In Uttar Pradesh, the voting has been done for the Assembly elections held in 2017.

This time, the Uttar Pradesh elections have been the most interesting ones as compared to the last five elections. While travelling around Uttar Pradesh, we came to know, that this time people have voted on the basis of development and not caste. Due to the ban on notes and cash crunch last year, the election gurus felt that BJP was going to lose, but the public exceptionally supported the entire demonetization process by considering that it as a correct move. Many people revealed that due to this very demonetization, Rahul Gandhi too was seen standing in the line outside the bank.

This time, in Uttar Pradesh, the biggest factor of this year’s assembly elections is the youth. Most exit polls are prepared by ignoring the youth, while this time; in the north-east of Uttar Pradesh, it has been observed that the youth’s votes have been counted as they want to bring a massive change in the future and make it bright.

As I mentioned earlier that Youngisthan has travelled around UP, and that’s why based on that we came to know, that this time the uttar pradesh exit poll is going to be the most accurate one, because we have taken opinions of people from their homes. By not running any survey on mobile or internet, Youngisthan has dug the ground in all the seven places of the elections.

So, let’s take a look at Youngisthan’s biggest uttar pradesh exit poll, and know which party’s fortune is going to shine in the Uttar Pradesh elections.

Uttar Pradesh exit poll –

Narendra Modi has done an amazing job for the BJP.

According to Youngisthan’s biggest uttar pradesh exit poll of the BJP, in the year 2017, the BJP government is entirely forming Uttar Pradesh. Undoubtedly, BJP had lagged behind in the first phase of elections, but BJP’s performance in the second, third; fourth, sixth and seventh phase of election will be a wonderful one. In the elections of the seven phases, BJP’s development and Narendra Modi have been dominating the most. The people of Uttar Pradesh have already trusted Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav for some time now, but this time based on the recorded votes, the people of state want BJP to win.

According to the ground survey by Youngisthan, this time BJP will get around 274 seats.

The way Prime Minister Modi has campaigned in the last phase of the election, it can be said that he has done an amazing job. Many intellectuals have voted BJP because they think that at this time BJP can work on issues like development. BJP’s ideology is in development, whereas the rest of the parties are fighting only to keep themselves alive. There are many people in Lucknow who reveal that they have to play the drama of voting Samajwadi party. People of SP tend to scare others, but this time the people of Lucknow have supported Modi fearlessly.

Of the total assembly seats in the state, BJP is getting more than half of the seats. Based on the figure of 274 seats, Modi is going to set a unique record.

ON 11TH MARCH, IN UTTAR PRADESH, THE LOTUS IS CERTAINLY GOING TO BLOSSOM.

SP and Congress’ coalition will be broken.

The way both Akhilesh and Rahul Gandhi fought the entire election by partnership; there will be no benefit for both the parties. The position of SP was strong in the first phase of elections, but due to the lack of leadership everything failed.

The Samajwadi Party, which was seen getting the figure of 200 seats till some time before the election, but due to the family discord and the Congress, the coalition seems to be getting only 68 seats. If Akhilesh Yadav would’ve decided not to join Rahul Gandhi, then the position might have been better. Now, the trust of public has been entirely escaped from the SP. Honestly, Congress was not really fighting in the elections, it was just present to play with SP’s future in the state.

It’s really tough for the Elephant to survive now

Also, the exit poll of Youngisthan is telling that the name of the Bahujan Samajwadi Party is not being taken with pride anywhere in Uttar Pradesh. The ground reality is that Mayawati’s political career will be seen ending once the elections are over. When we went to those areas of Uttar Pradesh where the Dalit vote bank of the state is 20 to 24 percent, it was seen that there was a place in the hearts of the people for Mayawati. But the youngsters living in these places were also seen supporting Modi.

Now the most accurate and biggest uttar pradesh exit poll in Youngisthan is telling that the BSP will get some 35 seats in this assembly election. These seats are surely going to make Mayawati cry on the day of March 11. For Mayawati, it is being said that she has not been able to make proper speeches till date, and in such a situation, it is impossible for her to work on the developments in UP.

At the end, let us tell you that out of the total 403 seats of the Uttar Pradesh assembly, the others will get around 26 seats. Therefore, these seats of others will be better than the Congress.

In Youngisthan’s next survey, we are going to tell you which BJP leader will be considered as the Chief Minister by the Janta.

Are you excited?!

But the Bhartiya Janata Party has already taken a good lead in both the states.

The trends currently show that BJP is leading in Haryana on 46 seats, while INLD is leading on 17, Congress 11, HJCBL two, and others on one. In Maharashtra, BJP is leading with 77 seats, while the Shiv Sena and NCP have acquired 43 and 29 seats respectively.

In Haryana, it seems to be an easy and clear win for BJP but Maharshtra may come a tad tough for it.

The four cornered fight in Maharashtra was bound to make it difficult. However, the BJP has clearly succeeded in showing Shiv Sena that it is capable of doing things on its own and it is no second fiddle material.

With Shiv Sena reportedly cosying up to BJP right after elections, one cannot deny the possibility of a post poll alliance working in place. However, going with NCP is a strict no for the party.

Currently, the Congress and NCP must be feeling terrible for breaking the alliance and souring the relations.

But the early Diwali celebrations have started at BJP headquarters in Delhi as the arch-rival Congress stares at its worst defeat in the elections.

They are the mavericks who rightly predicted BJP’s win with a clear majority in the Lok Sabha elections.

This time, Chanakya has given the BJP a clear majority of 52 seats in Haryana and 151 in Maharashtra.

It should be noted that the magical number in Maharashtra is 144 and in Haryana it is

Reportedly, for Haryana, the IndiaTV-C Voter poll tracker released last week predicted that the BJP will emerge as the single largest party with 33 seats. The poll tracker puts former CM of the state Om Prakash Chautala’s INLD at the second place with 28 seats, while the Congress is pegged at third to win only 16 of the 90 seats.

However, the survey states that the alliance of Haryana Janhit Congress-Haryana Jan Chetna Party may win about 9 seats.

Another survey conducted by Nielsen for ABP News, has predicted that the BJP will win 36 of the 90 setas, while the INLD could walk away with 33. The Congress is expected to win only 15 of the seats, while the HJC and Independents will win about three seats each, according to Nielson.

Interestingly, all the projections in Haryana showed current CM Bhupinder Singh Hoods as the most preferred leader of the state.

BJP’s Abhimanyu Singh came second in this projection followed by Rao Inderjeet Singh.

When exit polls started yesterday at 5 PM, Today’s Chanakya projected clear majority for BJP in Haryana, giving it 52 of the 90 seats. INLD comes second with 23 seats, Congress 10 and others 5.

It should be noted that in the outgoing Assembly, Congress had 40 seats, BJP had only four, INLD 31 and HJC 6. Others had 9.

Exit poll by C-Voter projected 37 seats for BJP in Haryana, 28 for INLD, 15 for Congress, 6 for Haryana Janhit Congress and 4 for others. AC-Nielson gave 46 to BJP, Congress 10, INLD 29, HJC two and others three.

If Chanakya and other polls are right, BJP will be forming the government in Haryana for the first time ever. PM Modi campaigned extensively in the state, addressing 11 rallies.

The party is also expectedto do extremely well in Maharashtra election. In the outgoing assembly, BJP had 47 seats while Shiv Sena had 45. Congress had 82 seats, NCP 62 and MNS had 12.

Now, ABP Nielsen has predicted the following seats for Maharashtra:

BJP–127, Sena–77, Congress-40, NCP-34, MNS-5, others-5

Times Now – C-voter has predicted as following:

BJP 129 seats, Shiv Sena 56, Congress 43, NCP 36 seats, and 12 apiece for the MNS and Others.

India news-Axis has made the following projection:

BJP:103; Sena: 88; Cong 45; NCP: 35 and MNS 3

Even if the predictions by Chanakya are incorrect, which is unlikely to happen given its record, the BJP wil reach out to smaller parties and form the government by touching the magical numbers. Not to mention, the doors for Shiv Sena are still open in the party headquarters but ths time they will have to abide by Modi’s rules.

The polls are predicting one thing which every opposition part discards: There is a Modi wave, and it is working quite well.

For the 288 member Maharashtra assembly, polling percentage crossed the mark of 40 in the evening. In Haryana, voting reached a healthy 61 percent by 4 PM, although the state had a very slow start in the morning which stood at 7 percent.

Reportedly, Among the early voters were former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, who cast his vote in Karad in western Maharashtra. State BJP president Devendra Fadnavis, a front runner for chief ministerial post if BJP comes to power, also cast his vote in Nagpur.

Bollywood celebrities who went to polling booths in Mumbai were actress Rekha, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Amol Palekar and Atul Kulkarni among others. Cricket’s master blaster Sachin Tendulkar also cast his vote urging citizens to come out and vote.

Among corporate honchos, those who cast their vote included HDFC Chairman Deepak Parekh, Reliance Group chief Anil Ambani, TCS MD and CEO N Chandrasekaran, Godrej group Chairman Adi Godrej and HCC chairman Ajit Gulabchand among others.

Actor Salman Khan who voted in Mumbai showed his disappointment for the low turnout in the city and urged the voters to ‘get inked’. Reportedly, the actor addressed his fans and said: “Instead of coming out and voting, people prefer to relax at home or rather go out for picnics outside the city.”

Other Bollywood celebs, including Rekha, too urged the voters to vote in the elections.

Around 4,119 candidates are in the electoral fray in Maharashtra, including to 276 women in the state with 8.35 crore voters eligible to exercise their right to franchise. The state has over 8 crore voters.

Haryana has 1,351 candidates in the fray, including 116 women, who are fighting for 90 assembly seats. The state has over 1.63 crore voters, including 87.37 lakh women. Interestingly, the highest number of 116 women contestants is in fray this time.

Former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda was among early voters who cooled off before voting by having a badminton session.

BJP candidate from Narnaund assembly segment Abhimanyu alleged that attempts to capture booth were made in Baas village in the constituency at the behest of rival INLD, which vehemently denied the charge. Abhimanyu told reporters in Narnaund that wires of web-casting camera were cut in Booth No 140 and attempt was made to capture booth by the ‘goondas’.

Others who cast their votes early included Haryana Ministers Randeep Singh Surjewala (Kaithal), Savitri Jindal (Hisar), Geeta Bhukkal (Jhajjar), Ajay Singh Yadav (Rewari), BJP’s Chief Ministerial aspirant Capt Abhimanyu of the BJP (Narnaund in Hisar district) and INLD’s Naina Chautala (Sirsa).

The Hindu reported faulty EVMs: “Technical problems in EVMs were reported from some polling booths in Mumbai’s Magathane constituency near Borivali and in Sewree. The technical glitches were even seen in Nagpur and Wardha district in Vidarbha. Voters in a Nashik booth also complained that the voter rolls were not in order.”

Voting will continue till 6 pm. Counting of votes is on 19 October.

The in-fight that had started some time back after Nitish had parted ways with Bhartiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance has probably reached its fate.

After winning only two seats from the state in the LS elections and losing four out of five bypoll seats at the same time, Nitish had taken a high moral ground and had resigned from the CM post. It had also come at a time when over 40 leaders of his party were ready to quit it. Nitish not only saved face but also stunned his critics which turned the situation to his side.

Now his critic within the party for quite some time, Sharad Yadav, is under his stride. On Sunday, the JD(U) MLAs unanimously chose Nitish their leader and urged him to withdraw his resignation. However, Nitish remained adamant on his position. He said that his decision was in the best interest of the party and that they should elect a new leader.

The party and MLAs have authorized him to elect their new leader in turn.

Now a delegation of MLAs along with Nitish and Yadav will meet Governor to stake claim JD(U)’s claim to form the government today. Nitish is expected to announce the name of next CM sometime tomorrow.

The assembly elections in Bihar are due in 2015. With this ‘high moral ground’ pitch in hand and a popular support surge after his ‘act’, Nitish has prepared a fertile ground for JD(U) campaigning for upcoming elections. His credentials as development man will certainly work in his favour.

And who know? Maybe Nitish will return to the throne after some time!

It is a refreshing change in the political paradigm of India.

The whole country is witnessing the blooming of the lotus.

While the dynasty-party, Congress, has been limited to two digits, that too below a half century of seats, many other parties have seen a downfall which has diminished the stature of their leaders and the governments. These states are Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.

Within minutes of the leads coming in, which gave the Bhartiya Janata Party a good head-start on over 150 seats, Assam saw the saffron surge. Its chief minister Tarun Gogoi, who is a Congress loyalist, announced on Times Now that he will resign “within a week” from his office as he had promised earlier in case he got less than seven seats in the state.

“When you win three terms as CM, some amount of arrogance and complacency sets in. This was, of course, the case with me as well as the party. We thought nobody could defeat us. We forgot that we had lost earlier. This is the first debacle since I am here. Probably there was a communication gap with the people,” he said in Guwahati.

Next in line was Bihar whose chief minister Nitish Kumar’s party JD(U) was limited to two seats in the state. Worst was their performance in the bypolls where they barely managed to clinch one out of five seats. It was mainly because of Kumar’s campaign against BJP prime minister designate Narendra Modi and his split from NDA.

Taking the high moral ground, Kumar resigned from his post on Saturday. His party’s fissures are out in open where almost 40 of its members decided to split from the party. By Sunday night, three RJD MLAs joined JD(U) and the party wanted Nitish back. All now rests with the Governor who might ask for a parade of MLAs to let the government run.

Another best was BJP’s clean sweep in Delhi. The Aam aadmi Party, whose leader Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the government within 49 days to help the party prepare for Lok Sabha elections, not only lost his seat against Modi from Varanasi, but his party lost all seven seats in Delhi. Given that the Aam Admi Party came second on all the seven seats, the BJP is said to be reluctant to give any time to the AAP to consolidate its gains or the Congress to recoup.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung is likely to come under a huge pressure to go for elections. Also, the party leaders have started to moot the idea of AAP against staking claim to government formation in the state with the help of either BJP or Congress.

Another state which was hit hard was Congress’ old bastion Haryana. Only the CM’s son and Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda could retain his seat in the election, which saw the decimation of party candidates everywhere else. CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s detractors in the party are learnt to have become active after party’s poor show in the state. It was to placate this section that Congress president had handed over the reins of the state unit to young Dalit leader Ashok Tanwar, who is close to Rahul. Hooda had been a Nehru-Gandhi family loyalist but Assembly elections in the state are barely four months away.

The utter lapse in providing flood relief in Himachal Pradesh led to Congress’ defeat. CM Virbhadra Singh had forced the Congress high command to appoint him PCC chief and give his loyalists tickets in the last Assembly polls to ensure his election as CM post-polls. Central leadership was miffed by his defiance, but went along with him because of his proven popularity in the state. Now that the BJP has swept the state and even the CM’s wife has lost election, there are enough reasons for Virbhadra to start worrying.

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and union minister in the last UPA government, Farooq Abdullah wanted those who wanted Modi to drown in the sea. With coalition partners Congress and the National Conference drawing a blank, the long-simmering tension between the two is likely to aggravate in coming weeks. For over a year, state Congress leaders have been complaining about the functioning of Omar Abdullah government, but every time they sought to escalate it to the Congress president’s level, his friendship with Rahul ensured that they beat a hasty retreat.

State Congress leaders were learnt to have told A K Antony-led sub-committee on pre-poll alliances that the Congress should go alone in the state in the Assembly polls. A section of the Congress has also been in favour of allying with the PDP, which is said to be keen on it. Ahead of the Assembly polls slated towards the year-end, the Congress is likely to turn the heat on Omar. While Rahul has always stood by him, it will be clear in coming weeks whether the Congress vice-president will continue to support him pro-actively or go with the state leadership that is not very keen on continuing the alliance.

The Congress-supported Hemant Soren government in Jharkhand and Harish Rawat government in Uttarakhand could face trouble in the wake of BJP’s spectacular victory in the states. The inclusion of old Congress loyalist Satpal Maharaj in the BJP just ahead of the LS elections has spelled trouble for the party.

Hemant Soren too is precariously placed and may need the vote of the Speaker to save his government in the event of a no-trust motion. Given that Assembly polls are slated early next year, he may find it difficult to keep his flock together.

In Maharshtra, CM Prithviraj Chavan is said to be under tremendous pressure after the Congress-NCP coalition ended up with just six out of 48 seats in the state. Rest were swept by BJP-Shiv Sena. The state is slated to go for Assembly polls towards the end of the year. While NCP won four seats, the Congress was limited to two. The NCP took no time in blaming its loss on CM Chavan’s “performance”.

They want the Congress party to re-think about the leadership in the state and may part ways with it in case of dissatisfaction from the same. Given that elections are just six months away and there are not many contenders after former Union minister Sushil Kumar Shinde’s comprehensive loss in the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress high command may not like to rock the boat at this stage notwithstanding pressures from within.

The worst hit by Modi-wave was Uttar Pradesh where only the family was able to survive with wobbling head. Out of 80 seats, SP managed to win only five in which two are SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav’s seats and one of his daughter-in-law Dimple’s. SP’s capitulation on the home turf in the LS elections is likely to force party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav to have a hard look at his son Akhilesh’s performance as CM. Akhilesh had emerged as a rallying force for the youth in the Assembly polls about two years back. But his lackadaisical performance drove them to the BJP fold as was evident from the way they thronged Narendra Modi’s rallies in the state.

There were also obvious dents in the SP’s core votebank of Yadavs and Muslims. Although the SP’s main rival, Mayawati’s BSP, was not even able to open its account in Lok Sabha elections, it had come second on 34 seats, clearly indicating that Akhilesh administration hasn’t really impressed the people. After the SP’s poor show in the general elections, Mulayam is set to come under pressure from the party’s rank and file to either himself replace Akhilesh or bring in somebody else like Shivpal Yadav.

If this Modi-wave continues, which will be clear after he takes up the work after his swearing in, the BJP will undoubtedly sweep all assembly polls. Seems the political parties have a lot more to worry now.

With over 285 seats in its bag till the latest leads, the Bhartiya Janata Party has emerged the single largest party in the country in its literal sense.

The NDA is touted to win over 330 seats and UPA a meager 60.

In other words, Narendra Modi led BJP to a historic victory while Rahul Gandhi failed to provide an able leadership to the Congress and led it to the worst defeat.

While the party swept the whole northern and central belt and made its entry into the southern India, the Congress party has been decimated to a two digit figure which won’t even let it sit on the position of leader of opposition.

It will be quite interesting to see how the dynasty survives this bitter defeat. For now, Rahul and Sonia Gandhi did not even have the courage to speak to the press after ‘accepting’ their loss and taking responsibility for the same.

In a one liner that was issued by Rahul Gandhi in front of the media he said: “I contratulate the new government and as party vice-president, I take full responsibility for the defeat.”

While BJP leaders celebrated their victory and congratulated each other, Modi took the time to meet his mother, tweet his thoughts and a selfie with his mother and also went to meet BJp leaders and BJP headquarters in Gandhinagar.

While the TV channels are still shouting in their studios as to who will form the government by presenting some credible and not so credible sources in exit-polls, people on twitter are trying to amuse themselves by imagining a ‘dream cabinet’ which shall be formed after the victory is announced.

And it is darn funny!

Several tweeples presented their ideas on who should be in the #DreamCabinet of the next government. With victory in sight, even Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan could not stop himself from sparing an idea and poking fun on the micro blogging site.

Many people were actually serious about the dream cabinet and were giving some good suggestions, but that work should be left for the political parties which will emerge victorious on May 16. Although there is a little doubt about that, but elements of surprise are always there.

But meanwhile, you could tell us who should be in your dream cabinet!

Especially in UttarPradesh, their work was exceptional. Not only they tried to understand the arithmetic of politics in the hinterlands of UP, they also tried to understand the aspirations and expectations of people there.

But, as said on Youngisthan and as various exit polls suggest too, AAP is set to lose in its old ground Delhi and in UP. In Delhi, the party is projected to win 0-3 seats but in UP, its pockets will be empty it seems.

Here are five reasons why it will happen:

Uttar Pradesh is not Delhi. The expanse of the state was the first challenge before AAP which they failed to understand as their campaigning and work started quite late. Also, its most familiar faces decided to receive the limelight rather than contest from those seats from where they could have won. Result: slim chances of seats.

UP, unlike Delhi, has less access to social media platforms due to more rural population. The IT-department of AAP, which had proved to be an asset earlier, failed miserably. There was hardly any SMS campaigning or other tech-savvy campaigning (like videos) by the party. The little reach resulted in less popular contact.

AAP indulged in the style of politics which it refrained from even talking about. Arvind Kejriwal with his team went on visiting Temples and Dargahs and taking a holy dip in Ganga. He even gave an interview saying that he was a practicing Muslim! His team members also openly asked for votes on communal lines.

What are other faces of AAP? People knew nothing about candidates except those who were famous due to their Delhi and anti-corruption stint. Why would they vote for them?

Most of the prime ministers have been given by UP. The public is quite politically sharp. Kejriwal’s 49 day government in Delhi was much hyped and constantly in headlines. It worked adversely for the party. Afterall, who would vote for a person who ran away from responsibilities?

If we remember the exit polls of Delhi, AAP was touted to win mere 5 seats but it won 28 seats and formed the government in the state. It won’t be a surprise if they win more seats than projected this time too. But UP still seems to be a distant dream for Kejriwal and his men.

Rai was seen wearing his party’s election symbol quite proudly on his lapel while voting early morning at a booth in Ramnagar of Kashi.

“I wasn’t carrying it in my hands, it was pinned on my lapel,” Rai told reporters after the BJP raised a furore and asked for an FIR to be filed against him.

He tried to plead innocence by claiming that he was ‘unaware’ of any such rule. “I wear it as a routine. When I step out of my house, I always have the symbol on my clothes. I was unaware of this rule,” he told a television channel.

I was not holding the party symbol,it is a routine to wear it on my clothes, did not flash it intentionally : Ajay Rai,Congress

— ANI (@ANI_news) May 12, 2014

Wonder what caused this temporary amnesia to Rai because just a few days back he was speaking about Modi and his white lotus selfie outside one Ahmedabad polling booth in media demanding action by the Election Commission.

Rai is also learnt to have said that ‘unlike Modi’, he was not ‘flashing’ the symbol in front of the media.

Well, unlike Modi who, according to EC, “from the substance, tone and tenor of the address” appeared that it “intended and calculated to influence and affect the result of elections in the constituencies going to polls today”, Rai may not be able to do much on the last day of the polling.

Also, the action may be an attempt to receive last-minute publicity given that the limelight in which he is basking will soon be over. In fact, he has managed to receive more wrath from the voters who stood strongly by the side of Modi on social media platforms in the similar yet different scenario.

Given an FIR has been filed against Rai and he chooses to “see what happens when it happens”, it should not be a surprise if a disqualification is awarded as a ‘face-saver’ which would be any day better than a distant third position in the central battle.

It is perhaps the most awaited and most watched phase of election as stars of the poll battle are in the fray today. A total of 18 seats are going to polls in Uttar Pradesh, 17 in West Bengal and six in Bihar.

On these 18 seats in UP, Samajwadi Party had clinched six seats from the region in last elections while BSP has five, BJP four and Congress has three seats. In West Bengal, the ruling Trinamool Congress has 14 seats, while Congress, CPI and Independent have one each of the 17 seats going to poll. Of six seats in Bihar, BJP and the ruling Janata Dal (United) have two each, while the Rashtriya Janata Dal and Independent have one each.

In the mother of all battles, in Varanasi, Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is taking on Bhartiya Janata Party prime ministerial nominee and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi. The third popular face in the ‘battle of Benaras’ is Congress’ Ajai Rai who is a ‘local’ supported by Mukhtar Ansari’s Quami Ekta Dal.

Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav’s second seat Azamgarh, besides his traditional bastion Mainpuri, is also voting today. Experts believe that unlike Mainpuri, Azamgarh may not be a cakewalk for him as he faces a tough fight from BSP’s Shah Alam alias Guddu Jamali, Rastriya Ulema Council Chief Aamir Rashadi Madani, and Mulayam’s former associate Ramakant Yadav, who is now fighting on a BJP ticket. While Mulayam is banking on his traditional Muslim-Yadav vote bank, division of Muslim votes by Madani and Guddu Jamali could benefit Ramakant.

Other prominent faces among those in the fray in today’s polling are Union Minister Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary (Behrampur- West Bengal), BJP leader Jagdambika Pal (Domariyaganj), Union Minister RPN Singh (Kushi Nagar- both UP) and former minister and RJD leader Raghuvanh Prasad Singh (Vaishali-Bihar).

The war of words has started with the beginning of voting since morning where candidates and other leaders of their party are claiming victory before results are announced on May 16.

People outpoured from every nook and corner of the city to welcome Modi. Just two days back, when Modi visited Varanasi again after he was denied permission to hold a public meeting in Beniyabagh, the city dwellers showered flowers and welcomed him again in the same strength.

A few days back, Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal too had held a roadshow to show his strength. People in white caps has engulfed the city. Now today morning, Rahul Gandhi held a roadshow for his candidate Ajai Rai and the campaign saw a massive turnout again.

While the AAP, BJP and Congress are blaming each other for bringing people from outside to display their strength, they are also claiming by the side that theirs is the real janata coming out in support.

The baffling situation stumped everyone when Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav held his road sow in Varanasi today too. And the turnout was if not more then not even less by Rahul Gandhi’s roadshow.

Now the question is, who is speaking the truth? And what does this great number present in every rally explains?

While we won’t be able to explain this complex arithmetic, few news channels have started showing in their opinion polls that Modi will get around 56 percent votes. Some are even claiming that Kejriwal and Rai will lose his deposits in the election.

On micro-blogging site twitter, tweeples have already declared Modi a wnner and the trend #NaMoWinsVaranasi is trending on top.

The result will be out on May 16, till then, everyone is free to predict and trend…

Very angry. Why wouldn’t she be? After all, dormant Bhartiya Janata Party is rising in no time in her Paschim Banga. Under the influence of perceived ‘Modi-wave’, the voters are waning from her style of politics and singing NaMo raag these days.

After her ‘paper tiger’ remark on BJP prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi, her tirade against him has become frequent. It seems she has taken the counterattack from Modi quite seriously where he had called her a sherni (lioness) glued to her chair.

Not only Modi, her sycophants of TMC are also targeting Modi. They called him ‘Butcher of Gujarat’ who let ‘river of blood’ flow in the state just because he questioned selling of (nonsense) paintings made by Didi for party funding for a whooping Rs 1.8 Cr.

Recently, Didi went ballistic on Modi calling him gadha, bhonda, shaitan and danga babu. Here is a peek into the ‘wordly’ love of Mamata Di for Modi Babu:

“Modi ia a ‘danga babu’ (riot man). We have not forgotten that it was he who instigated the communal riots in Gujarat in 2002.”

“What does Modi know about Bengal and its people? He is a ‘gadha’ (donkey) to make comments like that. He is dubbing people of Bengal as refugees.”

“Modi is a shaitan (devil), a dangerous person. He only knows the policy of divide and rule.”

“Modi is Haridas Pal (useless person) who does not have an MLA here”.

“It is not that easy. After (he) had said all this (on Bangladeshi infiltrators), had I been in the central government I would have tied (him) with ropes and would have made him walk on the road.”

Modi has innocently replied to all her jibes: “Didi gets angry with me as your love for me increases. She remembers me 200 times a day. I don’t know what she says of me. But Didi, your every word is blessing for me.”

With Modi himself calling EC biased, Sampath tried to reiterate that the constitutional authority was committed to ensuring “free, fair and peaceful” elections in a non-partisan manner.

“We are disappointed that questions are being raised over the commission’s impartiality… jurisdiction… We are not afraid of any political party or entity in discharging our duty. EC has come across certain harsh statements. We reassure that EC is doing its job in strict non-partisan manner,” Sampath said.

“You might have noticed that this election, the commission has also banned even star campaigners and candidates who were accused of making hate speeches from participating in public speaking. Therefore any reference to ‘boldness’, we would like to point out that the commission is not afraid of anyone or anything”, he further added.

But what Mr Sampath failed to address was the fact that various political leaders, apart from BJP, had indeed delivered comments which were not only ‘bold’ in the words of EC but also out of the purview of law.

EC took note of Modi’s address where he had invoked Ram just to remind voters that they must vote for a change to take place. It moved police to arrest Amit Shah who wanted to take revenge by voting against the corrupt Congress. But he failed to act against Sonia Gandhi for her meeting with religious leaders and invoking communal politics. It also failed to act against Aam Aadmi Party’s Shazia Ilmi who openly asked for vote by asking Muslims to become communal.

Not only EC overlooked Kalyan Banerjee’s ‘river of blood’ comment, it repeatedly failed to take notice of TMC chief Mamata Banerjee’s derogatory comments against Modi. He was called a ‘dog’, an ‘impotent’ and a ‘donkey’. But EC was more involved in addressing to the problems of Congress rather than taking note of the real problems.

In fact, it is yet to take any action against blatant violation of election law by Shehzada Rahul Gandhi in Amethi. When asked in the same press conference about the pictures of Rahul coming out of polling area during polling hours, CEC Sampath dodged the question by saying that he has asked for a report.

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal was given permission for holding press meet in the same Beniyabagh. AAP has been openly asking for votes on communal basis. Rahul Gandhi, whose Congress party has been indulged in various hate speeches and who was actually a sponsor for ‘boti boti kaat dunga’ famed Imran Masood, was given permission for his May 10 rally without any dispute in the same area. But when it came to Modi, EC started remembering the secular position of the country which must be maintained.

The beholder of such a high and non-partisan post failed to do his job. But the actual ‘disappointment’ was his defiance of failure. Days are not far when this protest, which was recorded in Varanasi, will be recorded all over country against EC and its sanctity will be questioned again.

Reportedly, angered by the refusal, BJP shot off letters to the Election Commission alleging “partisan behaviour” by Returning Officer Pranjal Yadav and declared that senior leaders Arun Jaitley, Amit Shah and Laxmikant Bajpai would stage a sit-in at the Lanka Gate of Banaras Hindu University.

Modi was to address two rallies – one in Beniabagh, a minority-dominated area in the heart of the city, and at Jagat Inter College Ground at Rohaniya on the Banaras-Allahabad road. While he was given a go-ahead for the Rohaniya meeting, the disctrict administration denied him permission to address the rally in Beniabagh, citing security concerns.

Interestingly, Modi’s proposed meeting with some intellectuals in the city and Ganga Aarti were also at first disallowed. But late in the evening, the district administration gave permission for them. It may be an effect of the social media which noted that Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal was allowed to do the same a few days back in the city.

Meanwhile, the EC has denied all the charges made by BJP. “Local authorities, the district administration there, who are directly in charge of law and order, have their assessment in the matter. The commission does not accept the insinuation of inaction or bias,” Deputy Election Commissioner Vinod Zutshi reportedly told pressmen in New Delhi.

This current episode has fanned the recent concerns of biasness of the EC. While BJP leaders, including Modi, were put in the wrong books by EC, Congress and AAP leaders did not even receive a chiding.

Yesterday, TMC chief and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee called Modi a ‘donkey’ but no action was taken against her by EC. Also, AAP leader Shazia Ilmi walks free despite asking Muslim community to become communal and vote for them.

Amethi went to poll yesterday and booths were captured there by the help of police. BJP candidate Smriti Irani tried to contact EC officers on occasions of poll violation by Congress but received no response.

So this is why Priyanka Vadra said that each booth will give reply to Modi ? pic.twitter.com/PshpPNeb1i

The situation touched the ceiling when Congress candidate Rahul Gandhi, who was present in Amethi on voting day for the first time in 10 years, visited poll booths and even to the area where EVM was kept during polling hours.

According to Time of India, Rahul reached a polling booth in Bhoaiya Kesariya Gram Sabha in Bhadarpur Block of Amethi at 8.15am with his aide Kaushal Vidyarthi and talked to a voter. At 9.20am he was seen emerging from the enclosed area after inspecting an EVM machine at Ashtabhuja Vidyalaya in Sahamau. At 10.24am he inspected an EVM machine at polling booth number 137-Amethi at the Madhyamik Vidyalaya Phoola in Tiloi assembly segment.

The pictures of Rahul talking to voters in polling booth and standing in front of EVM were circulated in the media but any action is yet to be taken by the EC for the naked violation of election law.

Today morning, Modi registered his concerns over the actions of EC on twitter:

Given the string of news and wrong decision by EC, people have started acknowledging CEC VS Sampath at ‘10 Sampath’ who has, allegedly, his loyalty residing somewhere in the Congress bastion. The tiring schedule of longest election in the Indian history is already being speculated as a move to favour Congress.

A fitting reply to the EC and Congress will probably be presence of Modi in Varansi booths when it goes to poll on May 12.

Some time you will find men of one party arguing with other party’s men on various issues. Some are running to the Election Commission, filing FIRs and covering the whole of India doing rallies.

But the only person enjoying the election season (Yes, even RaGa and Mrs Vadra are working hard in sun!) is journalist turned politician Ashutosh.

He experiments with telekinesis as chairs as subjects, plays with lambs (or was it a goat?), clicks some selfies and moves happily in open vehicles enjoying shower of flower petals. And what more would you want when you get attention without even doing anything?

A similar thing happened today when Ashutosh tweeted the ‘regular’, ‘mundane’ stuff:

She is fed up of all these men who question her singlehood, come and patronize her Uttar Pradesh and those who have emerged as new leader in her style of ‘Dalit’ politics. No wonder she is planning to join an all girls’ group of Amma and Didi.

But Behen Mayawati should not enter into a space where her political aspirations will be clubbed easily with her lies out in open.

On Tuesday, former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh defended the blue moon of Amethi and Raebareli for her ‘neech’ remarks and launched an attack on BJP prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi. Given her style of caste politics, the fact that she support corrupt UPA and is rattled by the thought that she might have to vacate her Delhi bunglow, it was quite an expected move.

Mayawati took an offence to Modi giving a caste-politics turn to the ‘neech’ comment by Ms Priyanka Vadra. She said that BJP was playing ‘despicable’ politics and that Modi should reveal his caste if he come from a lower caste background at all.

“What the Congress said was that he was playing low-level politics. He tried to reap benefits out of it throughout the day today (Tuesday). He is doing despicable politics in the garb of this issue,” the Bahujan Samaj Party leader said.

The Congress sympathizer may be driven by the fact that there are some chances, even though small, the third front and the ‘girl’ front will join hands to make her the PM candidate. The caste arithmetic in UP may also help her if at there is such a fractured mandate. But little does she know that her own past may come in front of her stalling her dreams.

The man she is calling ‘communal’ now was once her favourite. After 2002, Behenji had given a clean chit to Modi and had even campaigned hand-in-hand for him along side former PM AB Vajpayee.

A PTI report dated December 8, 2002, thus read: “Giving a clean chit to Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati on Sunday announced her party’s support to BJP in Gujarat Assembly polls saying it was morally bound to help the saffron party which was supporting it in UP.

The BSP would support BJP in 151 constituencies but would contest 31 seats on its own, Mayawati told a press conference in Lucknow.

The Chief Minister, who would accompany Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for electioneering on Monday in Gujarat, said it was her party’s “moral responsibility” to support the BJP in Gujarat as it was supporting the BSP in UP.

Mayawati said the decision would not have any “adverse” effect on BSP’s Muslim vote bank in Uttar Pradesh.

Rejecting the Congress charge on Modi’s role in the communal violence that rocked Gujarat following Godhra massacre, mayawati said “a Chief Minister will never do anything which will bring bad name to his own government.”

“The charges against Modi are baseless,” she said.”

Now please tell us Behenji, are you feeling threatened? Or you are just an opportunist?

He is a real gem in the armour of Congress party who explains things that we normally do not understand (Remember poverty is a state of mind, no?) or observe (Chowkidar chori bhi karta hai).

Today was no different in life of RaGa as he, once again, unleashed his scientific temper while addressing an election rally. Take a look at the golden words that poured from his mouth:

It seems that he has taken offence to the extent of dudness that was being matched by Mrs Vadra in Amethi off late. And that’s why he unleashed his terror today while in the Mirzapur rally. Poor UP chaps must be confused trying to understand whether it was a compliment or simple nonsense.

The denigration which started with Congress high command’s “Maut ka Saudagar” jibe has spread too far now. This election season, ‘jibe-business’ in Indian politics has put the humanity to shame.

Here are eight worst jibes of Lok Sabha election 2014:

“Even a prostitute does something better than such a politician.” – Congress’ Pappu Yadav on LJP’s Ram Vilas Paswan in his Hajipur rally.

“Take possession of Muslim houses, evict them forcefully, put a Bajrang Dal board.” – Praveen Togadia in Bhavnagar to his followers.

“He goes to Dalits’ house for honeymoon and picnic. Had he married a Dalit girl, then his luck could have clicked and he would have become the prime minister.” – Baba Ramdev on Rahul Gandhi at Lucknow.

“After drenching Gujarat in a river of blood, does he want to drench Bengal in an ocean of blood…I challenge Modi. If after May 16 even if one Bangladeshi is sent out of Pashchim Bongo, not one BJP supporter will be left in Pashcim Pongo.” – TMC’s Kalyan Banerjee on Modi

“Main Modi ki boti boti kaat dunga” – Congress candidate Imran Masood on Narendra Modi

“He is neither man nor woman.” – Azam Khan on Baba Ramdev.

“Mai use kunwari kahun, srimati kahun, ya behen kahun (should I term her (Mayawati) Miss, Mrs or sister.” – Mulayam Singh Yadav on Mayawati.

“Those who vote for Modi should jump into the sea…” – Union minister Farooq Abdullah

The level of political discourse has gone to drains with ascendance of those who do not know ‘P’ of politics and the enthusiasm of seasoned politicians with the knowledge of defeat are now killing it.

That was the first indication that EC has become an agony aunt. In fact, it continues to be in character this election season.

The Congress party runs to it with some stupid complaint and the EC acts immediately without thinking twice.

Be it the #revenge jibe of Amit Shah or #selfie of Narendra Modi, the EC has been spending its power and energy at the wrong place. The height of biasness is touched when similar offence is done by another political party and it never issues a diktat, let alone chiding.

This time, EC is looking into BJP prime ministerial nominee for invoking Lord Ram at a rally in Faizabad.

Apparently, Modi’s rally had a backdrop poster of Lord Ram and the Gujarat chief minister referred to the Lord several times asking people to teach Congress and those who support it a lesson for not fulfilling electoral promises.

“This is the land of Lord Ram where people believed in ‘Pran jaye par vachan na jaye’ (one may lose life but cannot break promise). Can you pardon those who broke their promises?” Modi said referring to the ruling party’s unfulfilled promise of providing 10 crore jobs to people.

“I, from this land of Lord Ram, promise you that I will fight corruption my whole life. Where do I get the strength to speak this? I have lived this my whole life,” he further added.

However, Modi skirted any reference to ‘building’ Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya. But the EC, just like the covered elephant, has started the fire. Its juvenile act has fanned the Ram Mandir issue once again making it come alive on media.

Twitter has also come against its act and many people, including MP chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan raised their objection:

Is Ram-Rajya a communal term? Disowning our culture to look secular? Is quoting from Tulsidas communal? Such a travesty of tradition!

EC is simply harassing the respect that it has being a constitutional authority. Days are not far when people will organize themselves against its biased judgments. We have seen allegations of it being hands in gloves with Congress due to its silence on various issues. Who knows, next we hear similar things for it being a party to 10 Janpath from a book…
