Well, for most of us, it is a family business and over past few decades, few outsiders have been able to make their mark in this profession and the only ones to have risen to the top are those whose families are into it for generations. Then, you might ask, what can we learn from it except nepotism and being corrupt?

Everything can teach you something and politics is no different. Indian politicians may be infamous for indulging in corrupt practices and being spineless creatures, but they can still give you a few Management Lessons that can really help you in your career.

Let me share the top 5 Management Lessons:

1) Try Everything

Indian politicians don’t leave any stone unturned in their quest for power and votes. No matter where they have to go, what skills they have to upgrade to or employ, only thing that matters to them is success! Now, their means may be debatable, but the idea to go that extra length for success is undeniably perfect!

2) Equality

Don’t cringe on this! Yes, they are known for favouritism and having biases towards their own near and dear ones, but this is also a place where if they feel the chances of success are diminished by the presence of their loved one, they will either withdraw that person or replace him/her immediately! The bottom line is results matter, performances matter, nothing else should be given priority! Whether those results are delivered by your friend or competitor at job or someone you don’t like working with, it should not come in your way of achieving success for your company!

3) Goal Oriented

Elections happen every 5 years in a normal course of flow and that is the only thought in these politicians mind right after winning one! Every action is keeping in mind the next election and nothing moves them from their goal-oriented approach. Similarly, you should also work according to fixed goals and objectives and everything should revolve around it only. The major differences being, like politicians, don’t employ unfair, wrong and sometime illegal means to reach your objectives!

4) Improvise

One thing that must be applauded about our political class is that they improvise, improve and keep changing on a regular basis. That change might be good or bad in public eye, but they are not fixed on an idea or way of life. Whatever helps them to achieve their goals, they work on it. In the same manner, you got to be flexible in your approach and be open about change! Adopt new strategies, discard old ones, and try new experiments as long as you have your eyes set on your goals.

5) Resources

Nothing is taboo for these guys. Money, power, contacts, relationships, acquaintances and whatever you might think of, is part of their arsenal to meet their objectives. Obviously a lot of their actions are illegal, corrupt and unethical and you don’t have to try them, but otherwise take help from anyone and everyone to meet your targets. Even a peon in your office is a valuable resource if utilised efficiently!

Take the good points of these politicians’ life and let it work in your career growth. Leaving aside the bad part is always in your hands and should not dictate your thought process of totally ignoring the political class. After all, most of them have achieved a stupendous amount of success, love and votes of the common man and they must have done something right to reach there, isn’t it?

However, except for stalling the Parliamentary proceedings and raking up non-issues, the party hasn’t been able to do much to revive its sagging fortunes.

In these times, yet again the only ray of light that everyone is looking at is Priyanka Gandhi Vadra!

No doubt, Rahul Gandhi has come back from his long introspective break and jumped into the thick of things, raising issues left, right and centre and trying to do everything possible to be counted as a serious politician. However, he is making all the right noises without offering solutions for any of the problems. In fact, he is not even realizing that many of the problems of today were created by his party’s government only over the years! This is one reason his respect amongst the ordinary citizens is not gaining much ground, even if his party members are trying to at least look like supporting him whole-heartedly.

This is why Priyanka is so important for the revival of the grand old party, but she is very rigid about her stand of not entering active politics. The joke doing the rounds is that she doesn’t want to take away her brother’s only source of employment. Frankly speaking, there is a lot of truth in this logic as well considering the fact that if she decided to throw her hat in the electoral politics, the party will definitely be divided in two, at least initially. One lobby will support her and another for Rahul! This division will not be good for Congress at all and might give fodder to other parties who will milk the situation to their benefit!

Secondly, she currently has her husband, Robert Vadra as a major liability in terms of land scams and corruption cases against him. It will be difficult for her to keep herself away from his wrong doings and the stains on her political journey will be too hard to be removed for any victory.

In short, even though she is the ultimate Ace who can make Congress count again, she is tied down due to the inefficiencies of her own immediate family members. The only factor that can work against her personally as of now is that no one knows her political views and vision in detail. She has been capturing the common man’s imagination purely due to her strong resemblance to her grandmother, late Mrs. Indira Gandhi and for her no-nonsense attitude visible during her electoral promotions in support of her mom, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and brother. Add on to it her gift of the gab, her ability to give right sound bites and her charisma and you have a winner on hand!

May be more than her own willingness to join politics, the atmosphere isn’t conducive enough for her to step into electoral politics. She has to enter only when she is assured of a massive victory, kind of a big bang in politics. Anything less than that will not befitting the potential Queen of Indian Politics!

Politicians are considered to be the most corrupt, liars, manipulators, cold-blooded animals who are out there to skin a living human alive for their own selfish greed of money and power. But where have these so called monsters come from? How come we see the worst human qualities only when someone enters a profession and not otherwise?

The truth is, all these horrible human traits are present in each and every one of us.

It is just a matter of fact as to when these demons raise their head and make us look like monsters. It is all about the opportunity one gets and how that person deals with it. Politicians tend to make the best of every possible opportunity to advance their own agenda and sometimes even go to the extent of creating such opportunities. But can they do it alone? Is it possible to rule forever without the subjects wanting to be ruled? Is it possible to exploit someone without that someone agreeing or submitting to exploitation?

That’s where we, the common citizens, come into the picture. Nobody can suppress us, nobody can demand bribes from us, and nobody can force us to do illegal things unless we say yes to them! It is our impatience, our urgency to beat everyone else that forces us to support this corrupt breed! Businessmen bribe to get bigger deals for bigger profits. Common man bribes to get his work sorted as he doesn’t want to stand in queues or waste his time in getting basic things done.

True, time is valuable and the onus is on the government to make the system work for the betterment of ordinary citizens, but it is also a common man’s job to ensure the government does its job well! If it doesn’t, it is our duty to kick it out, to bring a more efficient one. The bottom line is that either we can go on cribbing about corruption and corrupt politicians not doing enough for us or we take the charge of our own lives in our hands and decide to slog it out for our rights! The journey is not going to be easy, a lot of comforts will have to be forsaken, but then sweet fruits are only available after hard labour!

It is not that only Indian politicians are corrupt. If we check out this breed in other countries like Britain and America, the level of corruption is mind boggling. The only ray of light there is that development work happens smoothly, the common man gets his basic living and the corruption is limited only to the highest levels of government that doesn’t impact day to day lives of ordinary citizens. However, it doesn’t mean that corruption is ok. No, it is not, but when it comes to our country, we can safely say that we are as much a part of this rut as these politicians are.

This is high time that we realize our own responsibilities and duties and work towards eliminating corruption from our country. It starts with us, by not paying bribes, by not being overly greedy, by following rules, and by being ready to become a part of another freedom struggle, for a corruption-free India!

However, in an intelligent country of ours, every state is having difficulty in understanding the basic definition of adult. It’s like, who the hell is an adult? Should an adult be defined based on body size and shape? Or by age? Or by mental maturity? Or by the money in his or her pocket?

The governments across the country are distressed by the question of the century and despite having multiple committees and debates, there is no single conclusion to be drawn as to what should be an ideal age to start drinking. Some states have passed laws making the legal drinking age at 25, while others are keeping at 21.

Here are reasons why why age to drink should be 18 years as the legal age to start drinking:

1) People Drink Anyways

No matter what is the age criteria, for those who know the way get their hands on alcohol anywhere in the country! Yes, it is not advisable for kids to drink alcohol, but look around and you will find so many teenagers drinking frequently. Rather than teaching those youngsters how to bribe and get into corrupt ways for their daily quota of drinks, make the age at 18! At least it saves them from buying liquor from black market for 3-7years, depending on which state they are in!

2) Legal Revenue

Yes, Mr. Minister kindly note that right now the prohibitions and ad hoc age criteria are making your government lose vital revenue, which is anyways getting generated via the black market. How about making it legal so the liquor sells over the table and your coffers get filled by genuine revenues that can be, hoping against hope, spent on the welfare of common man!

3) One Criteria

Save the youth of this country from being confused about their rights. I mean, vote at 18, marry at 21 for boys, liquor at 25 or 21 etc. A guy will sit and think as to whether he is really ready for the world? The whole nation wants boys to shoulder the country’s responsibilities, but they are not allowed to take basic decisions of their life. If they are to be spoon-fed everything, why bother with responsibilities and stuff?

4) Freedom For Girls

Despite all the noise about women empowerment, girl-child marriages are still rampant in major part of the country. This means that most girls are mothers before they turn 18! So legally a girl is allowed to marry at 18, that law is not enforced or executed anyways, and she can touch liquor only when she turns 21 or 25? Is liquor a more difficult decision of life than marriage or kids?

5) Biology

All you decision-makers sitting in the comfort zone of your offices, please read biology and understand that human evolution is causing physical and mental changes in human development at a much faster rate than imagined. Therefore, girls are hitting puberty sooner than usual, the boys are growing a beard faster than expected and the world is changing fast! Therefore, trust the youth of the country, educate them about the ills of liquor and then let them make their decisions. And if you don’t trust the youth, then ban liquor! No, you won’t do that because there are revenues to be earned, right?

Well, all these politicians take such calls according to their vote-bank and dubious analytical methods. Apply common sense and take decisions that can be considered wise. As such today’s and coming generation is much smarter and wiser than the yesterday’s one, so don’t try to fool them!

Of course we are talking about politicians!

However, don’t let the hate get to your mind and do something stupid with these so called netas like killing them!

Instead, let’s see if there are other ways how to torture them and give them a taste of their own medicine.

In fact our proud BSF and CRPF guys are already practicing such things, even if unintentionally!

And mind you, the result is heart-warming and going to give you such pleasure, which you cannot derive from anything else, ever!

Just yesterday our home minister, Mr. Rajnath Singh visited CRPF facility in Vasant Kunj for a function and lights went out! Imagine his plight that he had to sit in a totally dark room waiting for electricity to be restored. Let’s tell you one thing guys, even with an entire security squadron around a politician, it is going to be a nightmare for him to be in a public place in dark! We wonder how Mr. Singh must have felt in those few minutes! Even if he doesn’t accept it, we are sure those few moments must have brought in front of him his entire life, all the good and bad deeds and since he is a hardened politician, definitely more of bad deeds!

That wasn’t the only event though. Few months back at the same place, Mr. Rajnath Singh was stuck in a lift and the poor man was pulled out from the rooftop of lift after couple of hours!

Guess what, Mr. Singh is the guinea pig for all such wonderful experiments being conducted in the country to learn how we can torture our beloved corrupt politicians without actually harming them. Okay, if their blood pressure moves up and down faster than the speed of light, we are not responsible for that!

There have been other instances where this political class has been brought to its knees.

A prime example is of the stage breaking down at a political rally! There are so many instances like those that it seems as if the entire stage-construction community is exchanging notes on how to prepare bad quality stages and scare the shit out of the neta trying to give his long bhaashan!

Let us think of some more of such weird ideas which does not harm these politicians, but let them know that they are human, at the same level as that of a common man and that if we won’t hurt you, circumstances shall definitely make sure that karma comes to bite you in your ass!

To exploit it is the biggest crime of all and this is what is exactly happening in Jayalalithaa’s case

She recently got acquitted in all the charges of corruption and her followers are dancing like crazy, but there was a time when she was charged and a lot of her followers felt heart-broken and took extreme steps of committing suicide. To follow one’s leader and love him/her is alright, but to lose one’s senses and sacrifice their life?

That’s not acceptable!

The point of contention here is that Jayalalithaa’s party AIADMK recently disbursed a compensation of more than Rs. 7 crores to the families of 244 people who committed suicide in the last year after she was found guilty in cases of corruption by a lower court.

That’s a big number!

Did anyone find out if these suicides were genuine or there was some foul play involved?

Is there a conspiracy to claim even natural death or accidental death as a suicide in the name of the supreme leader and earn some money?

Who is actually footing the bill?

Even if the party says it is paying from their coffers, where is the party getting funds from? In India, none of the political parties disclose the actual source of their funding and without transparency no one knows if the money is sourced from valid sources or through illegal means!

The most obvious question that follows is why is such crazy behavior allowed to go on?

Why is the faith of her followers exploited to such an extent that he/she blindly believes in her and can’t treat her like an ordinary mortal capable of committing crime? With so much of illiteracy and idol-worship in our country, it is a crime to make someone believe that you are as good as God and play with their lives. This, after considering that all suicides were genuine!

Why hasn’t Jayalalithaa done more than just lip service to explain to her followers that their lives are as important as hers? Instead of living an eccentric life and feeling like supreme God with such a crazy fan-following, she should ensure to impart knowledge and send right message to her followers. She has the party and state machinery at her disposal to make a positive difference! Instead, it seems she is happy with how things turn out because this way she can ensure more votes in coming elections!

However, if these suicides are not genuine and there is a new kind of scam brewing beneath the surface, no matter how big or small, it has to be investigated. The concerned agencies should find out as to what exactly is going on because sooner or later this can become a trend across the country where politicians can siphon money in the name of claims for people who died due to any reason whatsoever!

Human life is important and no politician deserves a human sacrifice!

Be aware and value your life more than a politician’s!

First of all, the achhe din are nowhere around the corner!

Sorry to rock your boat, but they are not coming anytime soon. All you have got and are going to get is pep-talk and nothing more. Development isn’t happening the way it should be, the government is not able to pass major bills required for businesses to look up as it doesn’t have the numbers in Parliament and prices are rising again!

In short, the frustrating days of UPA 2 are what one can expect given the way this current government is functioning.

If this goes on, by 2019 we all be screaming for a government change and a new PM!

Who can qualify?

Obviously the congress supporters will shout from the roof top to make their baba, Rahul Gandhi the PM!

However, the country knows his calibre and he doesn’t look like in the race, at least not today. May be if by some miracle he gets some brains, then I can’t say.

In such a scenario our best bet should be the current cricket team captain, MS Dhoni !

Yes I know he is not a politician, but by 2019 he would have retired from cricket and would have got time in his hands to join politics and contest an election. He started playing cricket for India and in no time was made captain based on his skills. He knows the game well and is a true leader. He has supported underdogs, spotted talent and gone against odds million times to steal victory from the jaws of failure! He is a true team player, a cool leader, takes smart decisions, and is unorthodox in approaching problems and providing unheard of, but successful solutions!

In short, all those qualities are what are required to be India’s PM!

We as a country have lot of potential, but no one is exploiting it in the right manner so that every citizen benefits and real growth happens to reduce poverty and inequality. The current government is only offering big words, bigger headlines instead of real action on the ground. Not to mention the fringe elements already working overtime to create a rift in the society on religious grounds!

And no, we don’t hear Mr. Modi rejecting such stupid statements simply because he can’t spoil his relations with RSS and VHP to stay in power!

I guess our best hope is someone like Mahi, a youngster to lead our young nation!

Enough of oldies catering to their selfish goals without giving a thought to what the nation wants!

But, these apps are not deciding the flow of our lives. They undeniably add colour, zing, excitement in our lives, and that’s about it.

What rules everything in our lives is: The Politics!

It is politics and politicians who make the rules and regulations. How we live, what we eat, see, talk, drink; practically anything and everything that we do with our lives, is controlled by our politicians, directly or indirectly!

Then why don’t we have an app to control this dominating species, which most of the times MISRULE?

The servants-turned-rulers must be shown their place the moment they do a ghotala! How nice and easy it would be to have an app which can help us decide which politician to vote for and which one to avoid. Or better still, once they are in power, how to keep a check on them!

Why not have a POLITICS APP!

For example, a minister watching porn in Parliament is highlighted on the app across the nation, the app users pick and vote, and immediately he gets suspended from power and debarred from politics for next 50 years!

Sounds too cool!!

Or better still, when a minister is trying to explain how having more children is good in an over-populated country, his credentials and whereabouts are immediately flashed on the Politics App, and we can choose a punishment for that politician through the app only! He can be made to stand on his chair in the Parliament holding his ears and told to learn the basic lessons of economics which he flunked!

*I am in love with this app already*

Or an illiterate goon politician trying to draft education policy for the country can be spanked through the app, at free will till he becomes a better person.

Can you imagine the possibilities? This public humiliation of actual politicians in a mobile app will be real fun and may be, just may be, an indication for the erring ones to mend their ways and come on the right track!

Through the app, we can ensure only the best candidates get to serve us. We can mark the ones in politics who are on the seats just because their father, grandfather and his grandfather was in politics, and can be just kicked out, unless he/she really deserves to be a part of the system. The app must have a button which connects all and takes consensus on such issues. And APPS VERDICT MUST BE COMPLIED TO!

Also, there can be an age limit for those trying to govern. Technically sound app should calculate the age of al the ruling ministers. After all, how can you expect a person to have a vision when he himself can’t see properly or hear properly or even breathe properly! We are a young nation and need the power of youth to bring change with expert guidance from the experienced souls. No point in handing out power to those living past their expiry date!

BRING THE APP THAT TELLS THE CORRECT AGE OF ALL THOSE POLITICIANS!

So who is going to work on such Politics Apps?

Surely, they will be massive hits in the market.

Just waiting eagerly for this innovation, aren’t you too?
