Running
If you like to run but are tired of the indoor track and treadmills, take advantage of the beautiful warm weather and move your runs outside. Choose a trail, park, or other running path that’s safe, and make sure to wear sturdy running shoes.

Biking
Bicycling is a fun, low-impact exercise that works the heart and lower body. Always wear a helmet, pay attention to the road, and make sure to ride a good bike that fits you well.

Hiking
Many state parks and other areas offer hiking trails that serve as a nice break from your regular gym workouts and can provide a good lower-body and cardiovascular workout. Choose trails that are appropriate for your fitness level and stick to the path: Don’t wander into the woods, where wildlife or poison ivy may be found. Invest in a pair of good hiking shoes or boots.

Swimming
Swimming is a low-impact exercise that works the whole body and is good for just about everyone. Check out local public pools or take advantage of nearby beaches or lakes.
