With yet another defeat (2-1 home loss to West Bromwich Albion), Manchester United suffered their worst start to the season since 2001-02 with 3 losses. With the Red Devils lying outside the Top 10 in the BPL table, we see where has David Moyes went wrong with his tactics:

Tactics misplaced:
In the absence of star striker Robin van Persie, Moyes fielded Wayne Rooney upfront with attacking midfielder Shinji Kagawa filling up the ‘number 10’ role. Even though Moyes might feel the formation is ‘right’, that is not being reflected on the pitch.

Kagawa’s cameo:
Japanese star Shinji Kagawas was an expert in opening defenses in his Borussia Dortmund days but here is somewhat the opposite. But it all comes down to David Moyes again who seems to have lost faith in the player and no wonder he was substituted at half-time.

Defense crisis:
Even though he praised Serbian Nemanja Vidic, without Vidic, the back four look in disarray. Also, Rio Ferdinand seems to struggle against pacy forwards on the counter attack.

Marouane Fellaini plays where?
The summer signing for Manchester United has began his career well under David Moyes. But with the likes of Michael Carrick and Anderson in the team, Moyes will have to rework his tactics as to which role should be assigned to the tall Belgian.
