These North Indian Beauties Fared in South Cinema

North India is a gift bag of beauties and it rendered the South Cinema rich with glamorous women ever. South Indian heroes romanced these lasses in various movies. The beauties set the screen ablaze with their convincing screen presence gained a significant fan base in there. Surprisingly, they have even had temples raised after their name. South Indians runs love for cinema in their veins, hence proved. These hotties were honored, loves and adored widely in South India as well as North India.

Simran:

The Mumbai girl Rishibala Naval or Simran Bagga made her acting debut with ‘Tere Mere sapne” in 1996. She later ruled Kollywood as ‘Lady Superstar’ from 1998-2004. She charged 75 lakhs as a remuneration at the peak of her acting career. Further, she secretly made her acting comeback in Yash Raj Film’s Southern project “Aha Kalyanam”.

Khushboo:

A Punjabi by birth, Khushboo made her acting debut with ‘Thodi si Bewafai’ as a child artist. The film was released in 1980. Later on, she went on to become one of the most revered actresses in the South. She even has a temple made after her name. Some other food and textile brands like “Khushboo Idli” and “Khushboo Saree” are also named after her.

Nagma:

Nagma ruled the South Film Industry before Simran rose to prominence. Nagma hails from Mumbai who tasted success in her debut Hindi film “Baaghi” in 1990. She then went southwards and her popularity soared higher. She was cast against big heroes such as Rajinikanth, Ajith and Chiranjeevi.

Jyothika:

Jyothika Sadananth Saravanan was born in Punjab who made her debut with the film ‘Doli Sajake Rakhna’ (1998) opposite Akshaye Khanna. She then, following the footprints of her elder sister Nagma become a popular name in South Indian movies. She finally bid adieu to the industry after being married to the superstar Surya. Until her married, she maintained her position as an youth icon.

Namrata Shirodkar:

This Marathi Mulgi won Miss India in 1993 and made her debut in Bollywood with ‘Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai’ (1998). When her career seemed to suffer a nosedive in Bollywood, she tried her luck in South films where she made her debut with ‘Vamsee’ opposite superstar Mahesh Babu. She married Mahesh Babu later.

Namitha:

Surat born and one of the most coveted actresses of South cinema. She made her debut with ‘Sontham’ in 2002. Later on, when she was paired against Sarathkumar in ‘Aai’, she became the buzzword in Kollywood.

Kiran Rathore:

Another beautiful Mumbai girl who made her debut with the movie ‘Yaadein’ which was directed by Subhash Ghai. She is the cousin of Bollywood sweetheart Raveena Tandon who became a rage in Kollywood as soon as she set foot there. She reigned the Tamil industry for a significant time after the release of ‘Gemini’.

These beauties scorched the South Indian Silver screen and people could never have enough of them.
