No mean feat for sure in a country of billions with diverse ideologies and multiple political parties all trying everything in the book and outside of it to grab power or to hold on to it.

Even though his appeal is fading away, which is obvious as nothing is permanent; the way his opponents are ganging up against him is mind-boggling! It may be an ego-boost for him, but for an outsider it does look like an uneven competition.

On one hand you have one party, BJP and its smaller companions forming the government, while on the other hand you have the entire opposition rallying up against him. In the forthcoming Bihar elections, Congress has tied up with Nitish Kumar’s JD (U) and Lalu Prasad Yadav’s RJD to give stiff competition to Modi. We don’t know who is going to win or lose, but the fact that such stalwarts are not fighting graft, corruption or poverty caused by their own parties in the past few decades of rotten rule and are in fact training their guns at Modi baffles everyone. Is Modi such a huge figure that instead of working on issues for the common man, the political parties are only trying to prevent BJP to come to power?

Every election rally or media interview is aimed at taking pot-shots at Modi or his policies. Agreed, he hasn’t done wonders for the country and many of his ministers and party-people have been in the habit of putting their foot in the mouth. Also, I agree that the promises made before the general Lok Sabha elections were too huge to be fulfilled and were made to catch votes. Still the question is that the parties that are hitting at him, what has been their track record?

For one, Nitish Kumar did bring a change in Bihar. Not only the economy grew, but it became a safer state compared to what it was during Lalu’s rule. So why has Nitish become so desperate for power that he has shook hands with Lalu? What about Congress? Have they all forgotten the multitude of corruption cases piling-up against the party for which there are no satisfactory answers? Lalu’s track record is for all to see and there can’t be any argument!

This does look like just power-struggle instead of any genuine attempt to serve the common man. At least at the centre, Modi is ‘seen’ to be working for the betterment of the country. That perception also does wonders when we compare to UPA 2 when not even a leaf moved from its place! The heartening fact is that whether it is due to UPA’s policies or Modi’s efforts, the country is in a much better place economically than it was a year ago.

Bihar elections might remind everyone whether Modi is still the behemoth he is considered to be or is losing his sheen. But whatever happens, one thing is for sure that even after one year of grabbing power, he is still instilling fear in his opponents for them to lose their sleep and join hands with their enemies to hold on to power at any cost!

India hasn’t seen such a leader in many many years! Let’s hope we get many more of Modi’s kind, of course in an improved and refined manner!

Students aren’t ready to study, neither are teachers to pull them back. Right from B-Town celebs to politicians, everyone wants to lend a hand on this matter and take it to newer heights.

The question is – what is FTII controversy and does it deserve such hype?

Where All It Started?

The controversy started as soon as Mr. Gajendra Chauhan, famously known for playing Yudhisthira’s character in ‘Mahabharata,’ was appointed as the Chairman of FTII governing council in July. His appointment was briskly criticized by former and current students of the institute as well as fellow actors.

What Students Have To Say?

Since his appointment, students have been continuously abandoning projects, boycotting classes and protesting, for they think that Mr. Chauhan’s candidature doesn’t match with the “vision and stature” to head FTII.

Opinion of Industry Veterans

As soon as the issue grabbed the attention of media houses and newspapers, many of B-Town veterans latched on this matter and supported students. According to Anupam Kher, Actor & Former Sensor Board Chief, FTII needs a much qualified person than Gajendra Chauhan Ji. He further added, “FTII isn’t an ordinary institute. It represents a certain form of art; hence, the person heading it should be someone who understands the cinema world thoroughly. It certainly needs a more qualified person than Mr. Chauhan to uphold its status and image in the industry.”

Students of FTII aren’t ready to step back to ensure that the institute that was guided by legends like Shyam Benegal, Adoor Gopalakrishnan and Saeed Mirza in the past, doesn’t lose its reputation.

Why The Issue Got Such Hype?

FTII is the highest ranked institute in India when it comes to studying films; hence, it certainly needs someone with experience, knowledge and leadership skills at the top. Except his role in Mahabharata long back in 1988, Gajendra Chauhan hasn’t given any noteworthy performance so far. For most of the time in his career, Mr. Chauhan has acted in B-Grade movies like Khuli Khidki. This shows that he doesn’t even come closer to those who have headed this reputed institute in the past. Chauhan isn’t known as a contemporary actor, neither does he have good roles in his resume.

According to a recent report, Gajendra Chauhan’s selection was made on the basis of his half-page resume, which is not acceptable in any condition.

Without any experience, skills, good image and a solid resume, how did Gajendra Chauhan manage to grab a position that many would die for? Well, the answer is faithfulness to the present governing party BJP. He may not have given any memorable performance on TV after Mahabharata, but he has been an avid supporter of BJP for last 20 years. Gajendra has done campaigns for BJP many a times.

Given that he has nothing that is required for Chairmanship of FTII, what else could have prompted NDA government to plunk him there? Well, students and public are capable of differentiating right from wrong. They can’t be fooled this time!

Leaders of their respective parties and almost running a one-man show in their respective governments!

Both have razor sharp tongues and came to power by making promises taller than the Burj Khalifa towers in Dubai.

Of course they are competitors and competition is good in politics for betterment of the society, but as of now the two gentlemen are competing for the crown of “Who is the most incompetent of all?”!

To be honest the fight is really hard and every day brings new instances to prove that both of them are vying for this crown really desperately.

The day starts with Kejriwal’s name as a chant in and around his party office with everyone either singing his praises or his detractors, the likes of Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav vying for his blood! Same goes for Mr. Modi as his ministers and party leaders don’t start a sentence without mentioning their anndaata’s name. Ask Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad about net neutrality and he will say our PM Modi has said so and so..

You see, it is obvious that both of them are feeding their supporters within the party something which is having a hypnotizing effect! Kejriwal and Modi are being projected as leaders who can do no wrong, see no wrong, and talk no wrong! Then what perplexes a common man is if such is the case, then why isn’t anything happening on the ground as far as electoral promises is concerned?

Kejriwal came with big promises, but recently did a U-turn by saying if he can fulfill even 40% of his poll promises during his five-year stint, it would be an achievement!

On the other hand Mr. Modi promised return of black money within 100days of him coming to power and the whole nation is still waiting after a full year with bated breath about the return of at least records of who owns how much black money!

Just yesterday, Kejriwal held a rally in Delhi for the cause of farmers, even though Delhi as a state doesn’t have the kind of land required for massive industrialization. On top of it, when the poor farmer committed suicide in full public view, Arvind didn’t stop or cancel the rally; in fact he went on and on with his bhaashan for 20minutes! This doesn’t mean Mr. Modi is a saint! He makes news for wearing exorbitantly priced suits and sending Chaadar to Ajmer Sharif, but if somebody asks his government where is the compensation for poor farmers committing suicide due to unseasoned rain in recent days and no one will have any answer! To add up to it, the government is forcing the Land Acquisition Act down the throats of poor gullible farmers in an attempt to please the corporate lobby which majorly funded the elections!

Internal Party Wars for AAP and Kejriwal, while hoards of FOREIGN TRAVEL and less focus on governance for Modi: this is not what we voted for!

It would be better if these two leaders started focusing on fulfilling their promises or else the day isn’t far when the common man will exercise his vote again to kick them out of power!

What is your take on Modi and Kejriwal Gvernment?

The sudden disappearance could mean two things – either he is REALLY upset about Congress’ loss to BJP in the 2014 General Elections or he is diligently planning to come back hard at the ruling party in the 2019 General Elections.

We wish to rule out the past and the present here and instead focus on the future – the future of India under Congress, once again.

What if Congress wins and Rahul Gandhi becomes India’s next Prime Minister (or let’s crank it up a notch and assume him as a dictator)? Here’s a hypothetical evaluation of how things would be different than they are now under Narendra Modi’s regime –

Italian Would Be One of the Languages Taught in School

Italian would be taught in Indian schools

Being born to an Italian mother, Rahul is assumed to have emotional attachment to the language. Why not introduce it in Indian schools? Say goodbye to French and German.

MS Word Would Have Italics by Default

MS Word would have italics font as default

All Indians, who use MS Word on regular basis, would have their text style settings as italics. Italics font is fancier than normal text; so, makes sense.

Bomber Jacket Would Become a Style Accessory

Men would rely on bomber jacket to make a style statement

Rahul Gandhi incorporated bomber jacket to his everyday style staple, which was a Rajiv Gandhi trademark. Bomber jacket definitely has to be one of the biggest ironies on part of Rajiv Gandhi.

Investment in State-Of-The-Art Technology to Eradicate “Poverty”

Poverty would be eradicated via technology

Rahul Gandhi would definitely want to eradicate poverty, which he termed as a “state of mind” drawing criticism. His investment in technology would help change people’s mindset making them feel richer every day.

A Road or an Institution Will Be Named After Sonia Gandhi, Finally

Sonia Gandhi would have something named after her

No road or institution is named after Rahul Gandhi’s mother Sonia Gandhi. Most of his other family members have that honour. Rahul will make sure his mother gets the respect she deserves.

What do we get in return?

We get some highly corrupt or simply put, some idiots in the name of MPs whose only objective in life is to put their foot in their mouth and treat the average citizen of this country as a brainless cucumber!

Sorry to say, the citizen of this country is aware and quite intelligent not to take shit in the name of welfare or citizen-concerning schemes which are actually harmful!

We are talking about the BJP MP from Maharashtra Dilip M Gandhi who is also the head of a Parliamentary Committee on Subordinate Legislation for giving a statement which requires the English dictionary to invent a better word than mindless idiot to use for him!

The government wanted recommendations from this committee to decide whether to increase the specified size of pictorial warning on the packing of tobacco products from 40% to 85% so as to warn the buyers of the potential harmful effects of tobacco consumption. It was supposed to come into effect from Apr’ 2015, but for this man and his senseless recommendations to the government, such an advisory has been postponed!

What this man says is even though there countless studies all across the world, proving that tobacco consumption is hazardous for our health and is one of the primary reasons for causing cancer, we can’t rely on them as those studies have not been done on Indian citizens!

Now first of all this so-called educated gentleman must have got his degrees by paying bribe since he is simply unaware or blind to see availability of so much of research material in the context of Indian citizens about tobacco’s harmful impact. Secondly, even if, hypothetically we believe that we don’t have enough research on Indian patients, does it mean that we as Indians are a different breed than the rest of the human population? If tobacco is harmful for the rest of the world who inhale the same air, eat the same kind of food, has a similar genetic composition as us, it can’t be harmful to us as we were made from a different mould? Well, as of now, this MP seems to have been made of a different and highly defective mould to be not even listening to what crap he is vomiting out in broad daylight!

Wake up Mr. Gandhi, use your pea-sized brain and not think only about your growing by the second bank balance, but about humanity at large and talk sense! Don’t listen to only tobacco lobbies and be their slave! You have got the mandate to serve people and their best interest; don’t blow it away for your self-serving interests!

Hope the government doesn’t listen to such nincompoops and take sound logical decisions to save our coming generations from the menace of tobacco! It would be better to not give such people any position to torture the common man, rather zip their mouth and get their psychiatric treatment done!

He needs it badly!
