Pakistan army indulged in gratuitous defending along the Line of Control in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir in the ninth ceasefire violation within a week.

Defence sources informed that the Pakistani soldiers started firing bullets towards Indian land in Kamalkote area of Uri Sector at around 7.00 PM last night.

The firing, which sustained for almost an hour, was struck back by the Indian side but there were no information of any one getting injured in the unpleasant incident.

The ceasefire infringement in Uri last evening was the third on Tuesday and followed within hours after an Army soldier died in firing by Pakistani soldiers at Indian forward posts in Balakote sub-sector along the LoC in Poonch.

Previously on Tuesday, Pakistani Army had also resorted to firing of mortars in addition to automatic and small arms firing in forward areas along LoC in Hamirpur and Bhimbher Gali (BG) sub-sectors of Poonch district.

The ceasefire breaches along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir have been on the increase this year.
