lord Krishna.

Listening to krishna and radha enchanting love story, many of the devotees end up thinking why Lord Krishna never married Radha.

According to various researches and studies conducted, it is said that Lord Krishna never married Radha as he believed; love and marriage are two different things. According to the Vedas, Krishna believed that marriage is an agreement or arrangement while love is a selfless emotion where you pledge to love someone with purified nature. Radha and Krishna love story is an exemplary for teens where he says marriage is materialistic.

Furthermore, Radha was in love with Krishna so much that she believed Krishna was God and she used to love him as a devotee. She was lost in ‘bhakti love’ which people started mistaking as a physical love. Radha and Krishna love is taken as a relationship between a devotee and God.

Radha and Krishna are not separate

According to the facts believed, Radha is not separate from Krishna. Lord Krishna has various types of energies and you need two individuals to get married. Also, Radha is Lord Krishna’s energy which pleases him. Therefore it is believed that Radha and Krishna are two different manifestations of the divine principle.

In order to show that Radha and Krishna relationship was not physical but it was actually the eminent level of love between the two, Lord Krishna did not marry Radha. It is said that it was the highest devotion of love expressed by a human (Radha) to Lord Krishna (The God). According to the Vedic scriptures, the love shared between Radha and Krishna cannot be compared to any other mythological or love stories from history.

One more story supports the idea which says Radha refused to marry Krishna because she felt she doesn’t fit in the place. According to Radha, people would never want Lord Krishna to marry a cowgirl. They would surely want Lord Krishna to marry a princess. However, Lord Krishna reassured Radha about the marriage and her status in the society, but she was firm in her decision. Also, there is one more theory which says that because Krishna and Radha are one soul, Krishna says that how can he marry his own soul.

He explained the world that Krishna and Radha are one and not different from each other in existence or spirit.

Navratri sets the mood of celebration not only in Gujarat but throughout the country. I can literally watch people enjoying Dandiya Raas at one side of the street while another bunch of people worshipping Goddess Durga and enjoying the festival of Durga Puja (typically the Bengali’s).

Well, it is not only the Gujarati’s and the Bengali’s who celebrate Navratri, but this nine days festival is celebrated in different states in different ways.

Check out 9 different ways how India celebrates the festival of Navratri.

Maharashtra

The celebration of Navratri in Maharashtra (read as Aamchi Mumbai) is as similar as the people of Gujarat celebrate. You can observe every locality organizing Garba and dandiya nights with lots of lights and themes to be seen. Apart from this, Navratri is also seen as a day of new beginning in Maharashtra. Purchasing new house, car and many other things are quite common during this period.

Kerala

Kerala celebrates the festival of Navratri during its last three days. According to Keralites, the last three days of Navratri plays an important role in their life as they worship Ma Saraswati from the day of Ashtami to Dashami. They place musical instruments and books in front of Goddess Saraswati and seek blessings.

West Bengal and Bihar

However, worshipping both of them together will suffice to bless you for eternity. Do grant them extra importance during the nine days of the Chaitra Navratri festival.

Goddess Durga takes on nine forms in those nine days, each being significant in its own way.

9 Avatars Of Goddess –

1 – Maa Shailputri, the daughter (putri) of the King of Mountains (Shail), descends to earth, riding a bull (Nandi). There is a lotus flower in her left hand and a trishul in her right hand. Request her help to rejuvenate your root chakra at the base of your spine. This will help you complete worthwhile tasks in this birth.

2 – She turns into the radiantly majestic Maa Brahmacharini on the following day. Born to King Himalaya, this performer (charini) of deep penance (Brahm) displays a rosary in her right hand and a kamandal in her left one. You will discard egoism, greed and laziness, in order to acquire knowledge, wisdom and self-confidence.

3 – Appearing as Maa Chandraghanta on the third day, the three-eyed Goddess is depicted as a figure with ten hands holding ten kinds of weapons, swords and arrows. Her peaceful and serene eyes are waiting to bestow success and fame upon you.

4 – Her fourth avatar is Maa Kushmanda (cosmic egg), who used her eight hands to create this world from nothing. She not only controls the land of the Sun God, but also your personal quota of health and wealth.

5 – The fifth manifestation of the Goddess is Maa Skandamata (mother of Lord Kartikeya/Skanda). You will see her holding the infant, along with a lotus flower, in her four hands. She also possesses a bright complexion and three eyes. Fulfil all your desires through her worship.

6 – Maa Katyayani (daughter of sage Katya) is the sixth avatar of the Goddess, possessing four hands and three eyes. She will ensure that there is no more delay in your getting married. She will also help you overcome diseases, fears and sorrows.

7 – On the seventh day, you will see Maa Kalratri. By bringing death to ignorance, she helps to light up the darkness within your soul. Mounted on a donkey, this three-eyed and fourhanded Goddess appears rather fearsome with flames emanating from her nostrils and her tongue hanging out of her mouth.

8 – The eighth day is dedicated to the worship of Maa Mahagauri, again with three eyes and four hands. Beautiful and serene in appearance while riding on her bull, she will help you comprehend the sorrows of the material world. Thus, you move towards a lustrous path of virtue and values.

9 – The final avatar is that of the fourhanded Maa Siddhidatri. She is named so, for she bestows 26 diverse kinds of wishes (siddhis) on her true devotees. Her mount is a lion. However, she prefers to sit on the lotus flower too.

These are 9 Avatars Of Goddess – Thus, with the worship of this Goddess, the nine days of the festival reach an end.

It not only brings the city of Kolkata to halt, but it is the most awaited carnival for all the Bengalis across the world. Bongs have been waiting to meet their universal Ma, whom they welcome with lots of Dhaaks, Dhunuchi naach, prayers and many more things.

Regardless of caste, age and class, the fever of Durga Puja grips every heart in the city.

Because Durga Puja is around the corner, here we would mention you some things that capture the perfect emotions of Bongs during the Durga Puja.

Enjoying the Dhak, Dhunuchi naach and mild fragrance of shiuli

Enduring the sound of Dhak along with Dhunuchi dance just before offering Bhog to Ma Durga gives a familiar tug to every Bengali heart. Dhunuchi naach is basically an inherited form of dance which is performed using burning clay lamps in front of Goddess Durga. Dhunuchi naach is an important ritual during Durga Puja and is not just a form of dance.

Forget our Maach Bhaat but love the traditional Bhoger Khichudi

When it comes to Bengali’s, there is a common myth that we cherish dining on rice and fish throughout the year. Although rice and fish hold a special place in our hearts, we love to gorge on Bhoger Khichudi during Durga Puja. Khichudi with some tomato chutney, labda, and Rosogolla forms to be the best feast of the year.

Pandals forms to be the most spectacular thing you have ever seen

Not only Bengali’s but even Non- Bengali’s wait for Durga Puja, in order to experience the joy of hopping from one pandal to another. Because Ma Durga is arriving, practically every locality has come up with pandals in their own style. With so many lights, decoration and giant idols, everything seems to be perfect.

Magnificent idols of Durga Puja is sumptuous

There is no denying fact that Durga Ma Bhakts literally shed their tears in front of the Goddess. From award winning Durga Ma idols to innovative designs of pandals and creative themes, watching the magnanimous idols of Durga Puja is a pleasant sight for your sore eyes. The city welcomes Durga Ma along with mighty demon Mahishasura with open arms and hearts filled with lots of love and sentiments.

As Durga Puja arrives, the city awakes with a new level of enthusiasm and delight! Sumptuous idols, the sound of dhaak, legendary Bhog aren’t enough describing Durga Puja. Durga Puja is also much like a 4-day open food festival with a large variety of food served every day. From chops, cutlets, Calcutta Kathi rolls to biryani and chicken curries, everything is just classic when Ma arrives in the city. Yes, even the taste buds are happy!

Waiting impatiently

The zest for this festival is so deep that Ma Durga Bhakts don’t mind standing throughout the day in a long queue. No matter how big the pandal is, how much the traffic is or how crowded the street is, we love to wait patiently to get a glimpse of Goddess Durga.

Get to soak in some culture

A series of puja is performed every day at the Puja Mandal. As usual, a Bengali starts his day giving Pushpanjali during Durga Puja which is all about chanting in front of Ma and offering flowers. The evening ritual consists of Dhunuchi dance which is performed in order to impress the universal God. Finally, Dashami is the last day of Durga Puja where women’s bid goodbye to Ma Durga with the Sindoor Khela ritual and Dhak’s final beat.

Durga Puja comes with a sudden rush of liveliness in every Bengali’s heart! Ma arrives and goes in a span of 4 days and it is all too much for you! Bolo Durga Maa ki, Jai!

Temples are significant in India which is generally constructed by great kings, warriors or great people living here. With numerous God and Goddess worshipped, people’s spirituality and faith for God may vary.

Keeping all the ego behind, Hindus have been worshipping temple since its community evolution. Temple is more than a building or an infrastructure to the Hindu community.

One among a unique temple in India is that where a MUSLIM woman is worshipped in temple. Strange, isn’t it?

A small village called as Jhoolasan in Gujarat is known for its strange feature.

A Muslim woman named Dola is worshiped in this temple and is considered as a god by the locals. The story dates back to 250 years ago when the Jhoolasan village was attacked by some goons. People say that the Muslim woman fought bravely against the goons. However, the lady could not sustain longer against them and was killed.

Soon after she was killed, witnesses say that her body turned into a flower. In order to pay a tribute to her bravery and love for the village, locals have built a temple where Dola took last breath. Since then, Dola is worshipped by everyone and also many people come to this village to worship the Muslim woman.

No, there is no idol of Dola inside the temple; instead, you can just see a stone wrapped in a saree. Apart from this, this small village from Gujarat is also known to be the native village of the first female astronaut– Sunita Williams. Sunita Williams father used to stay in this small village of Gujarat. The village rose to fame when Sunita along with her father came to offer prayer to Dola Mata Devi temple in the village. Most of the people come to seek blessings from Dola Mata as they believe their wishes will be fulfilled.

Interestingly, this temple of Dola Mata Devi temple is 250 years old and is taken care by BJP leader, who comes to worship the woman. On an interesting note, there is no Muslim family in the Jhoolasan village. Jhoolasan village is 40 km away from Gujarat’s capital Ahmedabad. Cabs and bus are available to take you to the famous Dola Mata Mandir.

Who invented it, you ask? Well, it was established by Swami Madhu Sudan Ji as he was inspired by his Sadguru, the great Saint Kula Nand Bramchari Ji.

What exactly is “Adhyatm Yoga Mission?” Firstly, let me add that the world has no independent exists. It exists because Brahman or Absolute exits forever. This mission says that it’s important to know ourselves BEFORE we connect to God. It says that without the knowledge of one’s self, it is clearly impossible to connect with God. The unimaginable God certainly cannot be known to us IF we don’t know the knowledge that we, humans holds within. Most importantly, this mission speaks that it’s important not to live with an ego. With an ego, nobody can have a relationship with God. But thus, one that has the right knowledge of Formless God i.e. the unimaginable God can easily devote himself. By having a knowledge, it becomes easy to connect and the peaceful happenings that one experiences later results into connecting with God. It’s all about surrendering completely to God and only then one can experience that He exists.

This mission strongly believes in establishing universal brotherhood in society so that one realizes the powers and creations of God by leading a virtuous LIFE.

FOUR WAYS: Adhyatm Yoga Mission includes 4 ways of God’s realization i.e. Knowledge Of God.

Karma-Yoga

This yoga is mainly for assiduous people. Assiduous are people who are careful, methodical and persistent in nature. Karma Yoga leads to doing selfless service without expecting anything return.

Bhakti-Yoga

This yoga is for people who are devotional in nature i.e. they worship God. It is done as a path of self-realization.

Bhakti yoga leads to devotion.

Raj-Yoga

It is for esoteric people i.e. people who are most likely to be understood by a small group of people having similar interests.

It leads to self-discipline.

Jnan-Yoga

It is for the ones equipped with the faculty of discrimination. Other than that; it leads to prudence i.e. one who needs to be careful while taking decisions to do things.

Whatever you do, whatever you eat or whatever you give, do it entirely as an offer to God. Live in peace, and let go your egoism. Most importantly, serve God and only then you’ll be able to FIND the peace that you’re desperate to have. Have Faith in yourself and make sure to meditate on a daily basis. Speak the truth and stop lying. Kill your FEARS and most importantly, your ANGER.

Practically, Yoga is a way of life and it comes in many forms. Adhyatm Yoga Mission is one of it and it appreciates the basic principles of all the virtual values. This mission is not created to drag any religious or hurt anyone’s sentiments, but it’s just a pure form of connecting with God by experiencing peace.

It strongly believes in leading people towards light, love, strength, peace, self-confidence. It makes sure to take a person, no matter what religion he/she shares, from out of the weakness, darkness and any negative thoughts.

This mission also entirely focuses on the 3 types of impurities i.e. Mal (impurities of body and organs), Vikshep (attachment relating in wandering of mind) and Avaran (ego in intellect)

To get closer and understand the knowledge Of God, one has to understand these principles to lead a peaceful Godly LIFE.

Unfailing adherence to “Yogah Karmsu Kaushalam.”

Freedom from the ego. (It is a must-thing. One should not have any ego in heart and should be capable of knowing one-self)

To shun the burden of ego on account of body, richness as these are just the gifts given by our God.

Discrimination shouldn’t be practiced.

Now, you must’ve got an idea about what exactly the mission is all about. To make it clearer, it is all about establishing unity and universal brotherhood. God is one and it can be realized with the grace of Sadguru in body and form.

This was all about ” Adhyatm Yoga Mission “.
