Old foes, Manchester United and Liverpool lock horns in this feisty EPL game at the Old Trafford on Sunday. David Moyes’ men are already behind in the league table but a win over in-form Liverpool can spurn the Red Devils on. Who could turn the game for these sides? We take a look at the players who could be a vital part in this crunch game:

Manchester United
Wayne Rooney
It will spell doomsday for Liverpool if they forgot about Wayne Rooney. Former Evertonian, Rooney can be the creative cog in the Red Devils’ midfield that has been lacking so far. He is in goal scoring form and one may wonder what
Liverpool has to do to stop ‘Roo’?

Robin van Persie
According to the English newspapers, all’s not well between star striker Robin van Persie and manager David Moyes. Some are even speculating his future at the club but at the moment he still has a part to play for his team. On his day, his left foot can be lethal and Old Trafford faithful are gearing up to see a ‘eye catching’ display from the Dutchman.

Nemanja Vidic
The stalwart defender still remains solid as ever in the Manchester United defence. With this being his last season at Old Trafford, Vidic will be looking to the scalp of Liverpool in his pocket.

Patrice Evra
Remember Luis Suarez’s denial to shake hands with Patrice Evra after the infamous ‘racism scandal’? Even though the duo have put their past ignominy behind, Patrice Evra will be looking to defunct the Liverpool frontline that also includes the likes Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling.

Liverpool
Luis Suarez
Who else? His 23-goals in the league make him the ‘perfect fit’ for the Golden Boot award. The Uruguayan-born Luis Suarez will be eager to score a winner at the expense of Manchester United.

Daniel Sturridge
Another Liverpool frontman who is hit the ground running ever since his move from Chelsea. Daniel Sturridge has always complimented his strike partnership with Luis Suarez this season and will be looking to add more goals against their arch-rivals.

Martin Skrtel
Not many a time does a defender earn plaudits for his performance but Martin Skrtel has earned them through his sheer tenacity at the back. Liverpool may be fragile at the back but Srktel needs to be at his level best to stop the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Juan Mata.

Simon Mignolet
The Belgian keeper has done well in his first season at Liverpool. His performance between the posts has kept Liverpool amidst the title race and if they are to have a say, Mignolet needs shun out the Red Devils attack.

All in all, the crunch game between Liverpool and Manchester United won’t be a ‘walk in the park’. David Moyes and Brendan Rodgers know that one slip-up could cost their teams dearly and if Liverpool are to win this game, surely, surely they HAVE TO WIN THE LEAGUE!
