When you tell them to keep down the rants and tell them the evident – them being drunk – they accuse you instead.

Friday evenings are exciting for most single men in India.

No, not because Saturday is holiday. Remember, most offices today work on Saturdays, too.

They cheerfully take the train to commute to their destination. Unlike other days, they would smile and take time to interact with the other travellers. “No harm, no foul. It’s Saturday and I’m happy.”

Interaction with colleagues at office is of high intensity as well. They plan whether they want to hang out after office. If not, they would call their best friend, in search of companionship….well, basically to rid the loneliness.

Saturdays, though half day, are high pressure, for the targets do not go down substantially and the duration is less than from Monday to Friday. The typing speed of the keyboard is faster than ever.

The friend responds, “Sorry. Can’t meet. Busy with exam.” Ahh…shit!

Some of them decide to visit Marine Drive alone. If you are one of the regulars to this destination, you will definitely see many singles wandering alone with no idea what’s going on with their life.

Time to go home. Taking a train from Churchgate appears to be a daunting task. Even though they have starting trains, the crowds gather like at a war scene. And believe me, getting into a train on a Saturday evening is no less than a war.

“What shall I do? No friends to hang out with.” This is when sitcoms and movies turn out to be a man’s best friend.

It is no secret that Andaz Apna Apna has developed into a cult movie in India. However, did you know that it was a box office flop when it released in 1994?

Yes, the film suffered monetary setback and is considered an average grosser.

The movie gave us numerous memories to cherish over the years. From Salman Khan and Aamir Khan’s camaraderie to Shakti Kapoor’s dialogues as Crime Master Gogo and Paresh Rawal’s double role, the entire film had us in splits.

Though the movie was a box office disaster, it was received well by the critics and the audience alike. The reason behind the movie’s failure was seen as it being way ahead of its time.

So, do you think that the movie would have thrived had it been released in the modern era? We personally believe that the movie would have tanked in terms of critical reception, but would have been a box office success.

The Movie Would Not Feature Salman or Aamir

Salman and Aamir were the lead actors in the film. They had their difference, as both actors needed more screen space than the other. Eventually, they agreed on the same amount of screen space. With too many hits behind them since 1994, the two actors are big enough appear together on same screen, regardless of their friendship. Egos are bound to clash.

Other Cast Members Would Cease to Exist on Screen Too

Another surprising fact about the film is that none of the lead actors were on talking terms with one another. Even the female stars Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon had their share of difference. They would definitely not want to appear on screen together again. Shakti Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Viju Khote and Shehzad Khan, who played Crime Master Gogo, Shyam Gopal Bajaj/Ram Gopal Bajaj, Robert and Vinod Bhalla, respectively, would not appear together either. These actors justified their respective roles. It would be tough to imagine any current actor stepping into their shoes.

The Director Would Be Different

In all honesty, Rajkumar Santoshi did a great job keeping a bunch of angry actors together till the film’s production ended. However, he has not been making movies frequently which would mean bringing in a new director. Chances are good that David Dhawan would want to be in on this project. He is one of the best directors when it comes to comedy and is renowned for working with Govinda on a number of projects.

The Main Cast Would Be Current Actors

With Salman, Aamir, Karisma and Raveena out, the modern day Andaz Apna Apna would require a young cast. With David Dhawan as the director, Varun Dhawan might get to play one of the lead roles; Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor might compete for the role, too. Of course, Alia Bhatt would not be far behind either. Ranbir Kapoor or Imran Khan might take up the next actor’s spot with Deepika Padukone closing the auditions with her performance approval.

The Movie Would Tank Because…

The story would be different obviously. It would also include an item number (or two more), which would be one of the primary factors for the movie making good revenue. The modern day screenplay in Bollywood has gone for a toss, when it comes to high budget movies. On the other hand, low budget movies make more sense, but do not earn much. This movie would be a big budget film and suffer the same fate as other movies such as Happy New Year or Kick. They had no material whatsoever, but were in the one hundred crore club. Though movie critics like Taran Adarsh would commend the movie, it would suck genuinely.

When her comments led to people burning effigies in her state of Andhra Pradesh, Mirza decided to provide clarification and quoted, “I would like to clearly say on record that I could not possibly justify premarital sex, as it is a very big sin in Islam and one which I believe will not be forgiven by Allah.”

This intruder finds it the hard way. RCB Insider’s Danish Sait dons the role of the intruder in this hilarious video where he approaches Royal Challengers Bangalore captain, who is clearly surprised at having an uninvited visitor in the middle of a shoot.

Sait walks in as Mr. Nags (leaving everyone wondering who the intruder might be), as he looks for the director. Eventually, he walks into Kohli and introduces him as a member of the shoot and asks for the script.

Kohli, clearly not amused, hands him the script and displays angry looks on more than one occasion. The director clearly understands this as being a waste of players’ time and asks the intruder to leave “promising” him a major part in a movie, but not in this ad.

Outside, he runs into Chris Gayle and Dinesh Karthik (who are minding their own business) and engages in a conversation with them. Virat finds him and asks if the players were getting disturbed. Knowing that he is an intruder, Gayle, Karthik and Kohli personally throw him out of the location.

Richie Benaud, popularly known as the “voice of cricket” has died at the age of 84. The legendary cricketer-turned-commentator was battling skin cancer.

Benaud was renowned for being one of the best all-round cricketers displaying skills in lower order batting and leg spin bowling. In first-class cricket, he amassed 945 wickets and scored over 11,000 runs at an average of 39.50.

The former Australian cricketer and captain retired in 1964 after a successful international career thereby focussing on broadcasting and journalism. The last time Benaud was heard commentating was during the 2005 Ashes series.

When it came to cricket commentary, many individuals in the commentary box looked up to him for not only the fashion in which he delivered updates, but also his witty puns. One of his popular witticisms included Glenn McGrath, when the Australian tail ender got out for two runs, “And Glenn McGrath dismissed for two, just ninety-eight runs short of his century”.

The news of Richie’s death led to tributes flooding on different social media platforms. He had an inspiring career and was glorious when it came to mic skills.

The story of Benaud becoming a true Test cricketer begins in Australia’s 1957 tour of South Africa. The following year, he was handed the team’s reins, which was a massive achievement in his personal career.

The person who was responsible for teaching leg spin to Benaud was his father. Richie went on to master the art of traditional leg spin bowling and added other weapons like the flipper, googly and top spinner to his arsenal.

Since making his international debut for Australia in 1952, Benaud was part of 63 Test matches (28 of which he captained). As captain, he won five out of the seven Test series taking Australia to the top of world cricket in the process.

Another hilarious character that won the hearts of many Indians was that of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte that Rawal portrayed in Hera Pheri. Be it his transition to Marathi accent or the indulgence in lunacy, he infused organic comedy to not just the character, but the film overall, winning him the best comedian award at Star Screen Awards, IIFA and Filmfare.

Narendra Modi and Paresh Rawal do have a few similarities – for instance, they are both Gujaratis, politicians and belong to the same party.

Looking at the actor’s history, it can be said that he is the only actor in Bollywood, who could have landed this role. But can he do justice to the character? Yes, he can.
