Is ‘Dhoti’ back in fashion?
Sushant Singh Rajput Byomesh Bakshi Dhoti Dress
Well, if paired perfectly can make you look sexier than those classy formal pants.
Check out the image below of Sushant Singh Rajput sporting the attire from the film ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’. The film is scheduled to be released on April, 2015. It is based on the fictional detective character of Byomkesh Bakshi that was created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay.
We have seen actors of those times donning this character. Uttam Kumar’s image is still fresh in my mind. But somehow it is easier to imagine the actors of those times wearing a dhoti. ‘Dhoti’ was an integral part of the wardrobe back then.
The new age actor Sushant Singh Rajput wears the attire in a way that he looks handsome and classy. There is a perfect blending of the jacket and the dhoti that gives the sense of indo-western fusion wear.
He wears the dhoti, pairs it up with a kurta, and a jacket or two jackets of different sizes.
Hair is neatly done with a watch peeping out of the wrist sleeves, socks and shoes to complete the entire personality.
U can also wear the dhoti as a replacement for the boring pants. Check out the picture below:
Subtle colored dhoti paired to a t-shirt and a coat. The hair styling again is a key factor to experiment this contrasting look. The hair should be properly gelled and set neat.
This gives a posh look and if carried in style can add a great variation in your persona.
Clean shaven or a bit of a moustache also looks good with this attire. I can’t really imagine long beard going with this style. The villains in the movies are usually depicted with long beard and big moustache. With dhoti the minimal facial hair is a safe bet.
Last but not the least you need to carry the ‘dhoti’ in style.
You need to be completely comfortable of the attire and walk and sit as if you are wearing casual pants or jeans. If you are conscious then practice for some time at home before you step out in this outfit.
