#CLT20: Fans Are Let Down By These 5 Superstars At The Champions League T20

The Champions League T20 has been a wonderful platform for international stars from the 20-over format to display their talent either with the bat or ball.

The Champions League T20 has been a wonderful platform for international stars from the 20-over format to display their talent either with the bat or ball.

The Indian teams are off to a rollicking start in this year’s tourney with the Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab, yet to lose a game still. Even though there are T20 stars in the offering, the fans’ expectations hit sky high with the likes of Glenn Maxwell and MS Dhoni not convincing yet.

Thus, the following T20 stars have under-performed and have to raise the bar in the latter stages of the tournament.

Glenn Maxwell (Kings XI Punjab)
In the 3 matches played so far, Aussie T20 specialist Glenn Maxwell has amassed a paltry 66 runs in the tournament. The crowds have been left disappointed by Maxwell’s ‘no-show’ and would want a commanding display, once the KXIP play the top teams in the final stages of the CLT20.

Ravindra Jadeja (Chennai Super Kings)
Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has not been the star man for the CSK side in the tourney so far. The spinner has not raked in the wickets and has not got the opportunity, as well, to display his attacking batting skills. ‘Sir Jadeja’ is still one of the finest all-rounders in world cricket and the Chennai Super Kings will want the former to get his mojo back, ASAP!

Brendon McCullum (Chennai Super Kings)
Kiwi powerhouse, Brendon McCullum remains one of the finest pinchitters in the T20 game. The New Zealand skipper has not scaled the heights yet and once the former gets going, CSK are unstoppable. With a Kiwi coach at the helm, CSK fans would expect more from McCullum and his blazing bat!

Umar Akmal (Lahore Lions)
Pakistan’s T20 specialist, Umar Akmal had a good outing in the play-offs of the Champions League T20. Though a bit aloof behind the wickets, Umar Akmal can set the stage on fire if he finds the rhythm going. The Lahore Lions have become the first Pakistani T20 team to qualify for the CLT20 and would want their star batsman, to make the most of it.

Hashim Amla (Cape Cobras)
South African batsmen possess flair, quality, style and panache when it comes to batting and the one who acquires them all is none other than, Hashim Amla. Even though T20 has not been so ‘friendly’ to Amla, the latter still can clear the boundary rope with ease. With mere 87 runs in the tourney so far, Proteas’ Test skipper would want to finish off with style!

The Champions League T20 may be a platform for some unknown names but the fans always want the big names to come to the party. The above names are of the many top quality players who need to buck up and fast.
