Golgappe!

No matter what I do, and why I do it, this reason to life will never fade away.

No matter what city I go or work in, I have to have Golgappe 5 times a week! Do you feel the same too? If yes, then we are riding on the spicy boat 😉

And guess what is the high point in a Golgappa story? They are available in almost every city you go to! Wherever you are in the country, you will get them. Maybe with a different name, with a different appeal, and prepared with slightly different technique with minor variations due to the local tastes, these yummilicious treats are heaven, residing in all the cities.

Let’s have a look at the names and forms of Golgappe as they are available n these 8 cities. Along with some of the most famous GolGappa Joints in those cities who take pride in serving Golgappas!

1. Amchi Mumbai’s Pani Puri Chatkaaredaar

No match for Mumbai Pani Puri, as it is lovingly christened in the city of Marathas. There is a unique flavour to pani puri here, which probably is due to the presence of usual salt in the sea laced air. Yes, some joints are famous for using Bisleri water for their pani puri, so those who are high on hygiene quotient, can have as much as they want, without getting worried of the bacteria.

The churn out the world class fashion that trailblaze.

The newest fashion trends stem from Paris only and the rest of the world follows in blindfolds. This got us thinking what if India too had a fashion capital? What would it be? And we were left with only one answer, in view of the lifestyle standards and fondness for fashion, Mumbai rightfully qualifies as the Fashion Capital of India. It is house to the world class brands and their flagship stores, hence Mumbai is a shopper’s paradise too. Let’s shed some more light into the fashion scene in Mumbai to validate our point:

Bollywood is in Mumbai:

Bollywood or Hindi film industry is in mumbai which makes for the predominant reason why we would term Mumbai as the fashion capital of India. Glamour and fashion is connected to Bollywood with an umbilical chord hence Mumbai undoubtedly is the fashion capital of India.

The best fashion shows are held in Mumbai:

The top most Indian designers such as Manish Malhotra, Tarun Tahliani, Nita Lulla, Falguni shane Peacock, Sabyasachi have their flagship store in Mumbai. Also, the famous fashion shows like Amazon India Fashion Week, Lakme India Fashion Week etc are held in Mumbai. That aside, the famous fashion models reside in Mumbai which pretty much sums up The reason why Mumbai is the fashion capital of India.

Mumbai has better economic standard than other cities in india:

Mumbai is the commercial hub of India whose economy is pretty strong as compared to other cities in India. It is said that this city never sleeps and a recent survey proved that Mumbai’s living standard is of the same stature as other high-brow cities of the world which means the people have a lot of money to spare in clothes and fashion. Needless to say, they do.

The best brands are launched in Mumbai first:

Mumbai and Delhi are in loggerheads about which wear the badge of Fashion capital proudly but Mumbai leaves Delhi behind by many means. However, it is still hypothetical because Mumbai is called the ‘summer fashion capital’ of India whilst Delhi is knows as the ‘Winter fashion capital of India’. Nonetheless, the best brands and their stores are launched in Mumbai first and people are vehemently aware of the nuances of leading fashion.

Mumbai is thick with high profile celebrity crowd and on the merits of its fashion quotient, it makes other cities go weak on the knees. You may argue that Delhi or Chandigarh too qualify to be called the fashion capital but you will see people flaunting priciest brands in Mumbai only as compared to other cities in competition.

Once Salman Rushdie said- You can take the boy out of Bombay; you cannot take the Bombay out of the Boy, you know. We cannot imagine our lives without it if your ever lived here as this city is an experience and not just a place.

To make other readers realize how we have some snapshots as pictures say thousands of words so let’s take a look at pictures that have precisely caught the spirit of the city.

1. Mumbai locals are life line of this city. If this comes to halt then the whole city comes to a standstill. Thousands of thousands of travelers travel from one part of the city to another part, each having dream in their eyes to make it big, for the city is known as city of dreams. This sepia toned picture of the station is one of the best shots that captures the essence of city.

Hold your thoughts though! Girls might be same, but then there are obvious differences and if you compare girls from two of the most happening cities of the country, Mumbai girls will win hands down! Of course, there is an important factor of the social, economical and political conditions of the cities they are from; still how one adapts to surroundings and makes a difference in their life is what makes one stand out from the crowd!

We have constituted top 5 factors that clearly state that Mumbai girls are far far ahead.

Check it out guys Why Mumbai Girls are Better Than Delhi Girls!

1) Beauty

Well, beauty is nature’s given, but what you do with beauty is what makes the difference. Girls in Delhi might have been blessed more, but the way Mumbai girls present themselves, the way they carry themselves just makes them the winners! Blame it on Bollywood for that extra style quotient, but the fact is girls in the economic capital of the country are more attractive than their northern counterparts.

2) Independent

Girls in Mumbai are used to travelling alone from a very early age. Travelling in local trains and buses gives them a kind of independence that is not found in Delhi girls. Also in Delhi, the kids are over-pampered so girls grow up being overly protected. Mumbai girls travel alone, any time of the day and night, thanks to a more or less safe and secure public life making them more courageous and strong as well.

3) Culturally Advanced

North India and Delhi specifically is known for having strong cultural roots to the extent of being on the borderline of being orthodox and narrow-minded. Mumbai, on the other hand, boasts of a cultural mix of who’s who not only from within the country, but also from people of different nationalities. This gives the girls a good exposure to different point of views and makes them think from a broader perspective.

4) Accommodating

People in Mumbai are used to living in cramped houses and travelling in inhuman conditions compared to Delhi, where most of the population enjoys sprawling wide roads and live in palatial houses due to easy availability of land and space. This makes an impact on Mumbai girls as they easily adjust in any and every situation without any trace of stress or discomfort!

5) Don’t Show-off!

Girls everywhere are into show-offs, always boasting about their latest jewellery or expensive make-up. Mumbai girls, on the other hand, let others do the talking rather than playing their own trumpet 24X7! Yes, they would discuss their achievements and possessions, but unlike Delhi girls who need a reason to boast and sometimes create excuses to boast something as insignificant as a manicure!

There can be many more points of comparisons and some of you might not agree with what we are saying here, but this is what it is! If you don’t agree, give us reasons to believe you.

For now, Mumbai girls rock!

I am sure this is going to bring a clear sense of understanding and some inspiration to get up and start walking.

“I’ve grown up in a red light area, surrounded by the flesh trade all my life.

At 12, I’ve been asked for my ‘rate’ and cried myself to sleep because I didn’t understand it.

But you want to know what’s worse?

It’s that the men who came to ask would all be from the ‘upper class’ as you call it with shiny cars and the perception that they could ‘buy’ anything. But the women there, are my family…they’ve taken care of me when my mother would have to go work at a factory nearby and treated with me so much love and kindness, but I still grew up with a very low self esteem because of my dark colour.

I don’t know why you have to be fair to be beautiful…and because I’m dark I’ve always been called ugly. Once my 12th standard ended, I decided to make a change. I told the people at my Municipal school that I wanted to study, learn English and make something of myself.

That’s when I went to an organization called Kranti.

I spent the next year, travelling across India conducting workshops on sex education, and that’s when I realized that not everyone judges me for my background and kind of got my self esteem back.

I’ve always been a day dreamer, so I randomly just said it out loud one day that I want to go America (at that point I didn’t even know if it was a continent, a city or a country) and through Kranti’s efforts I got a full scholarship at Bard College to study Liberal Arts. We crowd sourced the rest of the money for my accomodation and day to day expenses and my life has just turned around…I’ve been to semester at Sea, I speak fluent English and have amazing entrepreneurial ideas to make a difference to my home…to Kamathipura.

Yes, open your mind about my home. Accept that people have choices and know that so many women there are in it by choice…because it’s their source of livelihood. As Indians, we need to judge less and accept things that are not always in our comfort zone, because my background is not my weakness…

I’m me, and no location can define who I am.”

Don’t we all shackle ourselves in the false limitations of our circumstances and situations?

Don’t we know that we can be what we want to be, only if we start taking few steps forward?

Don’t we just keep doing nothing and blame the situations and outer factors for our own failures?

Well, this story makes me believe all that and much more!!
