There are a myriad of smartphones in the market, however, only a few of them have the potential to pull crowds as soon as they hit the retail shelves. These phones attack the mobile market and create history…

With new launches coming up every week, smartphone companies offer a chock-full of handsets for the Indian brigade.

While some succeed in creating a mark in the minds of their customers, there are many others which left the market as quietly as they arrived. However, there are a handful of them which achieved raging success on the very first day of their launch.

With first-day buyers found lining up in front of retails stores to grab their priced possession, these handsets created the maximum buzz and hype.

Listed below are a few smartphones that made record-breaking sales as soon as they entered the market:

Xiaomi Mi3

This Chinese brand adopted the Motorola way of sale by tying up with a popular e-commerce website for online distribution of its flagship device. As soon as the handset went live on the site, it took barely 40 minutes for it to sell 10,000 units and go out of stock, leaving the Flipkart site crashing temporarily.

The astounding features of Xiaomi Mi3 include 5-inch display, 2.3GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM, and a classic 13 MP rear camera, all available at a mind-blowing price of INR 13,999.

Apple iPhone 5c & 5s

We are all aware that when Apple introduces an iPhone, it creates history, and iPhone 5s & iPhone 5c were no exception. On its global launch, the company sold a staggering 9 million handsets in mere 3 days. In India, during the launch phase in November 2013, the tech giant sold out all the units of iPhone 5s in less than 24 hours.

Further, the stock of gold-colored units exhausted within a few minutes.

Moto E

Moto G and Moto X marked a strong comeback of Motorola in the Indian market. However, it was Moto E which stole the show and grabbed attention of customers in cities far and wide.

This budget wonder managed to grab 2.85 lacs units in the first month, with the device being sold out within a few hours of its first appearance on Flipkart, resulting in a website crash. Moreover, it went on to become the trend-setter in the entry-level smartphone segment, particularly threatening handsets from the likes of Karbonn, Lava, Micromax, and more.
