‘Hope he bids adieu with his bat held high’

Sachin who recently announced his retirement from the IPL, may soon hang up his boots in the test arena too, finally calling the curtains on one of the most illustrious cricketing career ever.

Sachin who recently announced his retirement from the IPL, may soon hang up his boots in the test arena too, finally calling the curtains on one of the most illustrious cricketing career ever.

Speaking to the press, Sourav said, “There is too much speculation about his retirement, which is putting pressure on him. While I believe his retirement is not very far, I hope he bids adieu with his bat held high. He should leave the game only after playing a match wining knock.”

The southpaw wished that Tendulkar, who played his career’s last T20 match with Mumbai Indians winning the Champions League Twenty20 title, repeats the same feat with India triumphing over the visiting West Indies, against whom he is slated to play his historic 200th Test Match.

Former Indian captain Saurav Ganguly also went on to say that, “Sachin’s achievements and credentials won’t be lowered if he continues to play for some more time. But I sincerely hope is he quits the game only after playing well, be it against the West Indies or South Africa.”Sourav and Sachin have been ODI’s best pairing ever with 6609 runs from 136 innings at an average of 49.32. With the former already behind the microphone these days, we wonder whether Sachin will join him in suit.
