A day to spend without any work, stay at home and relax after dedicating a few minutes to the National holiday. Feels like heaven but, what about the countries like Germany and Britain? Germany has recently been rewarded with Unity day which is on 3rd October. Publics have to go to work and spend the day at home.

Comparing to other countries globally Germany has one national holiday while Britain does not have any. History already mentions the Superiority of the British ruling over the world. By 1913 British was able to occupy 23 per cent of the world population.

No National holidays in Britain and Denmark

Rulers who have been ruling for centuries actually did not realize to have any kind of independence day. The country itself is responsible for the awarding with different parts of the world with National holidays. There are different holidays to celebrate from valentine’s day to Christmas round the year but no specific day to remember about dependency or slavery. Seems like the people have been in heaven for years.

Other countries from different parts of the world celebrate their national holidays. Somehow or another Britain has been responsible for them. To celebrate, formally they did not need any such kind of day to celebrate. No schools, offices and organization are closed on the occasion and dedication on the honour of nation in Britain. Britain celebrates the birthday of the Queen but does not have any holiday.

Denmark’s constitution day

Another country is Denmark that does not have any such day to celebrate. The country has the constitution day but no official closings are on this day. The constitution day is celebrated on 5 June which is in honour of the first as well as present that was declared in the year 1849 and 1953. They believe it as the day of democracy but without any break from work or schools.

Now, the day is treated as a normal working day but earlier from 1891 to 1975, there was half-day work for the people of Denmark. Denmark is one of the countries in Europe without any national holiday. It was hell in past is now heaven!

Unity day from 1990 in Germany

Germany was another country that did not have any such kind of day. It was in 1990 that they have Unity day. They stay at home and enjoy their day off from regular activities. The rulers who invaded or captured the regions have claimed their day of independence. But with the changes the days were shifted, such as during the Nazi power the day was May 1st from 1933 while Hitler came into rule it was on 9th November 1939.

The Unity day was declared after East Germany and West Germany was able to reunite in 1990 on 3rd October. Finally, it has one unity day but there is no off from work.

These are the three countries which have many holidays round the year but it does not have any specific National holiday. They do not have any requirement to celebrate independence day which ensures freedom as heaven!

When any part of India explains their ethnicity they mostly connect themselves with the culture that they are bearing with them from their ancient times. The four parts of India are divided into extremely different parts, so are the culture related to ethnic lifestyle.

When the entire part of the country celebrates different festivals and occasions we find them cherishing in various ways. While similarly on Independence day the diversity is celebrated with the colorful presence of Unity. No matter, it is the Mongoloids from the northeast of the Dravidians from the south the Independence day is celebrated with pride. Diversity in culture and languages are realized at every change in the state borders.

Aryan civilizations who had ruled over Europe and Iran have occupied the parts of the country and have been the indigenous people. Similarly the Mongoloids still dominate the northeastern state of the country. The seven sisters of the east have different spoken languages from the Assamese to Nagamese. And, they have been from one ethnic culture. It was a time when they had separated virtually from India and did deny to celebrate the Independence day. But as time grew older their involvement as Indians has grown to be intense and they are found to celebrate this day similar to other states.

While the northern part has always been patriotic and their practice of Hinduism inside and around the northern part as a religion, they believe religion to be their Ethnicity.

Gaya, Varanasi, the ancient cities that are mentioned in the Vedas and scriptures. So, no one can overlook the cultural values when we find the river Ganges flowing aside the temples. The rituals are performed by the priests, on each festival and regular prayers. The pilgrim who take shelter as a believer of Moksha.

The western part of the country with a mix and match of the Portuguese and Indian culture which is famous all over the world. Their lifestyle culture and religion are inspired by the Portuguese. While you visit the oldest colony formation, Goa the establishment of churches, food, and lifestyle speaks about their ethnicity. The Konkanis who are the mostly the fisherman believes in Christianity while the Gujaratis who are pure vegetarians from the Hindu religion. Altogether a frequent diversification is observed which you can cherish due to the independence in thoughts and livelihood.

India has not only been diversified by the culture that describes the ethnicity of India. The indigenous groups and culture changes observed with the geographical changes. Hills and mountains of the east change when down to plateaus and blends with the seas and oceans at the boundaries of India. The entire part of the country has its individuality that influences the ethnicity of India stretching from the coastal part to the Himalayas. Independence of India has gained the pride to celebrate its diversity woven to unity. Along with the diversification in nature’s beauty and its indigenous people!

Happy 71st Independence Day!

On this auspicious day, what are you planning to do? Posting pictures on the internet to show that you’re HAPPY that India got its independence on 15th August, 1947 i.e. 71 years ago? What are your plans to celebrate it? No doubt, we will proudly salute our Indian army for protecting our country.

We will also sing our National Anthem with enthusiasm, right? Our National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana Adhinaayak Jai Hai, Bharat Bhagya Vidhata…will once again make us A PROUD INDIAN.

But, the question is, what are you going to do to ENJOY THIS FREEDOM? Just in case, you haven’t figured it out then don’t worry anymore. Here, I’ve compiled a list that’ll give you an idea on how to celebrate our 71st INDEPENDENCE DAY PROUDLY. But, before that, let me remind you why “August 15” was chosen as Independence Day.

The British Parliament commanded Lord Mountbatten to transfer all the power to the Indian Leaders by June 30, 1948. But, if Mountbatten had waited until June, then no powers would’ve been left to transfer to the Indian Leaders. Thus, he decided to pre-pone the date to August 1947.

Now, choosing a particular date was quite tough. But, based on his inputs, the British Government presented the Indian bill on 4th July, 1947.

Later, British Lord Mountbatten decided to choose 15th and when he was asked about it, he said “The date I chose came out of the blue. I chose it in reply to a question. I was determined to show I was the master of the whole event. When they asked: had I set a date, I knew it had to be soon. I hadn’t worked it out exactly then – I thought it had to be about August or September and then I went to the 15th of August. Why? Because it was the second anniversary of Japan’s surrender.”

Now, as we all know, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be giving a speech this time too. People are suggesting him themes to address in his upcoming Independence Day speech.

On the other end, here are some ways to celebrate our 71st Independence Day proudly.

This time, don’t be boring. There’s a way to show others that you’re proud to be an Indian. Wear tri-colored clothes. There’s a proud feeling that one gets when they wear something that shows love for our country. Enjoy your TUESDAY along with your friends and convince them to do the same.

Make sure to have this FUN – Fly a kite. Call out all your friends and enjoy this fun activity. There’s no better feeling than enjoying the FREEDOM along with friends. So, do it and have FUN.

Bring everyone together and plan something out. Or, make sure to go a place where people are celebrating it with total FUN. Join ‘em and enjoy the freedom to the fullest. I know, you enjoy a lot, but this time, do it with all the enthusiastic people around you. For e.g. there are shows i.e. singing and dancing, so join it.

The best thing is, to watch parade. There’s no best feeling than attending parade. If possible, make sure to attend it.

Also, what if you can’t attend the parade in Delhi? You can make it happen where you live. Gather people together, start singing songs and have maximum fun while doing it.

Why not go to an orphanage? Just think about it. Having FUN is not only about dancing and singing etc, there’s more to it. You can celebrate it in a PEACEFUL way as well. Go to the orphanage and make their day special.

Most importantly, while wearing the flag, don’t wear with an intention to show-off. Plus, wherever you see the flags on the ground, pick that up.

Independence Day is not just about celebrating it with your friends. You can spend time watching an Independence Day movie with your family as well.

When it comes to sharing pictures on Social Media account, this time, share your thoughts on Independence Day and let others read it.

This was all about the ways to celebrate Independence Day. JAI HIND!
