– Food must be fresh & grown locally or at least seasonally

– Food must be eaten with attention & awareness.

– Avoid reading, driving, computers, and use of phones while eating. Our sense of taste prepares and ignites the digestive process even before the food reaches the stomach, and so does our sense of calmness.

– As per Ayurveda, the best time for eating is during Pitta period i.e. between 10 A.M. and 2 P.M. This is when the enzymes are the strongest and digestion will be the most effective. Eating at other times will eventually compromise the body’s ability to digest and assimilate nutrition and give energy over a long period.

Avoid Hurry, Worry & Curry To Prevent Acidity




Today in India, every fifth patient visiting primary physician suffers from acid peptic disease. Most of the time faulty lifestyle is an important cause for acid peptic disease. 

– Obese patients are advised to lose weight
– Dieting also helps patients avoid fatty foods
– Bedtime snacks should be avoided
– Avoid Tobacco & alcohol consumption
– coffee, tomatoes, citrus fruits, spicy foods should be avoided
– Fatty foods, chocolate & carminatives (spearmint, peppermint) should be avoided
– Avoid reclining within 2 hours of meals
– Excessive use of pain killers should be avoided
– Oral Pain killer medicines should not be taken empty stomach
– The head of the bed should be elevated to 4- to 6-inch blocks
