Call centres have been a regular feature in India’s growth story and they have been around for almost 15-20 years.

This means that we are in a position where we can actually change the way the world functions and are able to contribute to the society in a manner befitting our varied talents and skill sets!

After being CEO’s of some of the biggest companies in the world, being part of UN in a big manner, another gem to add on to our success stories abroad is the appointment of four Indian-origin Canadians as ministers in the newly elected Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s cabinet!

These are 42 years old Harjit Sajjan as the defence minister, 38 yr old Navdeep Bains as minister for innovation, science and economic development, Amarjeet Sodhi as minister for infrastructure and Bardish Chagger as Minister of small business and tourism!

Can you just imagine the importance of it? An Indian as the defence minister of a country consisting majorly of white people! Virat Kohli is the man of the day!

He is making his debut as a test-captain on the Indian soil and it is not going to be an easy beginning. He doesn’t need to prove his credential to anyone what with coming from behind and snatching victory in Sri Lanka and showcasing his master skills.

However, in India it is going to be different and that too against South Africa, a team that is in its full elements!

There was a time when India was really strong in its own backyard at least, with players like Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, VVS Lakshman, Anil Kumble and Virender Sehwag ruling the roost and ensuring that no one was able to defeat us in India.

Things have changed now. The senior most player of the current lot, M.S.Dhoni, like others, has also retired from the longer format of the game and there is no one experienced enough in the time to guide the younger lot. Virat knows it very well that he will have to lead from the front and that’s where his challenge lies. Openers like Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Cheteshwar Pujara are still not settled and despite being powerhouse of talent, each one of them is still miles away from being consistent in their performances.

On their good day, they can beat the best teams of the world single-handedly, but that one “good day” comes rarely!

On top of it, our bowling unit is still not fully functional. Either our pacers are going after pace or trying to maintain right line and length. Either they try to stop runs or they try to take wickets. There is no perfect balance and no leading senior bowler, who can really come forward, take the onus of producing results and inspire juniors in the team!

In this backdrop, the test series with South Africa looks really difficult and very challenging as the visitors are very well settled and having enormous talent amidst their ranks to create chaos for us. While Indian team is still looking to find the right combination of batsmen as well as bowlers, the visitors are looking sure of their strategy on how to contain India and give us a knocking punch!

Virat knows it all, but the question is whether he is ready to take the bull by its horns or are we going to just see a lot of experimentation without productive results?

Let’s hope our youngsters come out all guns blazing and prove their mettle! When fighting against the best, one’s best comes out!

We are just considered to be getting it all anyways and bunk hum theories keep coming up with weird statistics that men think about sex every 7 seconds! Like what the hell? Be reasonable, 7 seconds is way too much, make it at least 9 or 10 seconds? We also feel hungry, sleepy, tired etc. and are not horny 24X7! Damn it, we work also! No, don’t let your imagination fly again that the only work we know is in a bed! But if you thought so, great! At least for a change you might agree that men do some great wonders in bed and are not to be blamed for women being unsatisfied in their sexual encounters! Okay, well some men might fail you, but not all of them!

Believe me or not, many of us put equal efforts in doing both and that too without even realising it! We live our lives in a way that all our efforts in building up our career are negated by simultaneous acts of destroying it with our actions and we seem totally oblivious to them!

Let me share with you the thoughts you need to be aware of things that can kill your career so that you don’t destroy your career:

1) Self Doubt

This is the very first obstacle to our success and proves to be a nemesis to our potential to be a superstar at work! Be sure of yourselves, be confident and know what you’re doing. Don’t doubt your capabilities and if there are any doubts, work on them and clear them off. Some people, even after getting success doubt their abilities and think they might have got success by fluke or by luck. No, you might get success at work once by fluke, twice by luck, but not everytime! So have self-belief and grow ahead!

2) Over-Analysis

A lot of people over-think about every little thing happening at work. They minutely dissect every decision they took, what they said, what they wore and it doesn’t end there. They go to the extent of dissecting colleagues’ and boss’s life in the same manner, just to be sure they are updated and know what’s happening around them. It is fine to be aware, but not in this detailed manner. Over thinking about everything leads to complications and you start deriving conclusions based on your imaginations and assumptions that only result in your work getting messed up!

This is a result of over-thinking.
