Crazy Invention  – Yes, who would’ve thought that someone will really invent such thing as – Motorcycle-swing-on-a-crane? Seriously, there was certainly something wrong with the inventor for sure. But, even though it seems something made out of madness, one has to admit that the ride looks insanely amazing.

Okay, you know when I said there must be something wrong with inventor? Well, the reality is there were “inventors” who were absolutely DRUNK during creating this idea. Well, now I believe, people are right when they say “Anything can happen when you’re drunk and dumb”. So, these inventors in their drunken situation decided to attach a motorbike to a giant man-swing.

So, the Dutch man and his friends came up with this craziest yet amazing idea and they quickly tied the motorcycle onto a crane and swings from both the sides outside a house. Humans, in their desire to make life simpler, have tried to create robots. These experiments are not restricted to just one region, but are popular in many countries.

Even Hollywood has contributed its fair share in this fictional regard with movies like Terminator, The Machine, Transformers and Wall-E.

Thanks to such fictions, rumours often circulate about robots taking over the world one day. Can that happen? Honestly, we don’t think so.

This confirmation comes in light of a Canterbury-based robot predicting Afghanistan as the winner of the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup. That is just preposterous. Here we look at several other reasons that justify why robots are incapable of ruling the world –

One might wonder what could be the alternate procedure if antibiotics cannot treat CDI.

That is where fecal microbiota transplantation plays its part. The procedure requires a fecal microbiota preparation where stool from a healthy patient is transplanted into the patient’s colon. The patient need not worry about fecal bacteria since it is mixed with saline, then strained and reintroduced into the patient’s colon through enema.

A verdict recently passed by the Punjab and Haryana high court is bound to work in favour of jail inmates.

The court, in what might be seen as a historic verdict, announced that the jail inmates can have sex with their respective partners, provided they are married and wish to bear a child.

This order was passed on Tuesday and made public which read that the right of jail inmates to have conjugal visits was held. In addition to that, the court also spoke about artificial insemination for offspring being a basic right for people.

It was Justice Surya Kant who passed the judgement calling the matter a crucial subject and urging the stake-holders to come together and take a liberal view on the same.

You might wonder what prompted him to come to one such decision.

Well, the story involves a couple – Jasvir Singh and Sonia – who were held up in the Central Jail in Patiala for committing the heinous crime of murdering a 16-year-old boy for ransom.

The couple was awarded death penalty. They filed a petition in the court seeking permission for conjugal visits for the sake of a progeny. The court rejected the plea looking at the crime that the individuals had committed by killing the teenager.

This was when Justice Kant made an observation of the same. Though the court has now allowed jail inmates to meet their respective partners for their progeny’s sake, there are certain conditions to control the law.

Conjugal visits might seem new to Indian prison scenario, but it is not completely alien to overseas inmates.

Mark Chapman, the killer of John Lennon, is said to be paid visit once every year by his wife for sex. She also makes him pizzas and watches repeats of Wheel of Fortune with her partner. According to the wife, the couple gets 44 hours of alone time in a private caravan where they cater to their physical and romantic needs.

Jail rapes are also an issue that has bothered the Indian jail authorities on numerous occasions. Allowing conjugal visits might permanently suppress rapes by inmates over their weaker adversaries.

While pronouncing his judgement, Justice Surya Kant called having a progeny as people’s fundamental right.

He was quoted as saying, “A society which is currently involved in academic and intellectual debates on ‘gay-rights’ or the recognition of ‘third-gender’, cannot shy away nor can it keep concealed under the carpet the pragmatic concept of conjugal visits of the jail inmates”.

The end of teen years is without a doubt depressing.

Eating numerous junk foods comprising carbohydrates is allowed. You will gain weight which will further teach you the importance of following gym routine. In your 30s, your metabolism begins to weaken, something that is not the case in the twenties. Eat your heart out, not literally.

In your twenties, it is alright to end your nights in the mornings. Staying out way too late is something you can get away with, as you are young and getting a taste of the nightlife is only natural.

Twenties is the time to live and not rest. Sleeping way into the night is another forgivable offense during this phase of life. You won’t get to do this in the thirties; so live (or rather, stay awake) while you are young.

Once you enjoy the nightlife and get used to it, you are bound to show up at the office drunk one time or another. Although it is not formally okay, just for experience sake, you should take that chance.

Dating the wrong person will force you to create a “type” list wherein you exhibit your qualities to know whether or not you are compatible with another person. However, as you get older, you will realise that there is no such thing as type.

On times, you might feel lonely (or horny) and might end up with a one night stand. It is important that you do not look for love in the person you spent the night with, but look for love when you feel ready.

This phase in life also teaches you that money is not the most important asset in life. There will come a time you will take up a job that you rue, but you took it because the money was good.

During its last three runs on #StarPlus, MasterChef India has been the most watched cooking show in the country.

Hopefully, it will continue to be so when its fourth season airs soon.

The reason why we say ‘hopefully’ is because there is something fishy this time around. The Amul and Adani Wilmar-sponsored show is set to go vegetarian. Yes, there will be no fishy business on the show, literally.

The earlier versions of the popular cookery show saw the contestants bend rules to create some of the finest dishes ever tasted by the judges. The judge panel, which includes host Sanjeev Kapoor, will see replacement when Chef Ranveer Brar will take over the reins from Kunal Kapur, who has judged the competition in the last three seasons.

Statistics have also revealed that vegetarian culinary creations on the show, thus far, have been less than 20%. Could this be a major concern for MasterChef India walking into its fourth season?

Sanjeev Kapoor, on the other hand, was in favour of the decision. As defense, he claimed India as initially being a vegetarian country and cooking vegetarian dishes as being more challenging.

A country where vegetarians are already a despised population, the decision to make MasterChef India does not seem wise. The STAR network, however, has no plans of backing out.

The official announcement must have infuriated people who were eagerly looking to be a part of the show this season. Speculations were also rife that the sponsors might have influenced the decision, something that was immediately brushed off by the network.

Twitteratis (and non-vegetarians, probably) immediately took to the social network expressing their grief about the decision.

Tweets like “They should also not show episodes of MasterChef India on Tuesdays and special upvaas days” and “They could also have a “Jain Only” #MasterChefIndia and ban all root vegetables. Aspiring chefs must be challenged to be creative” were posted online.

Nevertheless, this is a great opportunity for vegetarian cooking enthusiasts, who were unable to participate in the show due to obvious creative restrictions, to get their hands on the coveted title.

MasterChef India is the adaptation of the culinary show MasterChef that originated in the UK in 1990. Other than India, the show has its franchises in countries like Australia, Pakistan, Spain and USA, to name a few.

It is no secret that India is a land of diverse cultures.

Every community has its share of beliefs and traditions that come from their respective ancestry and is followed till date.

In India, marriages are massive arrangements with thousands of people attending a particular wedding, based on the invite.

Indians heartily spend their savings to make this momentous occasion as cheerful for everyone as possible.

Here’s the interesting part though, which is also not a secret. Every caste/religion has its wedding customs that keep the attendees interested at all times.

Let’s take a look at different ethnicities and the norms they follow during weddings –

Also known as Kumaoni weddings, the marriage alliances carried out in Himachal Pradesh are unique. It is also the only Indian ethnicity that makes use of flags – red and white – representing the groom’s and the bride’s side, respectively. The initial sequence is when the red flag follows the white during the marriage procession, until the ceremonies at the girl’s home are completed, after which the white flag follows the red one.

In Bengali weddings, the mother of the groom is not supposed to be present at the wedding site. That is the tradition. On the bride’s side, married women from her family wake early at dawn to assemble a plate of aarti, which is complemented with sweets, and visit the Ganges to invite the God to the wedding.

The Bihari wedding practically tests the skills of the bride-to-be. Once all the customs and traditions are completed at the wedding hall, the customs tend to continue at the groom’s residence, which now will be home to the bride as well. Women in the groom’s family will place earthen pots, one after the other, on the head of the bride carrying which she seeks blessings of the elders. The outcome of the test predicts whether or not the bride will be able to balance the family well.

Arguably, the simplest form of Indian wedding ritual is of the Rabha tribe in Assam, where the marriage is performed just with the exchange of garlands by both parties. There are no pheras or lavish parties; the exchange of garlands is followed by a feast. The couple, however, is expected to play a big role on the first day at the groom’s home, where they not only cook the food for the male members and the elders, but also serve them personally.

In the Punjabi wedding, the girls on the bride’s side play a prank on the groom when they hide his shoes. The groom, at the end of the ceremony, is presented with the shoes and is asked for ‘ransom’, which he must pay in cash.

Gujarati Hindus follow their set of wedding rituals which they call aeki beki. The tradition requires use of a silver dish comprising the rings which is filled with milk, rose petals and vermillion. The bride and the groom have to dip their hand in the mixture in search for the ring. It is the best of seven series and the one, who finds the ring four times, is predicted as the person to ‘wear the pants’ in the family. A pre-wedding ritual also includes the groom visiting the bride’s residence to seek blessings, where his mother-in-law gives her blessing by pulling his nose playfully.

The Tamil Brahmin (Iyer) weddings recite an age old story during the ceremony, where the groom has a change of heart before entering the mandap, in the process deciding to live life as an ascetic. The ritual requires the bride’s father to reach out to the groom and convince him to change his decision. Bhagwad Gita, umbrella, sandals and hand fan are the props that the father uses to bring the groom back.

The Nairs of Kerala do not believe in setting an auspicious time for the wedding. The auspicious time for them to perform the rituals is when they set out from their residence to the temple or the bride’s ancestral home. The wedding usually takes place at daytime, where the bride flaunts chunks of gold jewellery. Also, unlike other traditions, the Malayalees walk around the mandap thrice and not seven times.
