<p>There are different chapters in your <a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/campus/college-hacks/59548">student life</a> as well. You study in college, sail through college and then, finally start working. Reunions are a good way to reconnect with friends whom you lost touch with or have not met for a very long time. College years are the best years of your life.</p>
<p>Though you can never fully relive them, you can at least reminisce about them with yourold friends when you meet them in reunions.</p>
<p>Here are 5 reasons why college reunions are an important ritual.</p>
<p><strong>College reunions</strong></p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Revisiting old memories</strong></li>
</ol>
<p>All of us like to have a dose of nostalgia once in a while. Talking about the glorious das of college, teasing each other bot crushes and remembering how you dealt with some difficult situations with the help of your friends, all these things happen in a reunion. When you meet your old friends, all the old memories keep flashing back at you and you get just the right people to discuss them with. You might also come some interesting and surprising fact which you had no inkling of earlier.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-63325" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/revisitoldmemories.jpg" alt="College reunions" width="600" height="480" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/revisitoldmemories.jpg 600w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/revisitoldmemories-500x400.jpg 500w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<ol start="2">
<li><strong>Meeting your crush</strong></li>
</ol>
<p>While you have moved ahead in life and are now married, meting somebody you had a crush in after severalyears invokes a bitter sweetfeeling that cannot be expressed in words. Even if you do not want to or are not comfortable with the idea of talking to them,  just seeing them after a very long time would be a very interesting experience.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-63323" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/meetingyourcrush.jpg" alt="College reunions" width="600" height="375" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/meetingyourcrush.jpg 600w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/meetingyourcrush-95x60.jpg 95w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<ol start="3">
<li><strong>Makes friendship stronger</strong></li>
</ol>
<p>Even if you have been touch with your college friends on phone and e-mails, the joy and importance of a personal meeting cannot be replaced by any other medium you connect them through. It is important to meet your friends from time to time to strengthen your bond with them. You might think about skipping the reunion as it will necessitate you travelling to another city and spending time, energy and money but you must important toattendreunions.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-63322" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/makesfriendshipstronger.jpg" alt="College reunions" width="600" height="438" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/makesfriendshipstronger.jpg 600w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/makesfriendshipstronger-548x400.jpg 548w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<ol start="4">
<li><strong>Set things right</strong></li>
</ol>
<p>While college life isfull of good memories, there are certain bad incidents that happen along the way too. As a young adult, you get into fights, hurt people, break hearts and do a lot of things you are not proud of. When you meet somebody, you had caused harm or hurt to when you were in college, after several years in reunion you have the chance to set things and develop a better equation with the one who you were not close to in college.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-63326" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/setthingsright.jpg" alt="College reunions" width="600" height="399" /></p>
<ol start="5">
<li><strong>Make more memories</strong></li>
</ol>
<p>If you thought you made all the good memories with your friends incollege, then you must know that reunions are also a good opportunity to recreate thosememories an even create some new ones. A reunion does not necessarily has to be a one-evening event. You could go on a road trip or on a short holiday with your friends. That will give you more time to bond and also bring some of the joie de vivre that one associated with college life.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-63321" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/makemorememories.jpg" alt="College reunions" width="600" height="360" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/makemorememories.jpg 600w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/makemorememories-250x150.jpg 250w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/makemorememories-400x240.jpg 400w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>College reunions &#8211; Reunions should be observed as a ritual and not an one-off thing. If you are planning to host reunions, you must make sure that you do it every year without fail. Such events make sense only if they are done sincerely at regular periodic intervals.</p>
<p>So, go an relive those wonderful memories you made with your friend through reunions.</p>

He is one of the prominent Hindu deities who is a significant part of the holy trinity, <em>Trimurti </em>, Brahma, Vishnu, Maheshwar.</p>
<p>The highest form of Shiva is formless, limitless, and transcendental and the undisputed Brahman. Shiva is offered water, milk, dhatura, bhaang, akwan flowers to Shiva’s idol or Shivalinga to offer one’s prayers. Unmarried girls worship Lord Shiva in pursuit of getting a husband like him. Shivratri is celebrated during Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha in Phagun, happens to be the Hindu lunar month.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-62551" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/1-38-373x400.jpg" alt="" width="373" height="400" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/1-38-373x400.jpg 373w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/1-38.jpg 482w" sizes="(max-width: 373px) 100vw, 373px" /></p>
<p>Every day in the Hindu calendar has deep significance and a story tailored to each of them. However, they may vary from different communities and regions. Here is the most circulated story of Maha Shivratri.</p>
<p><strong>Know the reason why Shivratri is celebrated:</strong></p>
<p>As per the legend of Shiva Purana, two mighty Gods like Brahma and Vishnu were at loggerheads and descended into hand-to-hand fight to prove who is better than whom, seeing the predicament, Brahma asked Shiva to intervene and he turned himself into a huge column of fire to make them realise the fight was pointless. The fire column looked so enormous that Brahma and Vishnu decided to find the topmost end of it. Brahma took the form of a swan and flew upwards while Vishnu became Varaha and dug inside Earth but to no avail, no end of the fire column was traced down.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-62552" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/2-39-400x400.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="400" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/2-39-400x400.jpg 400w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/2-39-600x600.jpg 600w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/2-39.jpg 640w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p>So, during his journey upwards Brahma met with Ketaki flower floating down slowly. Upon asking where she came from, the flower said she was offered at the top of the fire column. So, Brahma put an end to his search and took the flower for witness. This infuriated Shiva and he cursed him that he will enjoy the offerings from any devotee ever again. So, He is not worshipped by Hindus except there is only one temple, Pushkar temple located in Rajasthan that is dedicated to him. The Ketaki flower too was banished from being offered to any gods for worship. As Shiva tamed down the fight among Gods, the day is celebrated in his honor.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-62553" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/3-40-660x371.jpg" alt="" width="660" height="371" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/3-40-660x371.jpg 660w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/3-40-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/3-40-1000x563.jpg 1000w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/3-40.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px" /></p>
<p>It is also believed in many North Indian states that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati was wedded in this day hence the day carries a special significance and Shiva is worshipped in this particular day. Also, according to another legend, Shiva performs his heavenly dance of creation in the Mahashivratri night and the devotees come in this cosmic consciousness by chanting hymns and reading Shiva scriptures.</p>
<p>Maha Shivratri story &#8211; The notable temples like Konark, <a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/opinions/7-reasons-why-sex-should-not-be-taboo-in-india/39990">Khajuraho</a>, Pattadakal, Modhera and Chidambaram temples celebrate Shivratri magnanimously.</p>

<p>This year the theme for the Social Week was gender equality, a much talked about social issue! Renaissance of Equality, the Social Week title, was graced by numerous celebrities.</p>
<p>With the Old Canteen area of the college decorated beautifully, the first day was inaugurated by our Principal Ms. Amee Vora. Kunwar Amarjeet Singh, a famous dancer, was present on the first day. He supported the cause and gave an inspirational speech on gender equality!</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016-41.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-39605" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016-41.jpg" alt="drishti-2016-4" width="600" height="400" /></a></p>
<p>The second day was a blast with Sonnalli Seygall, popular for her movie ‘Pyaar ka Panchnama’, in the morning. In the evening the entire Drishti team was at Marine Lines for a mind blowing Flash Mob which conquered the entire locality, in not less than 6 minutes!</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016-2.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-39604" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016-2.jpg" alt="drishti-2016-4" width="600" height="400" /></a></p>
<p>On the third day, two very influential celebrities, Rithvik Dhanjani and Evelyn Sharma, graced the event. Rithvik Dhanjani rocked the dance floor with two of the members from our dance crew. ‘Seams for Dreams’, which was pioneered by Evelyn Sharma was also promoted by Drishti with a stall that sold merchandise of ‘Seams of Dreams’.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016-1.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-39601" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016-1-600x600.jpg" alt="drishti-2016-1" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016-1-600x600.jpg 600w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016-1-400x400.jpg 400w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016-1.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>With Saroj Khan, the famous choreographer, the fourth day was upbeat to a whole new level of awesomeness! She said that she will support them in all their endeavors!  Also, the Creatives team of Drishti and Project M.A.D. created graffiti on gender equality near the Vile Parle Station!</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016-3.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-39606 size-large" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016-3-600x600.jpg" alt="drishti-2016-3" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016-3-600x600.jpg 600w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016-3-400x400.jpg 400w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016-3.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>Saving the best for the last, on the fifth day of Renaissance of Equality they had Pooja Ruparel in the house! Famous for her work in the movie ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge’, she actively indulged in all stalls and walls put up.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-39599" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016.jpg" alt="drishti-2016" width="600" height="338" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016.jpg 720w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/drishti-2016-660x371.jpg 660w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>To end the Social Week with a bang, they had gobo lights which beamed ‘Drishti’ in the Old Canteen area of NM College! It was a sight which took everyone down the memory lane of the enormous Social Week that they had this year!</p>
