India kickstart their World Cup campaign when the current 50-over champions go toe-to-toe with the men from the Caribbean in a 5-ODI series followed up by a 3-match Tests and a T20.

MS Dhoni’s men have a seen a revamp with some young faces getting the nod from the selectors especially young spinner, Kuldeep Yadav.

Even though on paper Team India looks formidable, never underestimate the West Indies. Led by all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, the Calypso Kings will be looking to stamp a mark in the series starting with the ODIs.

Even though the West Indies will miss the services of star players, Chris Gayle and Sunil Narine; their team still looks decent and these 5 players mentioned below can cause panic in the Indian camp. Who are they, let’s find out:

Dwayne Smith
The 31-year old who is known for an all-out counter attack at the top of the order, Dwayne Smith can be a lethal batsman for the West Indies. With loads of IPL experience behind him, Smith can launch a barrage of shots that could give MS Dhoni and his bowlers a painstaking time at the crease.

Darren Sammy
Former West Indies skipper, Sammy is a great asset in the middle-order. With over 112 ODIs in his bag, Darren Sammy will look to improve on his batting accountability that makes a sorry reading of 1560 runs. A decent bowler in the middle of the innings; the Indian tracks can suite Sammy due to it’s slow and placid conditions.

Kemar Roach
West Indies’ bowling attack can cause a trouble or two to the Indian batsmen especially when Kemar Roach is in the team. The 26-year old is two wickets shy of 100 and with a shaky Indian line-up at the disposal, the former will be eager to bowl at the struggling Men In Blue!

Kieron Pollard
India and Kieron Pollard go hand in hand! The Mumbai Indians’ player is quite familiar with the conditions here and there’s no telling why the 27-year old can get acclimatised to the Indian pitches. Known for his blistering batting down the batting order, Pollard is a handy bowler as well. With over 1994 runs in the ODIs, ‘KP’ could look to galvanise the WI with a powerful performance.

Dwayne Bravo
The current skipper of the West Indies, Dwayne Bravo is a versatile all-rounder in the side. Bravo’s slower deliveries can leave the batsmen bamboozled whereas the batting can cause the opposition to rethink on their strategies. All in all, Dwayne is a ‘complete package’.
