Sony Xperia Z1 Compact Smartphone Launched

Sony has launched the all-new mini variant of the flagship Xperia Z1 smartphone – the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact in India at Rs 36,990.

The all-new Sony Xperia Z1 Compact smartphone that was unveiled back in the CES 2014 earlier this year has now been officially launched in the Indian market at Rs 36,990. The great thing about this smartphone is that, unlike the many other ‘mini’ variants offered on sale in the market today, Sony has not comprised on the specs part. Instead, the Xperia Z1 Compact has been equipped with all the top of the line specifications – but in a compact packaging. The mini-variant of the flagship Xperia Z1 smartphone is now available on sale at the company’s official website.

The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and is manufactured by a single aluminium frame with tempered glass on the back and front panels. It features a 4.3-inch Triluminos HD (720×1280) display with X-Reality for Mobiles. It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 64GB with the help of microSD card. Power is supplied by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor along with 2GB of RAM, much like the elder sibling, Xperia Z1.

The highlight of the Xperia Z1 Compact in the specs department however, is the 20.7 megapixel Exmor RE sensor alongside BIONZ image processor engine and pulsed LED flash as seen in the Xperia Z1. The smartphone also features a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options on the device include, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/GLONASS and NFC. Battery pack consists of a 2,300mAh battery with STAMINA mode. Just like other high-end Xperia smartphone, the Xperia Z1 Compact too, is waterproof and dust-proof.

Priced at Rs 36,990 a piece, the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact will be pitted against some of the very strong contenders present in the Indian market today, such as the Google Nexus 5, the LG G2 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 – each of which are priced at Rs 33,990, Rs 34,200 and Rs 32,500 respectively. Yes, the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact smartphone is demanding more money than any of its three big rivals. However, if you are in the market looking for a compact phone that is light, easy to use, easy to carry and at the same time, do not want to compromise on any of the features and specs, then the Xperia Z1 Compact is going to be your only option.
