After being outplayed by Mumbai Indians in their previous game, the Sunrisers Hyderabad face an uphill task of beating the high-flying Kings XI Punjab in an IPL encounter on Wednesday. The Kings XI Punjab have had a rampaging campaign this year, all thanks to the blistering knocks provided by Aussie Glenn Maxwell.

All was well for the Punjab side unitll they suffered a sudden setback against the Kolkata Knight Riders. George Bailey and his men have to come all guns blazing against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who cannot afford to lose any more matches in order to stay in the play-offs contention. Hyderabad have to be wary of Punjab’s star duo – Glenn Maxwell and David Miller who have been in scintillating form since the tourney began.

While batting has done all the talking for Punjab, their bowling department is no less powerful with the presence rookie pacer Sandeep Sharma, who has emerged as one of the top wicket-takers this season and also Australian speedster Mitchell Johnson, who has slowly gathered some momentum after a rather slow start.

The Punjab also boasts the likes of Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera, who last year played for the Sunrisers, Cheteshwhar Pujara, Shaun Marsh, Murali Kartik and L Balaji. The Sunrisers Hyderabad has had a decent track record on home turf until the Mumbai Indians game where the latter gave them a bashing. The hosts now have to take responsibility as the likes of Aaron Finch, David Warner, captain Shikhar Dhawan and Darren Sammy have to step up their gear.

The bowlers spearheaded by South African tearaway bowler Dale Steyn and comprising the young Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Moises Henriques and Irfan Pathan would also have to come up with something special or otherwise see another year outside the top four.
