Lime Cola: This is one of my favourites and the easiest to strip up, and also gives those aerated soft drinks a much tastier, lip-smacking break. Squeeze the juice out of one small lemon in a glass and add a pinch of black salt and black pepper. Stir well and throw in some ice cubes. Top it up with an aerated soft drink of your choice and savour.

Mint Julep: A rejuvenating concoction of mint and lemon water, it will do you good when you really need that kick to come out of lethargy. In a glass, pour some water and sugar and mix well till the sugar dissolves completely. Muddle a bunch of fresh mint leaves and throw in the concoction. In another glass, dissolve some sugar in water and top it up with fresh lemon juice and water to make lemonade. Straining the mint leaves, pour the first concoction into lemonade and throw in some ice cubes.

Virgin Mojito: In a glass, dissolve 1 tsp sugar in water and throw in some muddled mint leaves. Keep it aside. In another glass, combine freshly made lemonade and juice from half lemon, along with half-cup water. From the first concoction, strain out mint leaves and pour the liquid into the second glass. Stir well, check for sugar and top with ice.

Lime Virgin: Freshly prepare lemonade by dissolving a concentrated concoction of sugar and lemon juice in water. Combine Coke or Pepsi, orange juice (fresh or canned) and lemonade in the container of a blender. Throw in some ice cubes, cover up and blend well until it becomes slushy. Serve chilled.

Cucumber Punch: In a mixing glass, combine ½ tsp sugar, juice from half-lemon, half-cup water and half-cup grape juice. Stir well until the sugar dissolves. Cut half-a-cucumber into slices and throw in the mix. You can also add some freshly cut lemon slices.
