Recently there were reports on a man who took selfie with his deceased uncle and shared the picture on social media.

This one is probably the weirdest kind of update that I had come across. Unless your loved one is a big personality or a celebrity, you really don’t have to put the death update of that person on Facebook. Seriously I want to understand the psyche of people putting such updates on social media.

Moreover some people even put up funeral images…I mean, seriously???

To follow your faith is great but a regular update on the same is just a bit too much. Imagine the plight of the friends in your list who follow or don’t follow your faith. It gets very irritating to read extremely strong religious views regularly on the news feed.

Moreover religion is a subject that should be avoided as it gets controversial. Your faith might preach an ideology that would be a complete contrast to a different ideology. Don’t touch religion as it tends to get offensive.

Gross ailing updates:

Sometimes I see people updating about their diseases. The updates range from a picture from the hospital bed to gross close up pictures of the severe wounds, etc.

Selfies (Extreme close up pics):

Unless you are very photogenic please avoid putting up extreme close up pictures of your face. Some people are so self-obsessed that there would be close up of their eyes, lips, etc. Take honest opinion from your friends about a selfie you want to upload and then only upload it.

A vivaah isn’t sampann unless pictures are uploaded on Facebook.

Although it has become a ritual these days but seriously it is quite irritating for others. Every morning we log in and the first thing to pop up on our news feed is a marriage update with pictures of rituals flashing all over.

Yes, the self-love is all out now waiting for appreciation, admiration and seduction. Of course it all started with girls taking sexy pictures, initially, fully clothed, in their bathrooms with a pout! The trend slowly shifted towards wearing shorter sexy clothes and poses, which showed the curvy figure as well, thereby enticing so many men to fall in love with the girl just by looking at her picture!

The Entry of The Bathroom

The trend continues, but then men also got an idea that they are also handsome and smart and need some love and cheering up. Hence, the run to the bathroom was expedited with the sole objective of showing the world what one got beneath those clothes! Where else can one expect to flaunt their beauty except in the privacy of a bathroom, standing right in front of the mirror and spending hours in clicking selfies!

No, not everyone has six-pack abs, but those who do, what’s the harm in showing off? Now we have so many guys displaying their well tone bodies making girls go “whoa” sitting in front of their laptops and ogling at beefed up male physique! And those who don’t have that well toned body, they found an innovative way too; just have a head shot or a picture till the chest level to hide that little paunch down there while still seducing the opposite sex!

Good or Bad?

Frankly speaking, this is all good and actually a welcome change! Self-love is important and then only you can love others. Also, if the desire to click a sexy selfie showing off a great body makes one join the gym or is a motivating factor to maintain good health, nothing better than that!

So who looks good in those selfies? Women with their usual pouty pictures with full on make up or guys with their toned-not toned bodies, yet trying their best to charm?

Hepeating is a new word which is going viral with over 67, 000 re-tweets and more than 2 Lakh likes on Twitter. Now I’m sure that you must’ve heard the word “repeating” in your LIFE, right? Plus, we all know what the word means. I know, Hepeating sounds somewhat like Repeating but the meaning is obviously DIFFERENT and trust me; it was a word that was really needed.

Once you know the meaning, you’ll be like “Damn! This word should be added in the dictionary because it is an important one.”

What is the meaning behind this new word HEPEATING? Let me tell you, Hepeating is when a woman says something and then a man, knowing that it was good and no-nonsense thing to say, repeats it, by using new words and then take credits for it. To make it more simple, it is defined as “when a woman suggests an idea and it’s ignored and then the guy says the same thing by using different words, and everyone around starts appreciating it.”

See, I told ya – you might’ve experienced something like this. You know what; to be frank, I’ve experienced it and I’m so thankful that it has a word now. Like seriously, this one needs to be included in the dictionary.

Twitteratis Unhappy With Character Limit – Just like Instagram and Snapchat, Twitter is also an important app. Twitter is very FAMOUS for it’s 140 character limit. But today, they announced that they’ll test a 280 character limits for tweets.

Twitter said on a blog post, “We want every person around the word to easily express themselves on Twitter, so we’re doing something new: we’re going to try out a longer limit, 280 characters, in languages impacted by cramming (which is all except Japanese, Chinese, and Korean)”

Well, they thought that people around the world will LOVE this idea but the opposite happened. Twitter users are NOT at all happy about the news. Plus, they think that there was no need to try something new. Many users are upset over this idea and they want Twitter to FIX this problem as soon as possible.

In one more tweet he wrote Vijender Singh’s name differently but again he made sure he spelt it correctly next time.

4. Jacky Bhagnani:

Jacky Bhangnani known for his movie Faltu tweeted congratulatory message for Nobel Prize awardee Malala Yousafzai but he made grave mistake by writing “Masala” instead of Malala. The tweet soon was a great masala for gossip mongers. Soon he was bullied and later he changed the tweet for right one. May be he believes in his auto correct more than anybody!

LOVE – a four letter word that actually makes the world function!

It is also the same word that keeps everyone on their toes, gives them goose bumps, butterflies in the stomach, makes them jump with joy, make everyone go crazy and makes life tad more interesting than it is!

With the passage of time, especially in India with liberals allowing and accepting that love is a way of life, everyone has joined the bandwagon of getting into a relationship.

By the time one turns into an adult, they have had at least one relationship to boast of.

And mind you, they are past their serious love affair and have come out mature to face the world, so they say!

Is it a reality though?

Actually, far from it! If you look closely, love is more of a fad these days, just to show off the way one shows off their latest gadget or party scene or dresses etc. The urge to be counted amongst those who have a boyfriend/girlfriend and to be able to boast that one is in love is much stronger than actually feeling the urge to love and be loved!

Now this is not a lecture about morals and ethics and what one should or shouldn’t do, but just trying to decipher what actually goes in today’s generation’s mind when they talk about love. Seriously speaking, most have watched rom-com cinema of Hollywood and it’s desi adaptation, read all of Chetan Bhagat’s candy floss surface level love stories and followed the lovey-dovey posts of couples on social media like Facebook, Twitter etc. and now want to emulate all of that in their life as well. Nothing bad in that if one can derive some pleasure by such activities, but it actually doesn’t help in the long term!

The reason why one gets in and out of love within a matter of days and love-marriages are heading for divorce so very often is that one associates the feeling of being in love with actually being in love! It is not easy to differentiate for most people and therefore they become super happy with the fact that they are in love rather than actually digesting the feeling of love, which comes with its own share of pain, longing, adjustments, compromises, sacrifices and what not! All one wants in love-life is to be happy, to be able to party, to spend time together doing fun things and be able to boast about it in their social circle. Love is much more than this and beyond all this!

Another way of looking at it is if someone doesn’t even realize the difference and yet is immensely happy, then no point in bursting the bubble! At least something is making the person happy, even if on a surface level, temporarily given the fact that otherwise life is full of stress and complications. As they say, ignorance is sometimes really bliss!

Well, whether you are in love or with the feeling of being in love, as long as you are happy and not hurting anyone, carry on! However, once in your lifetime, try to find the difference and actually try to live the experience of being really in deep true love. Your life will change and it will become more meaningless!

But then, some sites develop a hideous pattern of posting the same content over and over again in a new avatar. To be apt, Facebook now, or fb as we call it lovingly is like our ‘chuddy buddy’. We post cute pictures, selfies, poems, love statuses, heartbreak rants, hate messages, inspirational quotes, videos, recipes, details about every check-in to a place… even while boarding a flight at the ‘domestic’ airport!

What does a guy in America have to do with you flying from Delhi to Mumbai?! Just think about it… posting everything about your life on a website that is headquartered in a foreign country…. Feeling scared about privacy?

Don’t know why and what this is for!

Wait! Don’t laugh! You dare not smirk! Google+ is a social media website after all! People don’t visit it as much as the aforementioned culprits, but then, it entered the arena quite late…

Just like after Whatsapp everything else seems too cumbersome to install on your smartphone… Even then, Google+ holds on like the army of Sparta… We just hope it doesn’t die the death Orkut or Google Wave died…

Instagram 

Well, objective was to create a photo sharing platform! Some intresting and genuinely adorable photos to be precised!

Now, Instagram is like the daily log-book for people who love (irritating level of love) taking pictures… Posting every damn picture of your food, the menu, your shoes, your selfies, dogs, cats, insects, sofa, bed and what not! … Why not post a picture of yourself taking a poop! Ohh so you know where to draw the line.. do you? 😛

Well, other celebs mainly the ‘phorenmaal’ posts nude selfies and what not on Instagram just to rake in publicity…after all nowadays ‘skin’ sells. Just Google the ‘Free the Nipple campaign’ and get to know what kind of ruckus Instagram causes for deleting naked pictures of people.

LinkedIn was for the business class, but it has been reduced to a mere ‘telephone directory’ like junction where people just visit to verify someone’s professional credentials and hiring people when consultancies give you zilch! :/

The new interface of the website was meant to do more, but somehow the website simply doesn’t cater to people’s love for posting mindless crap. After all, you cannot post your ‘cheesecake wala picture’on the website, your boss will give you a mouthful for being unprofessional! 😛

Oh yes, the viral pictures of Om Sai Baba and Emotional Photo Message Shares can be seen on LinkedIn too, these days of course! Save the business world!

Well, to be frank, these websites were made for many different purposes, it is we the humans who have taken control on how they should work. The Facebook ‘Like’ button matters to most people more than food!

This is a good thing and bad thing alike. The good thing is that the world is getting connected more socially each day, the bad thing? We share so much crap that privacy is non-existent and productivity in real life takes a toll.

After all, who remembers who you were dining with last year this day or which flight you took to God knows where and what squabble or break-up you had! 😛

JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav has made a crass, inhumane and sexist comment on the complexion issues of India, especially targeting the south Indian women. This reckless move by him came while a debate on the government’s Insurance Bill had been on-going in Rajya Sabha.

Don’t get the connection between the Insurance Bill and the comment, right? Neither do I.

This is what the JD (U) President rambled on the obsession of the average Indian population on fair skin:

“Your God is dark like Ravi Shankar Prasad, (who at that time, was present in the house) but your matrimonial ads insist on white-skinned brides,”Yadav said. “The women of the south are dark but they are as beautiful as their bodies…We don’t see it here. They aren’t made like this here. They know dance.”

While the male members of the parliament were having fun moments when Yadav made such an insensitive statement, the women members were left speechless and did not know what or how to say after this inhumane act.

The President also did not think it would be fair to leave the recent case of Leslee Udwin’s documentary, India’s Daughter that was based on the interview of the rapists and the lawyers defending the rapists of the gang-rape incident of December 16 in New Delhi. He claimed that “she must have got permissions easily because of her white skin.”

While DMK President was against such unwelcome remarks by Yadav and asked him to focus on the subject of discussion, the latter justified himself saying that there was no harm in having a non-serious discussion.

Many Twitteratis have resorted to the social micro-blogging site; while many criticised his sexist statements,  referring it as ‘disgusting’ and the man as a ‘nincompoop’, some have even taken sarcastic hits at Yadav.

But, there are even some who defended him, and yes, that too from a political party.

JD (U) leader, KC Tyagi commented on Yadav’s selection of words, saying that though the words he used were wrong, his intention was clear.

What could have possibly been his intention when he said that “here people are awed by fair skin. In our matrimonials too, we look for gori, gori (fair skin)”?

If this is the way Yadav proposed to describe the increase of Foreign Direct Investment from 26 per cent to 49 per cent, then it is time we tell our ministers how to use analogies, examples and illustrations.

Oh yes she was very much in the news back in 2011 when India won the World Cup. She had received media attention as she promised to strip naked if India won. However as per reports BCCI played spoilsport and didn’t allow the stripping to happen even though India won the Cup.

She bore all though after Kolkata Knight Riders won.
