Lionel Messi: With Lionel Messi in the team, Barcelona have just no right to fear. The former World Player of the Year is ready to take his game to another level and don’t be surprised if his tally of goals passes 50!

Gareth Bale: ‘World’s expensive player’ will be playing his 2nd Champions League and a first with Real Madrid. The 86 million man Gareth Bale knows the pressure is on him to deliver the goods and this ‘may’ be the season in which he can land biggest trophy of them all.

Neymar: The Brazilian wonder kid, Neymar will be playing in his first ever UEFA Champions League. With Europe’s top teams competing, Neymar has the stage set for him to prove that he is capable of delivering the goods on foreign grounds too.

Olivier Giroud: This season has been described by Arsenal and French forward Olivier Giroud as a ‘make or break’ one. After a satisfactory performance last season, Giroud is ready to lead the attacking role this season for Arsene Wenger’s Gunners. With Mesut Ozil in the squad, expect Giroud to net at least a dozen goals and take his side ahead.

Wayne Rooney: English forward Wayne Rooney’s summer would have been no less than a climax scene of a James Bond movie. After Chelsea pulled out the plug, Rooney has pledged his future to the Red Devils and will work with new manager David Moyes. Will their partnership flourish or end in turmoil? Marouane Fellaini: After spending 5 seasons at Everton, Belgian Marouane Fellaini made a deadline day move to EPL champions, Manchester United. Fellaini admitted that the lure of Champions League football was too hard to resist and with a new team and new players around him, Fellaini will be keen to showcase his talent in Europe’s best tournament.

Franck Ribery: French winger Franck Ribery was awarded the UEFA’s Best player of the tournament 2012/13 representing champions Bayern Munich. With new coach Pep Guardiola, Ribery can take his game to a whole new level and terrorize the opposition defense with much ease.

Robert Lewandowski: Even though Borussia Dortmund finished as runners-up last season, their main prize – Robert Lewandowski has stayed put for yet another season after much speculation regarding his future. Lewandowski is a goal threat to the opposition and his manager Jurgen Klopp rates him amongst the ranks of the Ronaldos’ and the Messis’.
