95 Indian players signed up for HIL auction

The Hockey India League (HIL) which kicked off this year plans to make it even bigger with the administrators planning to have a mini players auction starting from November 18, which will see 95 Indian players up for grabs for its next two editions.

The Hockey India League (HIL) which kicked off this year plans to make it even bigger with the administrators planning to have a  mini players auction starting from November 18, which will see 95 Indian players up for grabs for its next two editions.

HIL chairman Narinder Batra said the quality of competition and success of the inaugural season has created an interest among Indian players who have now signed for a closed bid. The list of Indians has young talented players who have recently performed well at various tournaments.

The list includes the likes of forward Affan Yousuf, vice captain of the Indian junior team that won gold at the Sultan of Johor Cup last month, forward Ramandeep Singh, goalkeeper Harjot Singh, forward Mohammad Amir Khan, forward Nikkin Thimmaiah, and defender Gurjinder Singh, among others, have signed up for the auction.

The list comprises of 10 goalkeepers, 16 defenders, 27 midfielders and 42 forwards.
