History mentions the establishment of the religion. Bible has described the existence of the Jews after which modern Judaism is another phase that started from 500 BC. The formation of the Christian religion as part evolved from the Jews and Judaism. But over time the acceptance of Christianity has happened to increase worldwide. Judaism has been the oldest religion but not as popular as Christianity.

How did Christianity break from Judaism?

Growth of identity and recognition was the main reason that the splitting of Judaism took place. It was in the mid 2nd century CE when people were seeking a change. The desire for a change in identity and establishment brought a revolution. In the Roman Empire, the spread of Jews and their religion was throughout but slowly separation lead to reduce people following the oldest religion.

The population of the Jews at the time was less compared to the Islamic, all over the world. In the first century CE, the belief in Jesus, the God of Isreal was ruling their community. Following his death his preaches were spreading through the preaches of his disciples and followers, it was in the Hellenistic period.

It was in the early time of the period that the followers of Judaism started sacrificing in the name of Jesus. The sacrifice was to their Lord “Isaiah” as the result of their sins done on their nation Israel. Christianity described it as a way to show the presence and connection with Jesus to their people. The beliefs and practices were slow but over time till the breaking of destruction, there was an unclear division of Christianity and Judaism. Popular as Christianity despite an evolution is due to the freedom of thought that Jews were not able to provide.

Slowly their belief in One Lord, Christians had separated while the Jews had believed in more than one messiahs or God. Above all the failure of Jesus to provide freedom to Isreal had disappointed many of his followers to accept Judaism as their religion.

Why as popular as Christianity has shown renaissance?

While the thoughts and beliefs emerging among the followers were giving rise to renaissance and giving up the oldest religion. Isreal is known to be the home of the Jews, therefore after the separation over millions of years, the oldest religion is not as popular as Christians. Some non-jews have converted themselves to follow the one Lord “Jesus”.

The spread of the religion led to the involvement of non-jews, other religions to follow Christianity. Above all, the teachings of Jesus and no barring to thoughts and living that is not being afraid of God has inspired Gentiles to believe in the religion.

Over years, not only the oldest religion Judaism has not been able to expand its community. Christians are present in all parts of the world worshiping in their way but to one God. Preaching and the increase of followers have inspired them to convert to Christianity making it a popular religion.

Be spiritual! Believe in God! Know your soul!

These and many such advices are screaming through in our lives by thousands on a daily basis! Yet, hardly a few of them actually understand what is it being said to us and what needs to be done! We almost always get confused between religion and spirituality and think they are the same. Are they? Let’s clear it out for you!

Broadly speaking, religion is all about worshipping something or someone, following a set of rules and performing rituals to praise your God, in order to find God! Spirituality on the other hand is all about you, your salvation, and your journey without any compulsions of rules or rituals.

If we look at them closely, these are two different ideologies with different processes and different results.

Let’s show you how:

1) Religion Ties You Down, Spirituality Sets You Free

Religion asks you to follow a way of life and adhere to certain principles with consequences to face if not done properly, but spirituality asks you to follow your heart and listen to your inner voice about right or wrong.

2) Religion Scares You, Spirituality Offers Courage

Any religion on the planet asks you to do this or that unless you want to face the punishment. Spirituality on the other hand lets you know that love conquers all and how you should stand tall in the face of worst possible fears without worrying about the consequences. Religion cuts your wings, spirituality gives you new ones!

3) Religions Preach, Spirituality Believe In Self-Learning

Every religion teaches a way to God, the path to be followed. Spirituality tells you to know yourself and make your own path as we all are different individuals with different sensibilities and needs. Seeking higher truth is the way of spirituality, following a well-trodden path is religion’s forte!

4) Multiple Religions, One Spirituality

There are a variety of religions, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Jewish, etc., all claiming to be the best while spirituality talks about the oneness of all. We all might be different human beings in various parts of the world, but at the core we all are same and made of the same matter. Hence the higher truth for all of us is going to be the same!

5) Religion Gives You Crutches, Spirituality Takes Them Away

When you follow a religion, you get an impression that only this religion and this way of life is good for you without knowing if there can be something more to life. Spirituality just gives you the freedom to be independent and take your own decisions and follow your inner calling. Deciding your own rights and wrongs with conviction help you listen to the call of your soul without anyone else telling you what is right or wrong!

For mere mortals like us, the easiest path is of religion as we are conditioned for spoon-feeding. But if you want to really grow as a human being and be at peace from inside-outside, the path is bit difficult, but enriching and that is the spiritual path! Without fear of punishment, without anyone else asking you to follow certain things out of fear, you can listen to your heart and do what it feels is right.

Think about it!

It claimed that Lord Jesus had a lineage and according to latest findings, it might turn out to be true.

That is, unless facts are proven to be true!

A tomb found long ago in Jerusalem seems to hint the unthinkable. Most people who follow Christianity know and believe that Jesus never birthed a child and never died, he resurrected himself and became a God.

This tomb has some inscriptions on its ossuaries that hint at something else…

Details

While this may have links to some other Jesus of history, but historians believe that a tomb initially excavated in Talpiot in the year 1980 contains bone boxes (ossuaries) that have the names of Jesus’ family members and this ‘Jesus’ might well be the holy Jesus of Nazareth we all worship as the supreme lord.

Another ossuary with a phrase, “James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus” is what has reignited the controversy over Jesus’s family members’ bones.

These bones are being directly linked to the tomb in Talpiot, Israel where many historians over the years have believed that Jesus’s family members are buried according to various chemical analysis conducted by them.

Aryeh Shimron, the geologist who is the head of this study, now claims that it is highly unlikely that this group of names resembling the ones in the Bible can be found altogether anywhere in the world, they might well be part of Lord Jesus’s family and this tomb was the one that might have been the one from where Jesus might have been resurrected after deathby crucifixion.

According to history, Jesus’s birth is calculated at some time before 4 B.C. at a small village in Galilee called Nazareth, hence the name ‘Jesus of Nazareth’.

If this proves out to be true, then the Talpiot Tomb (Jesus Family Tomb) might actually be the tomb of Jesus of Nazareth according to many geologists who have studies Israel’s archaeological sites over the years.

Why is this so ground-breaking? The bible does mention a tomb! Is this even true?

This new finding can shake up Christianity on one premise – that Jesus was physically resurrected and he rose bodily towards heaven after his crucifixion. That, is when he became a true God.

A lot of historians have despised this claim since a lot of ossuaries inside the Talpiot tomb have names that don’t match entirely with Lord Jesus’s family members’ names.

The current research has yet not been published in any peer-reviewed journals, so it is yet to be scrutinized thoroughly before being claimed true. Skeptics are what skeptics do… they fixate on a claim and try calling it true.

A Little Background About The Life Of Lord Jesus and his family

During the time of Jesus, the people who died were buried in shrouds and once the flesh had rotted, the bones were collected and neatly placed into limestone boxes called ossuaries as safeguarding the remains of loved and revered ones.

In 2002, one of these ossuaries made headlines when someone translated the Aramaic text to be “James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus.” It is currently labelled as the only surviving relic from the time of Lord Jesus. This ossuary is called the James ossuary and was held by a private collector.

Israel’s Antiquities Authority had refuted in 2003 that this ‘brother of Jesus’ was actually forged. But, after some time an Israeli Judge cleared Oded Golan (the private collector) of any charges of fraud or forgery and deemed this ossuary to be genuine since Golan showed a picture of this ossuary clicked in 1976, many years before this ossuary was made public.

Why This Might Be Fake?

The tomb in question was excavated in 1980, but the ossuary is in possession of the collector since 1976.

Another tomb in Talpiot has boxes buried in rendzina soil bearing names of Jesus, Judah, Mary, Joseph and Yose. What are they then?

Why this might be true?

DNA samples were never studied thoroughly since they were reburied right after excavation since Jewish law forbids any tampering with Jewish burials.

Analysts do claim that chemical signatures of the James ossuary and Talpiot bone boxes do match, but they have yet not been verified.

An earthquake in 363 AD had buried this tomb in a flood. Since the soil matches the samples match the ones from Talpiot with James Ossuary. So, maybe the James Ossuary did come from the Talpiot tomb.

Maybe, Joseph of Arimathea did initially bury Jesus in an empty tomb and later relocated his remains to his family’s grave.

Conclusion?

It is too early for anyone to decide the proclivity of this claim and speculation does not work in either science or religion. Yes, the names are similar to the people in Jesus’s family but many historians believe that the entire case does not hold up since these names were very common at those times.

Also, these claims do not have any historical backing, the claim of “Judah, son of Jesus.” Is still under research. No evidence has ever been so true to actually claim that Jesus ever had a son.

Since the facts are yet to be unearthed, the situation comes to a standstill, the claim that, ‘Jesus rose bodily from the dead and ascended to heaven after he was crucified and returned to walk on Earth’ might remain unanswered for ages to come until historians and geologists come up with something new!
