It goes without saying that break-ups suck. It’s one of the most shattering things to happen to anybody, irrespective of their age and status. We all know ways to cope with a break-up, but how difficult is moving on? That’s what we are going to find out today…read on.

Going the distance:
There will come a time when you would have to walk the distance in your relationship. That’s the part that will make matters worse for you. Moving on extremely tough when you’re expected to walk away from the situation without giving any second thoughts to how difficult it is to disconnect completely. After spending a considerable amount of time with each other, this total disconnect can create a void that will take forever to get filled.

Getting over him/her:
The toughest part the break up is, obviously, getting over your partner. You are going to hurt yourself silly by thinking about him/her. But the best way to get over someone is to think with your head and not heart. Think of the all the reasons that caused you two to part ways. The reason why you’re where are you are.

May be the initial days were amazing and funny, but what about the present? Is it suffocating and boring? There, you have your answer. If you go to your heart for answers, it will only show you the good times and make you look like a fool for having let go of such a person. But it’s your mind that will tell you the whys and hows of getting over him/her.

Social media influx:
Due to the constant information-overload, thanks to the internet…there’s no staying away from your ex. Whether it’s the ‘happy’ updates and desperate attempts to make you jealous, you are constantly updated about their everyday stuff. Even if you choose to block/unfollow them, there’s somebody or the other in your circle who will tell you what your ex is up to. Should you stay off the net till you’re healed or brave the storm and act as if nothing has happened?

Emotionally vulnerable:
We find it hard to move on because we are ‘one bitten twice shy’ and are extremely vulnerable. Nobody knows how the new partner is going to be or if we would even find a new partner. So the idea of not having somebody by our side makes us question our worth. However silly it may sound, it’s the truth. We do consider ourselves worthless, unattractive and unfortunate after a break-up. It looks like the world is conspiring against us and gods up there are robbing us off happiness.

Getting over a break-up may be one of the lessons of life that makes us better, but it sucks. Despite you being prepared for it and even experienced in it, it’s going to hurt. A lot. So, let it. Don’t shield yourself from it…go with the flow and take it as it comes…because anything that doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.
