And we arrive on the ‘D-Day’ of the English Premier League.

Liverpool Football club entertain Manchester City in of the biggest matches of the League season so far. Even though the mood on Sunday will be somber, as the country pauses to remember the 96 Liverpool fans who lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster 25 years ago, the players on the pitch (the red half) will look to brighten it up.

It is indeed a big day for the Liverpool fans and the club alike as they are looking to win the league title for the first time in 24 years and also chasing their 10th consecutive victory. The league so far has been tricky with results that had never been predicted. Whoever clinches three points in this vital game, might have stronghold on the EPL Title. Liverpool won their 18th and last league title in 1990 but after years in the shadow of bitter rivals Manchester United, the fans from Anfield believe the time has come to write a new chapter.

Once again, the attack of Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez will be the ones, Manchester City have to wary of. Liverpool go into Sunday’s game four points ahead of City but their Manchester rivals have two games in hand. Chelsea are second, two points off the pace, and will travel to Anfield on April 27.

Liverpool’s greatest threat so far has been Uruguay striker, Luis Suarez who has been by far the league’s top player with 29 goals in 28 matches.

Manchester City will look on to the likes of Sergio Aguero and David Silva to provide that extra bit of threat and creativity in the Liverpool half. If the Citizens loose this game, they might end up empty handed.

Man to watch – Daniel Sturridge. The former Manchester City player has been in tremendous form so far for the Reds and if he manages to score against his old, what a point it would make to Pelligrini and his team.

Result – 2-1 to Liverpool
