ENG | HINDI

Mr. Wayne Rooney, did you watch Arsenal last night?

Come this Sunday, Persie will face his old team who are out to show him that they are here to win BIG!

Manchester United are back to what they do the best – Winning ways! David Moyes’ men remain undefeated after the last four games in the English Premier League including that inspiring 3-2 win over Stoke City at Old Trafford. Even with the wins in their stride, the Red Devils are 8th in the BPL ranking and 8 points behind leaders Arsenal.

Manchester United managed a draw last night with Spanish side Real Sociedad and now face table topping Gunners on Sunday. Many football pundits and ex-players are tipping high-flying Arsenal for greatness this season except for Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney.

Rooney said, “We’ll have to wait and see where Arsenal are in March. We’ve seen before that they’ve been in the top two until February or March and then faded away. They are doing brilliantly at the minute, so it’s down to them to try and stay there and us to catch them.”

Over the years (after the Invincibles), Sir Alex Ferguson’s men had the better of Arsenel’s with Manchester United landing 5 BPL titles and 1 UEFA Champions League. Rooney does make a point as Arsenal are yet to win a trophy (It’s been 8 years) and have lost key players ever since including the most famous Robin van Persie to Manchester United.

This year, after Fergie retired, in came former Everton boss David Moyes. He started off with a bang (4-1 win at Swansea City) but soon came crashing down with a 4-1 defeat in a match with rivals Manchester City. Their European adventure is a bit like ‘silent symphony’. Their forwards have lost the scoring spree and with Arsenal lurking, this might be the ‘first time’ after 2006/7 season that the latter will emerge victorious.

Arsenal defeated European favourites, Borussia Dortmund last night with Aaron Ramsey scoring his 11th goal (in all competitions). So big was the victory that Dortmund manager tipped Arsenal to win this year’s UEFA Champions League.

May be, Wayne does not believe in what has been said, but in what happens on the pitch. Come this Sunday and Persie will face his old team, which is out to show him that they are here to win BIG!

P.S: Mr. Rooney, you still have 2 months to decide and join the Arsenal bandwagon.
