The talented Rohit Sharma has once again proved why he is still considered as one of the finest young batsmen in the Indian ranks when his knock of 141* just blew the Aussies away. Here are some other knocks of the past where he has performed at his best but has been unlucky:

Commonwealth Bank series, India vs Australia, 2008
The first final between the two nations saw Australia take the drivers seat by putting a decent target of 240 and then upstaging the Indian top order. Just when the Aussie quicks were running away with the match, Sachin’s 117 along with Rohit Sharma’s calm and composed 66 ensured India wins the match. Later on, Sachin even praised young Rohit and spoke highly about his batting.

Zimbabwe Tri-series, India vs Sri Lanka, 2008
A young Indian led by Suresh Raina took on the mighty Sri Lankans in the 2nd ODI of the tri-series that also included hosts, Zimbabwe. The Lankan tigers posted 242 on board and in reply, a superb Rohit Sharma ton (101) made sure that India reach the target with quite ease.

Asia Cup, India vs Sri Lanka, 2010
Where the Indian batting was falling like nine pins, Rohit Sharma at the other end was making sure that his team doesn’t fall to a paltry score. Although his superb innings of 69 went in a losing and Sri Lanka marched towards victory.

West Indies in India, 3rd ODI, 2011
West Indies batsmen made merry of the batting conditions at Ahmadabad as they coasted to 260. In reply, Indian batting had failed to score but Rohit Sharma (who score a total of 95) gave the men from Caribbean a huge scare. Even though Darren Sammy’s men won the match, Sharma’s innings won him huge praise.
