#SwearingInCeremony: A Unique Pan-Indian #ModiCabinet

Among the fluttering of papers, brochures and handkerchiefs, country’s 15th Prime Minister Narendra Damodardas Modi took oath of office and secrecy administered by President Pranab Mukherjee.

Today was a historic day in Indian politics apart from being hot and humid.

Among the fluttering of papers, brochures and handkerchiefs, country’s 15th Prime Minister Narendra Damodardas Modi took oath of office and secrecy administered by President Pranab Mukherjee.

Along with him, 45 ministers – 24 union ministers, 10 ministers of state and 11 ministers of state (independent charge) – were also sworn in by the President.

The Modi cabinet saw an exemplary blend of pan-Indian taste where some famous and some not-so-known names have been included. It seems as if Modi gave the minister of state charges in literal sense.

All the ministers were wearing the national flag on their heart which was given by Modi to them in the morning earlier today while in a meeting at Guarat Bhavan where he was staying temporarily.

Tonight, he will move to 7 RCR – the official residence of the Prime Minister.

The President had a tough time as he had to say ‘I’ and ‘Main’ 90 times and do as many sit ups for administering oath to all these 45 ministers.

All the SAARC dignitaries were present at the ceremony. They congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee after the ceremony was over.

Many bollywood faces, apart from Kiron Kher, Shatrughna Sinha, Hema Malini, Vinod Khanna who have won Lok Sabha elections this time, were also present. The name included that of Anupam Kher, Salim Khan, Salman Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Dharmendra and Javed Akhtar.
