<p>I have my reasons!</p>
<p>Well, this morning I was sitting on my couch surfing social media and going through various causes people are promoting right from women&#8217;s rights to animal&#8217;s rights to what not. That’s when my maid came to hand over the tea and discussed her everyday problems with me while dusting. It made me think if we, as a society, are actually evolved as we claim to be or is it just a race on social media to portray ourselves as a responsible saint kind of people for our 15seconds of fame?</p>
<p>The harsh reality, my dear friends, is that we are nowhere near to be called a genuinely responsible and caring society. We, as a civilisation, have become experts in tom-tomming our good points and shouting from the rooftops about our achievements. However, we are least bothered about the rotten side! In fact, we are the contributors to that rotten side as we proudly call ourselves INDIAN and that&#8217;s how we are!</p>
<p>I am seriously not up to it! I just hate it!</p>
<p>Let me share with you the reasons for my callous statement and then you can decide for yourself!</p>
<p>Why I hate being an Indian ?</p>
<p><strong>1) We Actually Don’t Care!</strong></p>
<p>It’s not about caring for others’ opinion about our lives, but caring for real causes, real people. We talk about giving <a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/love-relationship/stupid-things-parents-say-to-children-2/68818">love to children</a>, but don’t think twice before ordering a cup of tea from an 11 year old kid working in a neighbouring tea stall, that too in the most indecent language!</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/we-dont-care.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28297" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/we-dont-care.jpg" alt="tea vendor boy" width="600" height="398" /></a></p>
<p><strong>2) Two-faced People!</strong></p>
<p>Yes, we all are two-faced people. We love our double standards, and to the core! We love dusky <strong>Bipasha Basu</strong> on screen, but only want a fair bride for ourselves or in our families! Hypocrisy, right?</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/two-faced-people.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28298" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/two-faced-people.jpg" alt="two faced people" width="600" height="494" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/two-faced-people.jpg 600w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/two-faced-people-486x400.jpg 486w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p><strong>3) Beating Our Own Trumpet!</strong></p>
<p>Aren’t we all self-centred to the extent that we try extra hard to show off our Gucci sunglasses and designer watches even at a funeral? Isn&#8217;t it always about brownie points or those few seconds of fame?</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/beating-own-trumpet.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28308" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/beating-own-trumpet.jpg" alt="beating-own-trumpet" width="600" height="399" /></a></p>
<p><strong>4) We Hardly Use Brains!</strong></p>
<p>Now don’t make that face of getting pissed off! Yes, we follow others without using our own head. A neighbor buys a particular cell phone; we all will follow them in a herd. Someone goes to a particular restaurant, within a week, we will try to go to the same place and even upload pictures on our Facebook, Twitter profiles!</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/no-thinking.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28310" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/no-thinking.jpg" alt="we dont use our brain" width="600" height="326" /></a></p>
<p><strong>5) Hardly Care About Animals!</strong></p>
<p>We don’t love fellow human beings enough, where is the question of loving animals? That is the reason for <a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/humour/these-cute-animals-cant-hide-their-emotions/67467">stray animals</a> living in such pitiable conditions and then we consider Cow as a mother and search for dogs to feed after performing <em>puja </em>at home!</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/stray-animals.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28314" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/stray-animals.jpg" alt="stray animals" width="600" height="320" /></a></p>
<p><strong>6) I, Me, Myself!</strong></p>
<p>Yes, you will agree here that all we are concerned about is our opinions and viewpoints about anything and everything! Others’ opinion or views, be it religion, beliefs or faith, who the hell cares????</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/me-myself1.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28312" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/me-myself1.jpg" alt="me myself" width="600" height="398" /></a></p>
<p><strong>7) Blind Copycats!</strong></p>
<p>A song becomes a hit in Korea, we will blindly copy it! A movie becomes a hit in Hollywood; there will be a race to copy it here. A new fashion trend emerges in France, we will copy it without even thinking if it goes well with our body types or not. You all remember the low-waist jeans fashion disaster just a couple of years back, don’t you?</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/blind-copycats.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28300" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/blind-copycats.jpg" alt="blind copy cats" width="600" height="350" /></a></p>
<p><strong>8) Whole World Is A Dustbin!</strong></p>
<p>Now that is one attitude which is responsible for <strong>PM Modi’s</strong> <strong><em>Swachh Abhiyaan</em></strong> going for a toss! My house should remain spic and span, but it’s my birthright to throw all possible garbage outside as I have nothing to do with it. It’s government’s job to clean it, right? So called INDIAN I am!</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/garbage.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28302" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/garbage.jpg" alt="garbage piles" width="600" height="350" /></a></p>
<p><strong>9) Money Decides If You Are Human Or Not!</strong></p>
<p>How much one earns makes him/her important in our life. Think about it, how much importance do we give to an office peons or a bus conductor compared to a rich businessman or a senior government official? Got the answer, huh?</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/money-decides.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28304" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/money-decides.jpg" alt="money and human" width="600" height="366" /></a></p>
<p><strong>10) Always Seeking Answers Outside!</strong></p>
<p>We blindly follow all those <em>dhongi babas</em> and gurus who sexually and financially exploit the followers as we want ready-made answers and solutions to all our problems, served on a platter! Wish we had the patience to look inside and find that all answers lie within us! Wish we believed in efforts and hardwork, as much we do in those <em>dharm gurus</em> and <em>gyaani babas</em>!</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/seeking-answer-outside.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28305" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/seeking-answer-outside.jpg" alt="Dhongi baba" width="600" height="382" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/seeking-answer-outside.jpg 600w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/seeking-answer-outside-95x60.jpg 95w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>Am sure you’ll agree with me that not all is hunky dory with our society and there is no time to sit and wonder about our ancestors’ achievements all those thousands of years back.</p>
<p>It’s time to change ourselves for good for a better today and tomorrow!</p>
<p>It&#8217;s time when I proudly want to say &#8220;I love Being An Indian&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>From food to artifacts, celebrities to toothpastes they all have a special place in the hearts of people living abroad. </strong></p>
<p><strong>Let&#8217;s checkout this unusual but interesting list of things and people that are &#8216;Locally a star but globally a super star&#8217;!!<br />
</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>1.  Yoga</strong></p>
<p>What do you expect when you Google Yoga? A photo of Baba Ramdev right! But instead this is what we got&#8230;</p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Indian-But-Famous-Abroad1.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28323" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Indian-But-Famous-Abroad1.jpg" alt="Indian-But-Famous-Abroad1" width="650" height="450" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Indian-But-Famous-Abroad1.jpg 650w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Indian-But-Famous-Abroad1-578x400.jpg 578w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></a></p>
<p>Though yoga has originated in India but it is more widely used in abroad as a means to being fit and getting spiritual. It was only after the Americans started doing Yoga, we remembered about this precious gift given by our ancestors.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>2.  Vishwanathan Anand </strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/virat-anushka-viswanathan-anand.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28329" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/virat-anushka-viswanathan-anand.jpg" alt="virat-anushka-viswanathan-anand" width="650" height="450" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/virat-anushka-viswanathan-anand.jpg 650w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/virat-anushka-viswanathan-anand-578x400.jpg 578w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></a></p>
<p>When the whole world was curious about Anand’s World Chess Championship final match, we were busy talking about Virat-Anushka’s affair and how it hypothetically affected his batting as if Anushka was his batting coach.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>3.  Irfan Khan</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/irfan-khan.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28325" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/irfan-khan.jpg" alt="irfan-khan" width="650" height="434" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/irfan-khan.jpg 650w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/irfan-khan-599x400.jpg 599w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></a></p>
<p>In India he was selling ‘Vodafone Ka Chota Recharge’ and in Hollywood he was one of the antagonists in the movie ‘Amazing Spider Man’ and even survived a boat ride with a ‘Tiger’. Well that should tell you everything right!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>4.  Gandhiji</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Hd-wallpaper-of-Gandhi-jayanti-2013.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28320" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Hd-wallpaper-of-Gandhi-jayanti-2013.jpg" alt="Hd-wallpaper-of-Gandhi-jayanti-2013" width="650" height="391" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Hd-wallpaper-of-Gandhi-jayanti-2013.jpg 650w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Hd-wallpaper-of-Gandhi-jayanti-2013-250x150.jpg 250w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Hd-wallpaper-of-Gandhi-jayanti-2013-400x240.jpg 400w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></a></p>
<p>The first film made on Gandhiji was made by Hollywood and not us. Except Munnabhai hardly anyone talks about Gandhigiri or Gandhiji. There are 46 monuments related to Gandhiji in abroad.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>5.  Bollywood Live Shows</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/bollywood-live-shows.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28318" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/bollywood-live-shows.jpg" alt="bollywood-live-shows" width="650" height="388" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/bollywood-live-shows.jpg 650w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/bollywood-live-shows-250x150.jpg 250w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/bollywood-live-shows-400x240.jpg 400w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></a></p>
<p>People in India won’t pay Rs5000/- not even to see their favorite Bollywood stars live because we are already fed too much of Bollywood right from the moment we were born.</p>
<p>That is why Bollywood live shows are more famous in abroad, where people especially the NRI’s miss their country and their favourite Bollywood stars.<br />
<strong>6.  Patel Brothers</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/patel-brothers-small.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28326" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/patel-brothers-small.jpg" alt="patel-brothers-small" width="650" height="488" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/patel-brothers-small.jpg 650w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/patel-brothers-small-533x400.jpg 533w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></a></p>
<p>We are in a bid to welcome Walmart whereas our people in abroad are loyal fans of Patel Brothers. The sweet taste of home away from home (Patel Brothers are a chain of Indian grocery stores in the US)<br />
<strong>7.  Saravana Bhavan</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/sarvana.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28328" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/sarvana.jpg" alt="sarvana" width="650" height="251" /></a></p>
<p>It is the largest vegetarian restaurant chain in the world, founded in 1981 offering south Indian cuisine and have 47 outlets in abroad.<br />
If you are in US and are looking for some amazing Indian food then Saravana Bhavan is the place to be.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>8.  Vicco</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/vicco_vajradanti_toothpaste.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28330" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/vicco_vajradanti_toothpaste.jpg" alt="vicco_vajradanti_toothpaste" width="650" height="330" /></a></p>
<p>This company may seem like a dying brand in India but still the company is running strong because of its 40% sales generated from the international markets. Like the Middle East and African markets. The company plans to achieve a 1000cr turnover by the financial year 2016.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>9.  Ayurveda</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/ayurveda_2.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28317" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/ayurveda_2.jpg" alt="ayurveda_2" width="650" height="435" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/ayurveda_2.jpg 650w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/ayurveda_2-598x400.jpg 598w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></a></p>
<p>Again a gift from our great grand fathers no less than an ancient treasure. Ayurveda is the key to curing almost every disease in the world and scientists still continue to research on old scriptures of ayurveda as a base for making modern day medicines.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>10.  Spices</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/indian-spices.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28324" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/indian-spices.jpg" alt="indian-spices" width="650" height="435" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/indian-spices.jpg 650w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/indian-spices-598x400.jpg 598w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></a></p>
<p>There is no doubt that spices are largely consumed in India but the point here is that are they really authentic Indian spices or just some adulterated powder. This is the irony that people in abroad get to taste the real authentic spices whereas in India we mostly get the inferior quality or adulterated products.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>11.  Indian Billionaires</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Indian-But-Famous-Abroad.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28322" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Indian-But-Famous-Abroad.jpg" alt="Indian-But-Famous-Abroad" width="650" height="450" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Indian-But-Famous-Abroad.jpg 650w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Indian-But-Famous-Abroad-578x400.jpg 578w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></a></p>
<p>When we think of billionaires the only name that comes to our mind is ‘Ambani’s’ but there are a lot of other Indian billionaires who are a very well known names in the world. E.g. Dilip Shanghvi, who is currently on the top position according to the Forbes list of Richest Indian Billionaires. Also names like Pallonji Mistry &amp; Shiv Nadar have net worth of above $10 billion each.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>12.  Elephant ornaments</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/elephant.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28319" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/elephant.jpg" alt="elephant" width="650" height="488" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/elephant.jpg 650w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/elephant-533x400.jpg 533w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></a><br />
Such artefacts are found in the homes of NRI’s who keep them in their house purely for nostalgic reasons. Also such elements are slightly classier than the obvious choice of a ‘Taj Mahal’.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>13.  Indian &#8220;Brains&#8221;</strong></p>
<p><a href="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/indian-brains.jpg" class='wp-img-bg-off' rel='mygallery'><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-28321" src="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/indian-brains.jpg" alt="indian-brains" width="650" height="432" srcset="https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/indian-brains.jpg 650w, https://www.youngisthan.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/indian-brains-602x400.jpg 602w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /></a></p>
<p>Be it Engineers, scientists or financial experts they all are literally exported to foreign countries and instead of motherland they make some other country proud. Not only the individuals but even the government is to be held guilty for not being able to retain the country’s talent.</p>
