His best goal has to be against Arsenal, when a 16-year old Wayne Rooney (then at Everton) ended Arsenal’s 30-match winning streak by scoring a solo effort past goalkeeper David Seaman in 2002. I could still remember those words by the on-air commentator ‘Rooney, remember this name’. He has given some fantastic moments for Manchester United too and I hope he ends his career at Old Trafford.

His goal against Barcelona in the 2011 UEFA Champions League final at Wembley is the best till date. United were down by a goal but his strike gave the Red Devils some hope of a comeback against the then best team in the world.

His wonder volley goal against Newcastle United in 2005 is one of the finest goals I’ve seen. The game saw United go a goal down and in came Wazza to blast a 30-35 yard wonder strike.

Wayne was coming under much scrutiny especially after Sir Alex’s claims of the former asking a transfer, but Wayne proved them wrong in the game against Crystal Palace in this year’s EPL. United were a goal up but his free kick settled all the nerves as the Red Devils romped towards a victory.
