CSK skipper MS Dhoni won many hearts as he played on his ‘home turf’ and hit eight sixes against Sunrisers Hyderabadd (SRH) at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium. His innings of 63 runs which came of just 19 balls included five huge sixes that went over the ropes came in one Thisara Perera over.

This added another feather to Mahi’s mighty hat as he went on to score the fastest fifty in the history of Champions League Twenty20 (in just 16 balls). His fifty beat the previous CLT20 record of 18-ball fifty that was scored by Mumbai Indians’ Kieron Pollard. The West Indian set the record in the 2009 edition while playing for Trinidad and Tobago against the New South Wales.

Dhoni’s belligerent innings helped CSK amass 202 runs in their allotted 20 overs with Suresh Raina cracking 84 in just 57 balls. His batting had an influence on his fans who were screaming hoarse: “Dhoni, Dhoni.”

Some of the fans went berserk  “This was a complete ‘paisa vasool’ performance from Dhoni,” said Reema, a fan as she watched the match at the stadium. Echoing her view, another supporter Raunak said: “Today, Dhoni enthralled us. He did what we came for. This was a memorable batting from Dhoni.”

The fans who witnessed this knock at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium, will surely have this match immortalized in their minds forever!
