<p>&#8220;My husband &amp; I made the same New Year’s Resolution as millions of other people: <strong>to lose weight.</strong> Weighing a combined total of 765lbs &#8211; we were Fedup. We were prisoners in our own body &amp; spent many nights on the couch binge watching Netflix and mindlessly eating. We ate out daily and hardly ever cooked at home. We weren&#8217;t able to do things other couples our age could do such as <strong>hiking, biking, laser tag, be good parents in the future, fitting comfortably into booths at restaurants or movie theater seats, even romantic walks</strong> weren&#8217;t possible.</p>
<p>According to Forbes only 8% of people stick to their New Year’s Resolution. So what&#8217;s different about us? It became a lifestyle change, not some short term diet. We took the food we loved and made healthier versions, learned about cooking and calorie counting, fell in love with working out and taking care of ourselves, and <strong>we physically/mentally changed</strong>.</p>
<p>We realized how much we were capable of, and fell in love with the process. To stay motivated we focused on each day, not how far we had to go. We are now able to do more activities together, and our relationship has grown stronger. We are no longer just existing, <strong>we are living</strong>. We have dedicated this summer to having a bucket list summer and doing all the things we could never do before. Life is out there waiting for you! <p><span style="line-height: 1.5;">These 6 vegetables are all members of the cruciferous family of vegetables. They are already well known for their role in reducing the risk of cancer because of their high amount of phytochemicals. They are high in fibre, vitamin A, C and folic acid. And the added benefit is that they cut fat like anything else doesn&#8217;t.</span></p>
<p>Cruciferous vegetables also contain glucosinolates, which give them their characteristic spicy or better taste. When the cell wall of these vegetables are broken by blending, chopping, or chewing they release an enzyme called Myrosinase which converts Glucosinolates into several cancer fighting substances, but the one we want to talk to you about is Indole 3-carbinol which is an anti-estrogen.</p>
<p><strong>What does this have to do with the ability to lose stomach fat?</strong></p>
<p>Glad you asked. Everyday we are bombarded with toxic chemicals in our environment that cause us to have hormonal imbalances, in particular excessive amounts of estrogen also known as <strong>“Estrogen Dominance”</strong> which is the leading cause of fat gain around the stomach, hips and thighs. Estrogen Dominance is responsible for a host of illnesses:</p>

<p>They are best eaten raw or lightly steamed and the more you chew or chop them the more of the enzyme is released. Mix them up, but 1-2 different kinds everyday. The more you cook them, they lose the cancer fighting and anti-estrogen properties they have and the more bitter they will taste. This is one of the reasons why green food smoothies are so good. Some people can eat the kale raw and don’t even salt it.</p>
