Writers feel and writers write!

When you read a book by Chetan Bhagat, you don’t feel like what is written above. The reason I straight away wrote the most important point is, I don’t want to leave the readers of this honest post waiting to read the important points in the middle of this article.

Youngsters, if they want to read a book, have a lot of choice nowadays. They are exposed to an array of books and authors that might interest them. I certainly wanted to use the word ‘overexposed’ because it is the truth. Nowadays you see youngsters reading books at bus stands, railway stations, coffee shops, in colleges and in schools, but the most important question which arises out of such a thing is, are they feeling whatever they are reading?

There is a big difference between a writer and a great writer. I want the readers of this article to know that difference, so that pretentious writers feel the shame which is being bestowed upon them.

I will let you know a thing which I thought and felt while reading Chetan Bhagat. While I was reading one of his books, I felt that the story was being fed into my head, someone was telling me and I was listening. There was no scope for my thoughts to reply to whatever that was written in the book. There was an explanation to everything that was happening which I felt was very unnecessary.

The characters that are often shown in his stories are just being used by him so that they take the story forward till the climax and the book meets an end. The women characters in his books are nothing much than a portrayal of fake womanhood and reminds me of the sleazy content that was made famous by pulp fiction writers like Ved Prakash Sharma and Surendra Mohan Pathak. Bhagat fans! the women in his books do not fight for sexual freedom, they become the prisoners of sex. The truth is destroyed and the lies are sugar coated. All of these things sum up to the concept of literature blasphemy and the shameful irony is that nowadays this is the formula for a successful book. The writers are not the only ones to be blamed, the readers should also be blamed.

The above paragraph exposes the not so enduring writing style of Chetan Bhagat. Let us now talk about a writer which is almost forgotten by the people, people do not read him but they are not aware that whatever books they are reading(I am talking about the books by coming off age writers) has a little bit of him in them, ‘Saadat Hasan Manto’.
Every sentence ever written by him still strikes the readers with a sword of epiphany.  Saadat Hasan Manto wrote the truth and served it hot and cold at the same time. His works reveal his personality, they reveal that Manto was a theist and an atheist at the same time. Sane, insane were not just words for him, they were experiences. One can easily call him the Edgar Allan Poe of the Urdu world

Manto in his books did not answered questions, he asked them and asked them with utmost clarity. The clarity which no writer has achieved ever since. Your thoughts are given the permission to express themselves and you are the one who has to answer the questions. His writings can be understood by kids and the older masses and this proves that he has an universal appeal. The women in his stories gradually become the most important part of the stories. Even if there was no woman involved in the story, Manto tried to make the whole story a woman and succeeded in doing that. A quality which is not found nowadays. Inspired by the works of Maxim Gorky and Guy de Maupassant, Manto was arguably the greatest Urdu writer of his time.

If one wants to be a writer, he/she should be very careful with what he reads because if you want to write good you should read good.

Why everybody wants to be a Bhagat and not a Manto?

Here’s what we are talking about:

Exercise #1: One Minute Breathing Exercise To Start It Up 

To make your workout routine more productive and unique, practice Yoga-based breathing exercises. Breathing techniques reduce stress levels and calm your heart rate. Sitkari Pranayama, as outlined in Patanjali‘s Yoga Sutra, is an excellent breathing technique that improves focus, lessens anxiety, and cools excess heat in the nervous system.

Technique To Do it

Sit on the floor or in a chair and slightly raise your chin. Open your mouth a little, then move your tongue behind the teeth. Next, inhale gradually through the opening between the upper and lower teeth. You should feel the cool air wash over your tongue. Gently, close your mouth and exhale through the nose as you slowly lower your chin back to its normal position. Repeat for one-to-two minutes. And Voila! You will feel instantly revitalised!

Exercise #2: Forward Bend 

The forward bend or crane exercise stretches your hamstrings, shoulders, and chest muscles. It enhances the flexibility in your body, making the daily movements easier. It also helps to cut down on the abdominal and side waist fat, if you keep on to it regularly.

Technique To Do It 

Simply interlock your fingers behind your back, then slowly lower your forehead to your knees into a forward bend. Maintain a slight bend as you rise back up, unlock your fingers, and slowly raise your arms toward the ceiling then bring your arms down to your sides. Repeat it 10-15 times in one go. You can make 3-4 sets of 10-15 reps each.

Exercise #3: Side Planks 

Side Planks strengthen and stretch the shoulder muscles and the oblique muscles on the side of the upper body. It helps to ease off the stiff back for those in constant sitting jobs and very less movement during the day. Doing it regularly will bring an amazing agility in the body.

Technique To Do It

Starting on either your right side or left side, lie on your side and place your hand on the floor. For balance, stack the feet as you lift your body off the floor. Inhale as you extend your free arm toward the ceiling, keeping your abdominals tight. Hold this pose for 8- 10 seconds, then lower your arm. Repeat 10 times on each side.

Side Planks

Exercise #4: Reverse Lunges

Compared to a basic lunge, reverse lunges place less stress on the knees while still toning your legs. It Enhances your body balance and works directly on lower limbs, strengthening them for all the other strenuous activities throughout the day and the weekends.

Technique To Do It 

Stand tall with your arms at your sides, and take a step backward with your left foot. Slightly, bend your hips, then lower your left knee to the floor without fully touching the floor and lifting your left heel. Slightly “lunge” forward, then return to standing. Alternate legs for 10 to 20 total reps.

Reverse Lunges

Many times, it can be difficult to find new, simple exercises that don’t require a machine. However, by incorporating these easy exercises and others, you can stay fit and relaxed without a gym membership, given the hectic work schedules.

Yes the gorgeous lady is back to spread her magic with Zee TV show Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani!

The show which premiered its first episode yesterday was well received by the audience and the fans.

The show became the talk of the time ever since the promo went on air. This is also Drashti Dhami’s first show after her marriage to her long-term beau Neeraj Khemka.

The show stars Drashti Dhami opposite Siddhant Karnick and veteran actress Anita Raj.

The story is set in 1945 and revolves around Gayatri (played by Drashti), the daughter of a rich moneylender who gets married to Rana Indravadhan Singh Deo (played by Siddhant Karnick). He marries her for political gains but is still in love with his dead wife. The story revolves around how he falls in love with Gayatri. Anita Raj plays Rana Indravadhan Singh’s mother on the show.

The best thing about the show is the comeback of Drashti Dhami who was missing from the screens since her last show Madhubala wrapped up.

Talking about the first episode Drashti Dhami truly impressed all with what she does best-acting! She is impressive as Gayatri and showed all the emotions and excitement really well.

Anita Raaj justified herself as royal Rajmata and she truly steals the show with her style and experienced performance. Siddhant Karnick although had not much to do in the first episode in terms of dialogue but he did complete justice to whatever he did in the first episode. Lot more expected from him and the cast.

Everything from the vintage cars, to the palace, and look of the character went well the era of the show.

We can’t really decide the fate of the show from its first episode but all in all fans look impressed and even to us the show looks promising.

The show has managed to keep us hooked for now and the TRPs next week will surely tell where the show stands in terms of rating.

With the popularity of Drashti Dhami we are sure the show is deemed to perform well.

Kudos Drashti Dhami for once again impressing all of us as Gayatri.

Daljeet Kaur and Shaleen Bhanot had a love marriage. The couple even won Nach Baliye season 4. There were already some reports of trouble in their paradise but what shocked us was the revelation by the actress. In an interview to a nationaly daily, Daljeet shared, “He grabbed me by my throat, pinned me against the wall and tried to strangle me. My maid pleaded with him to leave me. Fortunately, he left the house instantly and never returned. That’s when I decided to file an FIR. The medical report clearly states that I had strangulation marks and my neck was swelling by the minute.”

But Daljeet isn’t the first actress who admitted of being in an abusive relationship. Their world may look glamorous to some from outside, but the darkness in their relationship and life is only visible to them.

Rucha never spoke about the issues but admitted there was definitely trouble in her marriage.

Dimpy Ganguly

She married Rahul Mahajan, son of late politician Pramod Mahajan in front of the whole world. In a reality show Rahul Ka swayamvar, Rahul chose Dimpy to be his bride in national television. Few months later, Dimpy filed a complaint against Rahul for physically hurting her, later they resolved and went out to participate in Nach Baliye.. However later the couple filed for divorce.

Deepshikha Nagpal

This one was also shocking when it came in the public knowledge. Deepshikha lodged a police complaint against Kaishav for physically assaulting her. The actress claimed that Kaishav asked her for money when she decided to end the marriage. She further stated that she had to take this decision for the sake of her children. Who would have thought her story with Keshav will end like this?

It is indeed sad that these actresses had to go through this in their personal life.

According to a survey, on an average a friendship lasts only seven years, but obviously there are exceptions to the rule and some last an entire lifetime! It takes a lot to build a friendship, but it can be broken in no time if you’re not careful.

If you want to keep your best friend in your life forever, don’t do the following things, ever!

1) Lying

Let’s accept we all lie at some point or the other for whatever reasons despite being taught since childhood to always say the truth. However, if you want to be with your best friend, lying is a big no-no!

2) Gossiping

Creativity is subjective!

Putting this in simple words means that what is funny for me, could be boring for you. What is sad for me could be quite funny for you! What is interesting for me, could be hurtful for you!

That’s saying, creativity has its own limitations in terms of saying or depicting the ideas one has. In our own mind, we have absolute freedom to think or imagine anything. The craziest of ideas or thoughts can take birth in our minds, but the problem arises when some of us cross the lines and put those ideas into action, for the world to witness.

Religion, not only in India, but globally is a very sensitive subject. No one, mark it, just no one has any rights or liberties to play with others’ faith or religion just for the sake of proving a point or showcase his/her creativity by downplaying someone’s revered Gods and Goddesses.

This is exactly what is happening these days when some artists are forgetting their responsibilities towards the society and are being insensitive towards the feelings of the common man.

Few days back there was a disgusting painting doing the rounds of internet showing Lord Ganesha, Jesus Christ, Moses, Buddha, all part of a sex orgy! The sick mentality of the artist was on full display to disregard the religious sentiments of disciples, just for a laugh! How sick is it?

The latest to add on this brigade is artist Akram Husaain. His recent painting in Guwahati depicting Lord Krishna getting intimate with bikini clad gopis in a bar created a lot of controversy and rightly so! It’s not about painter’s religion, but what he is trying to do. Lord Krishna has devout disciples not only in India, but the world over. Their religious sentiments have to be considered before trying to make their idol look like an average mortal doing acts of sin!

As a disciple, one places God on the highest possible pedestal of morality and sees HIM as the ultimate practitioner of ethics, as a light to guide during turbulent times, as the ultimate one to finally melt into. To paint that GOD as someone who is no different than others is actually playing with faith!

When everything is lost, a man turns to the ultimate power called God. However, if one realises that whom he considered as God can’t rescue him or is incapable of rescuing him, all hope will be lost! This is not just about a painting; one has to understand the repercussions that these have on ordinary mortals who may not be as intelligent and evolved as the artist considers himself to be!

Akram isn’t the only one though. Before him the Picasso of India, M. F. Hussain also experimented with nude portraits of Goddesses and had to eventually live in exile till he passed away.

There are a host of issues plaguing the world today, which have to be brought into light, which have to be spoken about so that humanity evolves. Issues like wars, terrorism, child malnutrition, sex-trade, etc are humungous enough to deal with rather than adding fuel to the fire by these irresponsible paintings!

It would be better for painters to use their craft to unite rather than divide by playing with emotions of common man! Don’t use the craft for some cheap publicity, but use the talent that God has bestowed on you for the betterment of society!
