Finally, the EPL reaches it’s climax. 2013-14 season seemed like a rollercoaster ride as we come to the final chapter to decide the worthy winner of this Bollywood-style English Premier League.  Anything but a defeat for Manchester City against lowly West Ham and that’s it. The Citizens will record their second championship in three years given their superior goal difference over second-place Liverpool.

City manager Manuel Pellegrini stated that his side showed bullishness and refreshing honesty and that they did. The overspending Citizens had a topsy turvy season but the Chilean manager ensured that they achieved the major prize – EPL title. After a League trophy in their bags, Pellegrini and his merry men would be hoping to land another elusive prize in their cabinet.

City go in the West Ham clash having played the latter side thrice this season – once in the league and over two legs in the League Cup semi-finals and won every match, scoring 12 goals in the process. In their one meeting at the Etihad, City won 6-0 and it could have been a lot more. If West Ham have to do Liverpool a favour then they have stop City’s ominous home form. The Citizens have the league’s best home record, with 16 wins and a draw from their 18 games. The team averages almost four goals a game in front of their own fans, and has just broken through the 100-goal barrier for the campaign.

The title is there for the taking for City, and Pellegrini wants his players to grasp the opportunity with style. With Liverpool banking on City downfall at the Etihad, there’s no room for error for Yaya Toure, Edin Dzeko and company. With over 100 goals in the division, the title comes as a complimentary tag.

Result: 4-1 for Manchester City
