Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached south block and assumed his office at 9 AM today. After reaching the PMO, he was greeted by his new secretary and waved towards the media signaling that he was all business and unable to talk.

Inside the office, he first paid his tributes to Mahatma Gandhi by offering flowers on the small photo placed in his office.

He then took charge as he was handed a document by his secretary as soon as he sat on his chair. PM Modi’s demeanour was calm while he read this document and then signed on it.

After meeting all the staff, PM Modi soon left for Hyderabad House where he is scheduled to meet all the SAARC leaders. It is for the first time that a new PM will meet such big and important leaders on the very first day of assuming office.
