Investing and starting a business with pocket money at the initial stage was not easy. Palak Dhand, a 22-year-old who has recently completed her MBA immediately started her business. At the end of 2020, November, MBA entrepreneur was into her startup launching Snack & Co. Her company is able to sell about 2000 products within four months that has a turnover Rs. 80,000.

Her interest to become an entrepreneur has led her to begin her career. But she was all set to move to Lancaster University, the UK for her further studies. Somewhere it was due to the pandemic that she was able to go nowhere. It was a kind of blessing for Palak that she was able to begin her career the way she wanted.

Hardships as an MBA entrepreneur

Palak a 22-year-old girl having the interest to start a business was not enough. As convincing vendors apart from being a startup company was difficult. Being a young girl hardly did anyone was taking her seriously. This was slowly putting her into doubt that if she was at the right age to take the initiative to be in the healthy snacks business.

Other hardships as a newcomer in the industry were the ideas relating to the execution of business. The main parts of her challenges were the lack of knowledge regarding technicalities. The e-commerce procedures were difficult for her to tackle. As she said that for any kind of issues calling the IT team was to be necessary. Now her products are sold on the e-commerce platform and is working with the vendors selling her healthy snacks.

Products and uniqueness

Her starting investment was Rs. 1 lakh which was her pocket money. This is whatever she saved during her college times. Spending money for the startup was easy but earning back the principle took place after it selling 200 products. Though, the initial days were difficult to assume about the future of the snacks business. Later the business flourished within few months which was a responsive success to Palak Dhand.

Snacks that are strictly prepared under the supervision and guidance of the MBA entrepreneur are not just healthy but unique. Consulting with the vendors and working closely to the quality and taste of the snacks is her first contribution. This has enabled the business to run and progress with monthly returns of 80,000.

She loves to cook and this is another reason that the food industry was one of the closest fields of motivation. Working in social media and staying connected to her customer is through her Youtube channel. The Blend with Palak, where she shares her recipes of different types that are her unique cooking creations.

There are wide ranges of products for the kids to the adults who have different preferences and tastes. Her distribution to the business is one-handed; she takes care of not only the unique quality products but also about the sales and finances. Marketing and distribution or delivery of the products, all are under her supervision.

Affording space cannot be possible when there is almost no money. Pankaj decides to start his business from nowhere in his small nano car.

The owner of Khapde’s has been one of the top chefs working in Hyatt and the Irish House. His experience and hard work did not let him down even after the hard times. When the restaurant is closed and no earnings are from their occupation.

He rediscovered his desire to work and get back to his occupation. Now he prepares the special edition of the Malvani food and sells food to earn lacs in Nano car. Pankaj has been working as a chef for twenty years, it is the dedication to his work that he was able to get back his place.

Experience and proper determination gives the goal

The restaurant was three years old and had the best customers for their food. Traditional food and customized food edition were popular that attracted foodies. A large queue awaited outside, to about 40 to 60 people to savor the Malvani food style. But it is the curse of the pandemic that it is no longer running after 2020.

Both Pankaj and his wife are working together as before to restart their journey. It has been few months that they have started and the earnings are no less than one lac per month.

Old Grandma at the age of 92 years has proven that age is just a number. A duo of grandma and granddaughter has slowly begun with a startup business dealing with spices. Blending of spices that have won the heart of several customers. Preparing spices from home, Amritsar with the assistance of her granddaughter both is progressing for their distinctive handmade blending of spices for starting from tea preparation.

Grandma is now an entrepreneur at the age above 90 is now leading as an entrepreneur was married at the age of 18. It was in 1948 after Independence she starts living in Amritsar with her husband. Life was not at all liberal, at her time. She did not even realize whom she is marrying between the elder and younger brother.

Masala chai by Ammi-ji

According to her, nothing was to her satisfaction while making her kind of masala tea. After giving trials on masala for the chai it was after almost 72 years that she found her experiment to be successful. The journey to reach her blends of masala for her exclusive chai wasn’t easy. She wanted to revive the flavor of Ammi-Ji’s mother tea. But nothing was working to hold that level of uniqueness.

Every time a new combination of the spices was used to discover the same old flavor. But it was difficult for her, but as the experiment continued she came up with an amazing blend. Not similar to her mother’s recipe but it acted as magic to change the flavor of her tea.

Slowly as a tea lover, she carried it with her where ever she went. Offering her rare and tasty blend masala was enjoyed by consumers.

Being a part of a family her granddaughter and daughter in law have always cherished the savory. Almost 100 of her blended masala chai packages were sold.

Life changed after promotion in Facebook

Nothing is easy in life! But a bit of interest and patience can develop a great opportunity realizing from the grandma’s story of becoming an entrepreneur. The time begins with a new edition when the promotion of Ammiji’s masala chai was on social media. Amrita her granddaughter took her special brand of masala chai to Facebook. Then and thereby, the business begins to progress from 2015. When few more hundreds of jars were sold to her customers. Her distinctive and magical blend for the tea was brand after 2018.

Her brand was sold online after 2018, it was a mega start for the 92-year-old entrepreneur. Now sells Wadiya and papad that are also in great demand. The business that started with the masala chai now has 40 products on its list.

The increase in their products is for last two years which has pulled up to deal with so many starts from just one.
