In our second part of our preview series, we take a look at the bowlers who can take centrestage in the upcoming 7-match Ind-Aus ODI series.

India

Ravindra Jadeja
ICC’s current world number one bowler, Ravindra Jadeja cannot be taken lightly. His 12-wicket haul at the Champions Trophy is enough to prove that on turning tracks in India, ‘Jaddu’ could leave the Australian batsmen reeling.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Ever since his debut against Pakistan in 2012, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been a revelation to MS Dhoni’s side. His away and in-swingers with the new ball will be much dreaded by the Aussie batsmen in the forthcoming series.

R Ashwin
India’s frontline spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin is still MS Dhoni’s go-to man in key situations. Even though, Ashwin is still to get a fiver in ODI cricket, this series produces a good opportunity to achieve that goal.

Australia

Mitchell Johnson
Aussie quickie Mitchell Johnson is just coming off a successful CLT20 campaign with the Mumbai Indians and will like to add to that the ODI series as well. Johnson is one of the most experienced campaigners in the Australian team and will know how to bowl in the Indian conditions.

James Faulkner
Another bowler who was associated with an IPL team (Rajasthan Royals), James Faulkner is one for the future. The 23-year-old has only represented in 13 ODI games but knows the weaknesses of the Indian batting order.

Xavier Doherty
The left-arm spinner Xavier Doherty will be leading the spin attack for Australia in the upcoming series. The 30-year-old who has pocketed only 47 wickets will get help from the Indian pitches that will assist turn and bounce. On his day, Doherty can cause batsmen problems and that’s what the Indian contingent have to watch out for.
