It is mostly expected that if you are a man then you need to possess some supreme skill of never experiencing pain.

No matter what the situation is, a man is considered to be tough and capable of handling the pain without shedding any tears.

Our country has very distinctly separated and restricted some habits on the basis of gender. If you are a man then you are not supposed to cry but don’t men get emotional?

They do but they don’t express in public.

A man who seems to be jolly good all the time is hiding his deep emotional side within. Why do men hide? Well because the society is structured in a way that emotions are looked at as a sign of weakness.

They feel the pain but choose to cry alone. It also becomes a sign of ridicule when a man cries in public. I mean won’t you find it unusual? Have you ever seen a man crying his heart out in public?

Yes we have seen our heroes crying in movies but there is more fascination for men in action.

So when a man gets emotional what does he do? There are certain traits that the strongest of men indulge into for expressing their emotions.

They cry alone. They appear to be tough on the outside but there are times when you would find guys cutting all ties and being aloof. They would tell you they are busy but the reality would be that they are lonely and upset.

They would go for a long drive or might even plan a trip to a far off place say Ladakh. Adventures and treks or may be even long drives or bike rides serve the biggest outlet and most of the ‘tough men’ resort to this option. Traveling alone is their favorite way to live with their emotions.

travel alone

They hit a bar. Calling some other guys and getting sloshed is the usual way of relieving emotions.

Men and emotions

They have sex. This is another option that men adopt to let out their emotions. They relieve the emotions this way.

Instead if a man is mard enough to cry and accept their emotions won’t it be much easier?

Liking a girl is not really the main issue here but pursuing her despite her rejection turns out to be ugly. Guys think that if they constantly keep trying then the ‘no’ would turn into ‘yes’.

‘Ladki patana’ is like a subject that men take pride in mastering. Well there are times where such constant measures of hitting on a girl can lead to really grave consequences and traumatic experiences for the girls.

Persuading a girl in the neighborhood:

Our society tends to judge a girl before the guy. When a girl is raped it is usually concluded that she asked for it. Similarly when a guy is hitting on a girl, people in the society easily tend to mark her character and might even go to an extent of tagging her with horrific names (wh*re, sl*t, etc.)

Constantly when a guy follows a girl in the neighborhood; firstly he is invading her privacy and secondly people tend to judge the girl. Moreover when the girl doesn’t pay heed to the boy, people pity the boy’s plight and conclude her of having an attitude problem.

Hitting on a girl at work:

This is the worst situation for any woman. Already working women face the challenge of proving their skills at work. Our society has still not accepted the concept of women working and earning for themselves. Firstly it is the society that they need to fight and then to be in the man’s world is really not easy. If you tend to succeed instantly and by coincidence if your boss also happens to be a man then you are easily rumored to be sleeping or physically satisfying your boss to reach your career heights.

In such an environment if a guy (boss/ colleague) keeps pursuing the girl then it becomes a mental torture. Office affairs are not unknown but when the woman says no and the guy still pursues then it gets murky.

Hitting your sister-in-law:

This is again a common case and is probably the worst scenario for any woman. If the perpetrator is outside he can still be tackled but if the predator is within the family then the woman becomes extremely helpless.

Especially when the person in question is the husband’s brother, which would mean the strong bond between the two brothers. No woman would want to be the reason for any fight between two brothers. Mostly our society is structured in a way that even after marriage the wife still continues to face hardships gaining acceptance at her in-laws. If such kind of an incident takes place then it becomes extremely difficult for the woman. She can’t reveal to her husband about his brother.

In the name of protection the brother-in-law would have his vested interest and try to accompany the girl places where her husband might not be able to make it. She can’t deny, can’t go with him, can’t tell her husband about it, etc. the dilemma that a girl goes through in such a situation is really pathetic.

When the guy friend never understands that he can never be the boyfriend:

This gets really irritating. It is a very common Indian mind-set that a girl and a guy can’t be friends. Just because a girl is sharing her deepest secrets and may be even being physically comfortable with a guy friend doesn’t mean she sees him like a boyfriend. Some guys don’t understand this. They might have spent really good time but if the girl finds her man then this reality isn’t very well accepted by the friend.

He would secretly hope for them to break-up or would go to any extent to do that.

Below is a song from the movie ‘Mere yaar ki shaadi hai’ where the bachelor party turns into a nightmare for the couple.

When a young boy keeps going behind a woman:

Juveniles are no exception to eve-teasing. When matured men don’t understand a girl’s denial then what can we even expect from young boys in their teens? Moreover our films also have had such bad impacts that men are born with the intention of pursuing till the girl gives in.

For example check out this song ‘Lakh Lakh’ from the movie ‘Kambakkht Ishq’. Akshay Kumar literally harasses Kareena Kapoor in public but hey he is the hero!!

Such depictions in popular media have built the stereotype and even kids grow up thinking it is cool to harass women.

At such young age they tend to believe whatever they see. It is very important that the society learns to respect women and the space.

Nobody in this world has the right to invade that space. Liking a person is a very beautiful feeling indeed but men should also need to be mature enough to handle rejection. A woman should never pay the price for a feeling the guy develops.

The main problem is some men can’t handle rejection.

Just so you know it is the most ancient group of texts based on the human sexual behavior written by Vatsyayana.

In spite of this, there are some shocking facts that have come to light in the recent times.

A study says that in India, there are more than 50% married women who are sexually dissatisfied with their men. Probably the cause for the increasing divorce rates is this reason. Compared to many other Asian countries, the rate of women being dissatisfied with their sex life is much higher.

The main reason for dissatisfaction is the increasing stress and work load in a person’s life. In the run of extreme, competition and stress of job is making life a little difficult for the couples and making many women unhappy with their married life.

Well much to your information, we Indians have a solution to any problem in any which way.

Yes, the solution to this problem is Gigolos. The trend of gigolos is speeding up in the recent times. Gigolos, basically, are the male prostitutes providing services to women of different age groups right from the college going girls to the working women and housewife. They have huge clientele.

Just like men have female escorts to satisfy their sexual desire their male counterpart gigolos are an emerging trend in the present time. Much to our surprise, it is believed that this trend is now going popular even in Bollywood.

Men who are mostly involved in this profession are basically from good families but the want of easy money and luxury lifestyle force them get into this. People who are mostly involved in this are gym instructors, struggling actors and models, courier boys and many more.

Apart from this, there have been many training sessions given to gigolos, because according to personal blog of a gigolo, it is not just their looks that fetch them work but good personality and the way they talk is also important. This is the main reason why there are many experienced gigolos who are grooming other men for this profession. Also they are given a proper sex education to protect them from all kinds of STDs.

There has been a long debate on whether to legalize prostitution or not, but with present scenario, seems like legalizing it is a better option for both men and women not for the masses but for the people who are engaged in such a profession.

Although they are unacceptable by the society, legalizing them can be a good decision in order to make their life a bit better in the near future.

Which accent?

Well check for yourself. Don’t miss the ‘tremendousva’ moment.

When we talk about a Bihari the first thing that usually strikes the mind is their accent. The PR branding and media coverage of Lalu Prasad had been so impactful that even subconsciously we somehow relate every Bihari man to him.

People, who don’t agree with me on this, then well, hats off to you all for not stereotyping. For the other unfortunate junta including me who tend to link and generalize…it is time we broaden our minds.

Why is it so difficult to imagine a Bihari without the paan and the accent?

Talking about paan, well not every spit you see on the streets is by a Bihari.

For God’s sake just because he is a Bihari doesn’t mean he has to have a paan. Even if he does can we please not generalize it with the typical red spits on the streets?

Spitting is a habit that anyone can develop irrespective of what community he belongs to.

The red patches that we often encounter on the streets or walls don’t necessarily have to have a Bihari tag attached to it. It can be anyone for that matter.

Not every Bihari aims to be IAS officer:

Although Bihar and Jharkhand is known to produce IAS officers but it isn’t a hard and fast rule that every Bihari has to choose this profession only. We have Mika Singh from Bihar. On second thoughts what if the singer chose to be IAS officer.

Uhhh no thank God he chose to ‘Subah Hone Naa De’.

Not every Bihari guy is a ‘despo’:

If a Bihari guy is asking you a genuine doubt then it doesn’t necessarily mean that he is hitting on you. About desperation, well any guy can be the desperate types. You might come across a Bihari who wouldn’t even be interested in you.

Not every Bihaari talks loud while conversing on phone.

Imagine a Bihari talking on phone. The two distinct characteristics that would come to mind are the super audible nature of conversation and the usage of cheap abuses. For example the word ‘sasura’ has to be there in the conversation.

Although there might be men who speak like they want the entire surrounding to hear their conversation but that is the case with many Indians.

Forget men travel in the ladies compartments of Mumbai locals and you would find a competition of decibel levels.

Myths about Bihari men – It is time that sasura we give them a breakwa.
