Fairytales – The best part about fairy tales was that they always had happy endings, unlike the real life.

3 – Aladdin:

Set in the Arabian backdrop, Aladdin is about the love between a commoner and a princess, Jasmine. Aladdin is blessed with a Genie who carries out his wishes at the drop of hat. We would sell our soul to see Hrithik Roshan play the masculine Aladdin, and Jacqueline Fernandez play Jasmine.

This is a narrative about a beauteous princess who, having been cursed by an evil fairy, falls asleep for 100 years until a young prince comes and breaks her deep slumber by a kiss. We figure, the best person who would fare the role of Sleeping Beauty is Sradhha Kapoor and Siddharth Malhotra will perfectly pull out the role of her prince charming.

5 – Rapunzel:

Rapunzel is a story about the beautiful girl who is imprisoned by the evil witch, Dame Gothel in her castle. The main draw about Rapunzel is her beautiful long golden clocks. One day A prince rides to the place and finds Rapunzel standing at the window, he instantly falls in love with her beauty so does Rapunzel. Even though the industry thrives on displaying, exploring and exploiting a plethora of human emotions in movie after movie, when it comes to real life, sometimes it feels like more of an emotional abuse rather than use just for some quick eyeballs and attention!

Ranbir Kapoor is considered to be one of the most intelligent, good looking and immensely talented actors of the current generation who will supposedly go a long way in his career. The way he conducts himself, promotes his movies, handles his image in public says a lot about this dashing actor’s sensibilities and intellect. However, it seems he has also fallen prey to the gruelling demands of a movie promotion and is going out of his way to promote it, even if he might not be all that convinced about it!

We’re talking about his next mega release, Bombay Velvet directed by Anurag Kashyap, which is going to hit the theatres this week. Lot of money is at stake; the movie has been in the making for many years now and is embroiled in one controversy after the other right from the beginning. May be that’s why Ranbir is bit nervous about it and has started talking about his personal life so often!

Now the fact that Katrina Kaif and Ranbir are a couple and living-in together is no news, but Ranbir always brushed aside the subject and never discussed it for media’s gossip mongers.

But now he is using this relationship card to stay in news!

The latest is that he is talking about his impending marriage with Kat which might happen in 2016 end or early 2017. Now the marriage is almost 2 years away, so why is Ranbir so keen on talking about it now? Obviously to stay in the news and get people talking about him, indirectly promoting his movie!

This is what perplexes us.

A star of Ranbir’s stature has to bend over backwards and compromise with his own conviction of not talking to media about his personal life. It must be difficult for him, but then is there something more than what meets the eye? Is there some problem with the movie that he has to resort to such cheap publicity to make people come to watch him? He can say a million things about the movie, do a lot of things to promote a movie without bringing in the Katrina angle, but he does the most obvious one which almost any other tom, dick and harry does to promote a film. Just before the release of a film, spread rumours of a link up or a relationship or marriage or divorce for some cheap publicity and you get attention!

Frankly speaking, we deserve better from Ranbir than the walking the beaten path! Dude, you’re supposed to replace one of the big Khans as a superstar in future, better use your brain like them and give us some intelligent and creative marketing for film promotions!

We love to watch your movies, well, most of them, anyways!

But we also know where her heart truly lies. So the tagline might go something like this.

He is the Singham; he is the Sultan Mirza of Bollywood. He’s got the Good and the Bad both on his side.

Relax. The queen of hearts is alright, it all happened during the filming of Abhishek Kapoor’s Fitoor. Actually, she got into her convertible and a camera was placed in front of her. She started driving without even realizing that the car door was open. She soon ended up hitting a wall and there was a loud sound. Despite all this Aditya Kapoor the fellow actor kept on acting and was in the scene all the time. Thankfully no one was hurt but our deepest sympathy goes to that convertible car: p

This was just a Reel life case but we have some Real life Bollywood car crash cases too.

Stop! No! We aren’t talking about the guy you think we obviously would.

2.  Geeta Kapur

Recently a Bollywood choreographer named Geeta Kapur from DID fame was involved in a car accident case. It is said that she rammed her car into a boy on a street in Versova. However Geeta Kapoor being a good Samaritan, immediately called for an ambulance and the boy was admitted to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital. An FIR was registered and she was arrested by the Versova police but few hours later she was released on bail.

So, this brings us to the age old debate on women being GOOD drivers Or Bad drivers. Let’s shed some light on that.

3.  Driving a car is banned for women in Memphis

She could drive if there was a man in front of her car, waving a red flag to warn other people and cars.

However in India there is no need for such a stringent rule, perhaps what we can do is try and find the actual root cause or influencers – BAD Influencers.

Its celebration time for our Halwais because a modern girl is actually shown having a Laddu rather than a Dairymilk Silk in a seductive way. But this is a very scary thing for bikers and even for people who drive Nano!!

But as they say “Burai kitni bhi aage baad jaye, Sachai se humesha do kadaam piche rehti hai”

So, here we have our “Sachaike do kadam”– We mean two female role models from the Indian Racing industry.

7.  Neha Sharma

IndiGo co-pilot and Formula 4 racer

The only girl to win (placing second) at the JK Tyres 4-Stroke Karting Championship Season 2009, she also secured a podium finish in her first Rotax rookie race. More recently, in a Mercedes-Benz Performance Drive she was selected out of thousands to fill one of the top 12 slots, earning the opportunity to drive various Mercedes cars on the Buddha International Formula 1 circuit. Shortlisted to drive the E63 AMG at race pace, she made it to the top 5, and is thought to be the fastest girl in the country at 270 kmph. 

8.  Alisha Abdullah

Alisha has been fascinated by racing since she was a kid. As a nine-year-old, Alisha was drawn to go-karting. She was winning go-karting races by the time she was eleven. When she was just 13-years-old, she won the MRF National Go-Karting Championship and the Best Novice Award in the National level Formula Car Racing in the open class. She did her schooling in St. Kevin’s and pursued her higher secondary studies at Sacred Heart, Churchpark. She currently studies at LIBA.

Alisha then moved on to formula car racing and managed to come fifth in the JK Tyre National Racing Championship, 2004.

So on a final note; it doesn’t matter whether the person driving the car is a man or a woman.

Both the sides have their own share of Good & Bad drivers. What matters is our own perception towards female drivers because even men are guilty of rash driving and some are even trying to prove themselves as innocent in court for the past 12 years.

No matter how much we abuse the film industry and find flaws in the Hindi movies, Bollywood continues to rule despite the criticism. At times some films may be completely nonsensical or there are several cases of plagiarism in our films.

Bollywood however continues to enjoy audiences not only in India but also abroad. With audiences and popularity overseas Bollywood is the hub of employment opportunities for foreigners.

For example Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s debut in the Hindi film industry with the movie ‘Khoobsurat’.

He was still a popular figure before his stint at Bollywood. He had gained critical acclaim for his performance in ‘Khuda Ke Liye’.

Later he also became the heartthrob of many girls after his TV series appearances.

Katrina Kaif on the other hand was spotted by Kaizad Gustad at a show in London. She was a fashion model who got spotted for a film that had big star cast like Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, etc.

The film named ‘Boom’ however was a flop but she had her first step in the industry.

On the other hand we have actresses who really work hard and are much talented but struggle to find a place in the industry.

For example Yami Gautam who made appearances in serials and a Kannada movie Ullasa Utsaha before getting her breakthrough with ‘Vicky Donor’. No wonder her acting was very well received and she gained lot of recognition.

There is no harm in promoting and hiring talents from outside India but the problem arises when we fail to see and give the break to the deserving people from our own country.

A person who aspires to be an actor in this country goes through lot of struggles and hardships. Sharib Hashmi (born in Mumbai) had depicted the role of a struggling, aspiring actor in the film ‘Filmistaan’ that received very high critical acclaim.

He himself started his career as an assistant director in films and then writing for shows in order to one day make his way into this industry.

Here comes another of Salman’s ex-girlfriend to be fortunate or unfortunate enough to see her look-alikes being launched right after she broke up with him! Zareen came and went without any impact and Elli is waiting in the wings to make a debut, even if a small one. Zareen tried to copy Kat and failed. Hope Elli maintains some originality if she has to succeed or she would be another ‘me too’ kinds who tried too hard to replace the original!

Harman made his debut with one of the costliest movies of its times, Love Story 2050 and the whole world noticed! No, not for his superb acting or great storyline, but for the fact that how much he walked, talked, looked and danced like the original Greek God of India, Hrithik Roshan! One wonders, why didn’t he try to be himself and paint an original picture of him rather than trying to copy someone who is a darling of millions? Clearly a foolish move!

5) The Only Successful Look-alike Sonakshi Sinha – Reena Roy

From the moment Sonakshi Sinha made her debut opposite Salman Khan in Dabang, she has been constantly compared to yesteryear actress Reena Roy, who was at one point of time romantically linked with Sonakshi’s dad, Shatrughan Sinha! She does resemble her a lot, but Sonakshi is completely different in terms of her acting style and body language. She might have similar looks, but is a different person and that’s why she is succeeding!

After Katrina Kaif, Salman launches his ex-girlfriend’s sister in his first international production Dr Cabbie. The film also stars Kunal Nayyar, the clumsy Raj from Big Bang Theory and Vinay Virmani, the guy who was last seen in Akshay Kumar’s Speedy Singhs.

The promo looks interesting. It revolves around a guy who’s come abroad in search of a better paying job. He’s a doctor with dreams in his eyes, but things are not as hunky dory as he’d imagined them to be once he sets foot on the land of milk and honey. He ends up becoming a cabbie and taking to the wheels instead of wielding the stethoscope.

But by a stroke of incredible coincidence he gets to show his medical skills when a female passenger’s water breaks in the cab. And thereon starts a funny journey of a guy who starts a funky mobile clinic of sorts and treats people in his cab.

Kunal comes across as one of those goofy Indian guys in the film. He entertained us throughout all the seasons of Big Bang…hoping he will do the same in the movie as well. Isabele’s character is not revealed in the promo yet. But for starters she’s got a cool pretty opportunity to begin her film journey with an off-beat film rather than some clichéd flick.

Salman also gives a mini introduction in the beginning of the promo, asking people to watch out his first international venture. Well, looks like Isabele’s got a godfather in the industry already. I doubt she needs to worry about much from hereon.

Dr Cabbie looks like fun. I am excited to see Kunal in a different role, which so diametrically opposite to his geeky character in Big Bang. More power to Dr Cabbie…You tell us if this one’s going to be on your must watch list.
