We have all seen how Kapil takes the liberty to pull everyone’s leg including his guests. And that’s his USP after all, his unabashed humour and his piercing one-liners. But will he have the nerve to frolic around with Amitabh Bachchan. Now c’mon he is inarguably the big daddy of Bollywood, no one messes with him and if they do, Big B’s intimidating and sharp stare is sure to shut them up in a matter of seconds.
The news hovering in the not-so-clear air is that Amitabh Bachchan will be making an appearance on Comedy Nights With Kapil to promote his new film Bhoothnath Returns. Will Mr Sharma behave himself or be his usual ‘funny and goofy’ self, that’s yet to be seen.
Since Kapil has this endearing quality of hitting it off with anyone and everyone, we won’t be surprised to discover Big B having a wholehearted conversation with the articulate host. Take Shilpa Shetty for instance…She seemed to have developed a cool rapport with Mr Sharma, enjoying his jokes to the hilt. And there’s this one scene in which Churake dil mera, Shilpa’s hit number from Main Khiladi Tu Anari is played in the background to welcome Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra – to which Raj jokes by saying, “you guys didn’t get any other song other than Akhay’s.” Of course Kapil and Shilpa burst out laughing at the mention of the gorgeous actor’s ex-boyfriend. Well, I guess that’s what Kapil does on his show, he helps these la-di-da stars loosen up a little and take all the crappy jokes in their stride.
It will be fun to watch how Kapil deals with Mr Bachchan. Very rarely do you see Big B goofing around off screen and bring his playful self to the fore.
As long as ‘daadi’ doesn’t get too touchy-feely with the veteran actor, I don’t see any other reason for me to ditch this particular episode of CNWK.
