Bollywood movies are one of the most inspired and talked about topic in our Indian society.

It is said that the Indian Cinema is like a mirror to our society. Right from the past, Bollywood movies are known for their liveliness and beautiful locations.

Yash Chopra was famous for displaying the scenic locations of Europe in his movie such as Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaenge, Silsila and many more. There are many numbers of movies that have been shot in different beautiful locations till date.

I am always curious to know about the locations used of whatever movie I watch, but have you ever thought of the disguised locations that are used in the movies?

So this post is all about enlightening you about those locations used by the film directors as some other place!

Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani (2013)

One of the most talked about movie of the year, this movie became a favourite amongst the youth. The character Bunny with his passion for travel was an instant connect to most of the people. But very less people know about this movie that the location in the first half, where the romantic number, Subhaan-allah is shot, is actually Gulmarg in Kashmir and not Manali.

 

Burfi (2012)

Another critically acclaimed movie of Ranbir Kapoor, which earned many accolades by the viewers, also used some of the locations in disguise. The whole backdrop of the movie has been set in North East India and West Bengal. But Anurag Basu used few of the locatons of Ooty and its outskirts for the song Kyon Na Hum Tum.

 

Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon (2003)

This much known romantic movie, the remake of Chitchor by Suraj Barjatya had some of the beautiful locations in the movie. Much to our surprise, the script that talked about Sundar Nagar in India, the movie has been actually shot in New Zealand. Although it was portrayed as Sundar Nagar in the movie, the beautiful places where the people travel is from New Zealand.

 

Raja Hindustani (1996)

This blockbuster movie from the 90s was one of the most popular one and even won 5 Filmfare awards in 1997. Though the movie tells us about the place named Palankhet where Amir Khan lives, but many of its songs are shot at places like Ooty, Panchgani and Mysore.

So people, though the stunning locations used in the movie might be stunning but at times it can be used as some disguised locations by the makers of the movie!
